I cannot recommend these guys enough. After I put out my service request Richard was the only provider who came out to ensure he gave me the right quote and was aware of all the issues. Richard and Eric did a great job to ensure my newly renovated basement was not damaged in any way while taking out the old tank. They are also a super cheerful, funny, and entertaining duo. Love these guys!!!

I normally do not like to give bad reviews, however, I gave the establishment ample time to respond to my concerns and they chose not to. This place may be okay for materials but do not under any circumstances use their installation services. Here are the main issues: - They have a very confusing quoting process - where it not even clear what each side is responsible for. Apparently shop to provide stain and varnish means the customer has to buy it. - Their coordination with the contract crew is horrendous. On day one no one shows up to my house and I was promised all day that they will be there in the next hour. Day 1 was a wash out. - They never call you back once you have parted with your money. Its always let me call you back in 5 minutes which is code for you can try calling me back yourself in an hour. - Terrible planning they wait until the last minute to measure my stairs that needed a custom cut, delaying the project another 3 days. - Finally, I contacted the manager to vent my frustration when the work was finally completed. He promised to call me back. It has been 2 weeks now.

2 bathrooms with subway tile and 10 years old so the mold was pretty bad. Brian restored to like new condition and provided good advice to keep it pristine. Standup guy, great demeanour, communicates well, and comes on time. Nothing to not like.

Our kitchen and powder room was over 25 years old and due for a total gut and replace. Home Improvement was our second quote and came in reasonable and the sales person was professional. The workmanship was good and the workers were respectful of the property and cleaned after themselves. Caio our project manager was responsive and available. We had a few hiccups with delays in the counter top and some panels but the project came through in 4 weeks.

My hot water tank pilot light would not stay lit. I had previously has this attended to by another service person who replaced my thermocouple with an old unit. So one year later the problem recurred. Martin was great, he put a new one in and was available on short notice. I would highly recommend him for quick and reliable assistance with any of your HVAC needs.

Many HVAC service people work on contract for service fronts you find on the web. They tend not to be as reliable. Always work with an owner-operator where possible.

Got sick of my patio stone sidewalk leading to my backyard so got Roman to do an interlock job instead. This is the third time I have used his services and was not disappointed.

Bit of a shocker of an experience given how highly this company is rated on HomeStars. I needed to get my attic insulation removed and re-charged due to a mould problem. Insta Insulation teamed up with Canada Restoration Services to perform the work. They failed in all aspects of the project: Sales - the sales person appeared professional at first but it turns out he never educated me on the choice of insulating material or the option to apply a vapour barrier before blowing in the insulation. When I questioned him on this (after the work was underway) his response was "do you want a 4,000 dollar job or a 10,000 job?" Obviously that is not the point. I want to do what is right to protect my single largest asset. Scheduling: The project was delayed by a day because the attic was too hot by the time the setup was completed. Coordination with the mould remediation company was non-existent. They scheduled the work for the next day and then call me in the morning to say they need 24 hours after mould remediation to start the work - so will only come the following day. I had taken time off from work to make sure the job was completed properly - they do not seem to respect customers have scheduling issues too. Work Quality: On the day the insulation was supposed to be applied, the truck came without any covers for the pot lights. Since the truck could not be moved off the driveway because the hose was connected, I had to bike 10K to Home Depot to buy the covers. When the work was completed, I noticed a crack in my ceiling. They said they would fix this but my calls to the office have yet to be returned. Customer First Attitude: I sent an email to the owner describing my experience in detail. 2 weeks and no reply. Perhaps they have become complacent with their HomeStar rating. Definitely look for alternatives if you need similar work done.

Think like a customer. Do not have condescending sales people, stick to your schedule, equip your trucks properly, remediate problems you create.

Sometime the stars at HomeStars get complacent. Always get multiple quotes and put in penalty clause for work delays.

Despite the fact that there were issues on your site (some of which were not within our control and had mainly to do with the remediation), we still managed to keep most of your job on schedule. Changing our schedule mid-stream is difficult and I am sorry you needed to experience this. We accept the fact that we are not perfect nor do we think we are. This was an unfortunate situation but we do service a lot of customers and just because one customer's schedule needs to change, due to another contractor, does not mean we are willing to inconvenience several other customers by changing their schedule. All customers are important to us and our intention remains to do everything possible to provide an exceptional experience for everyone. I would also like to take a moment to defend our salesperson. He did provide two options and review the quotations with you. If you changed your mind and wanted another option part way through the process all you needed to do was ask. My attic is approximately 750 square feet and had built up mould in the ceiling because the venting was inadequate. Canada Restoration and Insta Insulation teamed up to offer remediation and re-insulating services. The job was performed in early June when the weather can be all over the place. I scheduled the service well in advance and took leave from work so I could be around when the job was done. The company failed in two areas: 1. Prior to coming on site they failed to provide clear instructions on how to make sure the work area was to be prepared by the homeowner. I got a generic document by email the morning of and had to email them a few days before to get a timely heads up. 2. As soon as the workers came in they informed me that being a relatively warm and sunny day they would not likely be able to do much more than work site preparation and would have to be back the next day early morning to do the actual attic work after it cooled down overnight. They assured me that they would coordinate with the insulation company and that I would have no delays in the total job duration. Needless to say none of this coordination happened and the project was delayed by a day and blew another day of vacation. How a company that does so many jobs throughout the year cannot better plan for these eventualities is a real head scratcher. The job itself was performed to my satisfaction but the service rather pricey. Get multiple quotes if you plan on getting similar work done.

Hold them to their timelines. Put in penalty clauses if the delays are the company's fault. Our time is valuable and some of these contractors do not respect that.

Had my shingles damaged by raccoons and could not get the original installer to respond to my request for service. Called Mr. Roof Repair and they responded in a very timely manner and completed the job in a professional manner. I did have some challenges with getting an explanation on the follow-on work and when my concerns were raised to the owner Joe Mandel, he dealt with it in a very professional manner. He is very focused on customer satisfaction so you cannot go wrong with this company.

Springs always break at the worst of times. For me it was a Sunday. Called Door Doctor and someone was at my doorstep by noon and the job done in an hour. They may be a little on the expensive side thought.

I received an unsolicited visit from a student selling new windows and took her up on the offer because she had the sweetest personality even though I wasn't in the market. Lifestyle sales person Shannon Richmond then contacted me and I was again very impressed with her professionalism. The crew leader was Daniel and he did a great job. However, we did have some mishaps with the production crew who did not get the order right a couple times. List of work done: - 2 Bow Windows with rebuild of external siding - External siding on a large closed box window - 4 sets of bedroom windows - 1 bathroom window All windows were casement style and painted to match my existing siding.

Had a squeaky dryer (Frigidaire) that required the rear bearing assembly replaced. Delroy was in and out in about half an hour. It was a bit of a challenge to get him to commit to a time of service but the work was performed to my satisfaction.

We had to replace well worn carpeting in our second level and basement. Approximately - 1,000 sqft with stairs. Mark is a passionate about his trade and thoroughly professional. He carries carpet grade that does not spew toxic chemicals and provides great after sales service.

We live in a mid-70's built home and suffered long and hard with sliding door closets where most of the space was dedicated to nothing but air. Started my research on HomeStars and hit all the well reviewed providers. California Closets were the most responsive. Our sales person was Emily and she was excellent. Took the time to understand our needs, came back with thoughtful suggestions, and was never pushy. Installation was well coordinated and our installer Ian was a gem. I usually like to observe workmen - to make sure are conscientious and have good habits. I tend to linger around if I feel they are not up to snuff to make sure they do a good job. With Ian, just seeing how he set up, kept the area clean, and communicated - I was comfortable leaving him to work after 15 mins of interaction. The man is just awesome. In total we installed 5 built-in closets and 3 floating style closets.

Prices are a little higher than market. I would watch that in a bad economy.

A total gut and replace of our Master Bathroom. We did all the sourcing and designing ourselves but Don provided valuable input along the way. The job took a little longer than expected but all parties shared in the reasons. All in all we are happy with the way things worked out. The only issue was a slight popping up of the shower drain which causes some water pooling but Don has provided us with a 10 year coverage against any related problems.

After paying for the inspection service every year to keep my warranty in effect, Aire One refused to cover the Evaporator Coil that had sprung a leak. I took them to court and they still have not made good on the payment that the Judge ordered. Do not trust this company, they have no ethics and the manager, Mario Vaghei, is rude and incompetent.

You are right the Aire One does offer a 10 Years parts and labour warranty plan, which is valid for 10 years once the required annual maintenance is performed. Your furnace and air conditioner were installed in July 2001 and our records show that you did indeed have the maintenance performed annually. However as mentioned the warranty was a 10-year warranty and July 2011 completed the 10 years. Your evaporator coil was replaced in August 2011 therefore it would not have been covered under warranty.

I replaced my furnace and airconditioner at the same time with Aire One and signed up for their "comprehensive parts and labour warranty" - which assured me no charge parts and labour coverage as long as I subscribed to their annual maintenance plan. Recently my air conditioner was not cooling properly and after some testing it was determined that the evaporator coil had sprung a leak. I was forced to pay for the coil even though I was compliant with the agreement. The manager Mario is pretty rude and was absolutely unwilling on compromise on this even though the evaporator coil was not mentioned in any of the exclusions under the contract. My advise to home owners is either do not use these guys, but if you do make them amend their contract to clearly state any exclusions from the warranty.

I had worked with Supreme Windows extensively in the past. The company seems to have changed ownership but the installers are the same and the new sales folk although a little green are good and effective.

Invest in either training the existing sales people or hire ones who are more knowledgeable and have a passion for the business.

Prices are all over the map. There's a lot of low end bad quality stuff and high end overpriced stuff. Whatever you do make sure the install crew is competent.

Alex is responsive and professional and his doors are of good quality. Most importantly make sure you get his installer Gabriel doing the work. This guy is a quiet perfectionist and does an awesome job. He took one day to do each door properly. Some of the other suppliers I spoke to said they would do all doors in one day. My only beef with Alex is that he did not make clear that the default white that comes with the door is not very pleasant and consequently did not match the inside walls of our house. For an optimum look make sure you customize both the inside and outside colours of your door. The expense is well worth it.

Our Bosch dishwasher broke after 11 years of service. We went to the Sears in the Erin Mills Town Centre to look for a replacement. Being an evening weekday we got prompt service. The price was reasonable and the sales person sold us on the 5 year maintenance plan telling us we could use it towards a purchase if we did not call for service. However, when I read the fine print at home, it turns out I have to purchase two times the amount of merchandise to get the rebate and it cannot be electronics. The installation was not a good experience. The two guys who came did not seem to get along well and one of them had bad personal hygiene. They came ready to sell me flexible hot water hose and insisted I use it over the existing copper piping. I spent an hour cleaning up after they left. They also did not come with the requisite materials, asking for stuff like old towels, paper towels, etc.

Be more transparent about pricing and use installers with a better work ethic.

So sorry you had a bad experience. For every one of these there are innumerable good ones, but we generally don't take the time to put fingers to keys if everything is good.

It is the direct Corporate Customer Service line…a back door if you will. Give them your name and phone number (Everything is tracked by phone number at Sears) and tell them you are seeking compensation, and you would like them to start a file on the claim.
