This company is NOT honest and reliable!!!

This company is NOT honest and reliable!!!

The company told my property manager that the issue with my existing AC unit was the wrong size of line set, it has diameter for 220 Freon which used in old air conditioners and for new ones diameter should be more because now all companies use 410 Freon.

They gave me 2 options: 1. Fixing the existing unit by changing line set from 5/6 to 3/4 and refilling the gas for $1,500+Tax or 2. Installing new AC unit and line set for $3,500+Tax. I chose option 2. After installation, my property manager told me that the line set was not changed but they will charge me the same price. THEY DID NOT DO WHAT THEY AGREED TO!!!

I called the company for explanation, I waited and Eva called me back to force me to pay. She argued that even the line set was not changed, the expensive chemical was used to flush the old line set and the size problem was magically resolved which costs $1,000 (Either line set size was a false statement or this magical chemical or both!!!). I asked her to send me updated invoice with proper description of service provided, but she rejected with rude attitude. After 2-hour difficult conversation, I was forced to pay $3,300+Tax by her threat to remove my AC the next day and throw me to collection.

Watch out, you will be fooled SIMPLY by this SMART company!!!

nest protect

Devraj Mahendran provided excellent service. He talked to me about fire safety, carbon monoxide, and also a fire escape plan. I learned a lot and appreciate the time he spent with me. I love the he nest protect detector and it works with my thermostat as well. Really recommend this company for smart home and have services.

Nest Protect Promo gone bad!

I signed up for the nest protect promo, gotta a call a couple weeks later that they'll be in my area soon to book my install date. Install date came, took time off from work, was home not only during the 4 hour window but the entire day, no one shows up! Called simply smart home a few days later to figure out what happened, the customer service representative said the installer knocked on my door and no one answered. I asked the rep to read back my address, at the same time she confirmed I like in a townhouse complex and not a condo building. Appointment was rebooked for 2 weeks later, the rep apologized and stated that the installer will call me when he is close to ensure the appointment is not missed. Second install date came and went, no call, no installer. I though to myself, screw it, Ive wasted enough of my time for a free carbon monoxide / smoke detector. About a week later simply rep called me, apologized that the tech was behind on my install date and was unable to get to me. I explained I got no call, no email, nothing, even though the previous rep said I would. So... I'm thinking to myself, I'll just forget it, but the rep said she will reschedule and even send me an email with the new install date (now the 3rd). So the third install date comes, installer actually shows up, bit didn't get a "I'm on my way call". Tech asks if I have an insallainsta scheduled for tofay, I say yes. Then the next thing he says is if this a managed townhouse complex (maintenance fees) to which I reply yes. "Sorry, you're not eligible, it's covered by your management company" to which I reply "since when do maintenance fees cover smoke/carbon monoxide detectors? They only cover the outside of the unit." Tech proceeds to show me a text messages he had sent to his "manager" whether condo corps are eligible? Manager had replied "yes". Tech stated that I was the second customer today that lives in a townhouse with maintenance that is not eligible. To make an a very long story less long, I would NOT RECOMMEND simply smart home to anybody. Nothing against the tech/installer, just doing his job, but companies like this are just coming up with BS excuses not to install a nest protect because they know they have a better chance of being able to dupe/upsell someone in a house. I guess this is the route these "snake oil salesmen" are going now that they can't trick people into signing 25yr contracts on furnaces and water heaters at your door. STAY AWAY FROM SIMPLY SMART HOME. I was hesitant when originally signing up as it's a utility reselller running this promo rather than a government funded initiative like GREEN ON's smart thermostat program (which I also got without any issues)

Excellet services!

Today Smart Home manager Sagree Mathi came to my home to install Nest Smoke and carbon monoxide alarm for free. I really appreciate his excellent services and nest wonderful products. I strongly recommend Simply Smart Home company and Nest products to everyone!

Experience with new furnace installation

The company was recommended by Enbridge. The sales representative was polite and knowledgeable and we decided to go ahead. The installer came on time, finished his work in 3 hours. He was in a hurry. When we asked him to test that the new thermostat can start and stop new furnace, he was rude as if we did not understand how it should work , did nothing and left. Then the furnace worked and worked and temperature increased up to 30 degrees against 18 degrees set up by the thermostat. We stopped the furnace manually and called the company again. The technicians was sent same day, they replaced the thermostat, this time they checked that it can manage the furnace.

SERVICE AND PEOPLE THAT SUPPORT YOU.

I had some issues that after contacting the office, they called and offered to work with me. They offered a solution that would make sense. They are a team that wants to grow and continue to resolve any problems respectfully.

Happy customer

Damian and Nat were at my house today through a referral from my friend. They we’re a delight to be around and helped us protect our air conditioner which we felt very satisfied paying for. It’s always good to know people are out there that has your best interest at heart.

Water filtration

Had a challenging interaction with Simply Smart. My parents were sold a water filtration system they really did not need. We cancelled the contract within 10 days allowed under the Consumer Protection Act clause. In speaking with a representative from Simply Smart stated that there was an $850+tax as a cancellation fee and were not willing to negotiate at all to a reasonable amount. To put this behind my elderly parents, after much back and forth I agreed to pay and posted about my experience online.

A day later another representative from Simply Smart called me and told me that they don't charge cancellation fees when cancelling within the Consumer Protection Act timeframe, and that the other representative was incorrect in doing so. They have told me that they are sending me a refund cheque. I've spent a lot of time and energy helping my parents with this issue, and was frustrated with the first representative I spoke to. The second representative on the other hand was very helpful after I wrote about my experience online.

worst response ever

Furnace stopped working. After multiple attempts and long wait times to get through, after 4 hours waiting for a return call, after booking a 4 hour window for them to come, they did not come. Next day--- The same thing all over again. Hopelessly inconsiderate and incompetent lack of regard for the customer. The worst!
