front entrance to home

The installers were very hard working and skilled at their job . Unfortunately they were held back an hour or so because of a difficulty with the delivery of the door . They worked with very little interruption to our home life and clean up was excellent.

26 windows replaced 8 years ago

We had 26 windows in our 3400 square foot house replaced by Pollard about 8 years ago, and we were very pleased!

Backstory: In our previous Toronto house, we replaced our 80 year old windows just before moving, so we didn't want to spend a lot. So we went with a DIFFERENT WINDOW COMPANY who had a low price - but the windows didn't last at all! Some latches broke off with normal use and the vinyl cracked when a window was closed a little too quickly. The seals quickly failed as well. I guess you get what you pay for!

When we moved into our dream house ~8 years ago, we needed to replace the windows, but this time, wanted high quality windows since we planned on staying in this house for decades. So, we did our research and went with POLLARD this time, given their high quality (they were also the 2nd most expensive quote we received). Everything went smoothly and the windows look beautiful! We love the grill inserts and the large Oak trims. There was one window in the house that didn't need replacing (the previous owner had done so), so we left it. To our delight, Pollard put a new trim on that window as well (for free) to match the other windows. We hired a professional painter to stain our oak trims and the painter said these windows were the best install he'd ever seen. Eight years later, the windows look gorgeous and the seals are still great.

Approximate cost of services:
$21,000.00

Front Door w/side light

Purchased door July 2016. Received call from Judy, door ready will be delivered Aug. 16th. Out of town that day to receive door, re-scheduled for Mon. Oct. 17th (next available day, really). Took day off work to receive door. Received phone call from Arlene at approx. 11:15am (Judy off sick), sorry sir the door did not get on truck (no explanation given). Was not until Wed. that week, that Judy informed me door was not ready. The next day Judy returns and calls to inform me the door would be delivered tomorrow (Fri.), she continued to explain how back logged they were and I was not the only one this happened to (delivery delay). Door delivered Fri. Asked gentlemen who delivered door what the holed up was. He told me the door had not be painted (interesting). That is three different excuses for delivery issue. I had taken the measurements (brick to brick minus 1/2"). RSO size was 44.88.." my opening 45 1/4". Door actual size was 45 3/8". Brick molding was suppose to be 1 1/2" came 2 1/2", needless to say it would not fit. Note: I hired my own installers. The door was trimmed 1/4" both sides to fit. The inside was unpainted which I knew, but the window trim is different color then door, the bottom sill is different color then door and window trim. The window in the door is not square to door, 1/4" out from top to bottom. Door frame and side light frame bowed, the door edge and frame are not parallel. The door has been installed and looks good from the outside (except for crooked window in door). The installers were able to mitigate the door size to fit. Not happy.

Replace front dooe

We started off by going to the showroom in Burlington. We met our Sales Representative, David G. He was very knowledgeable and worked within our budget, or should I say my wife's budget, she spends more then I do! Once our door was selected David came out to the house to measure. To keep David honest, a follow up was also done by Andre and Kyle. Master Installers. I am sure there measurements matched! What I like about Pollards is the fact they are also the manufacturer, no middle person to deal with, love it! And of course they are local and have an excellent track record. Also, I think my wife picked one of the more expensive doors....of course. Andre and Kyle showed up at our place on August 17th right on time!n a word, amazing. Andre knows his stuff....of course 20 years experience helps. The completed the job in 2 hours, cleaned up and took the old door and parts away. Very nice people, I was impressed. As a Vice President of an Insurance company I truly understand the need for great customer service!!! David came back out one more time to ensure we where satisfied ....oh, and to give my wife a window brochure....stay tuned...

The only honest seals are in Alaska

We purchased new house 11 years ago approximately $450,000. Pollard windows were installed! I have 15 windows and two patio doors with seals gone. I contacted them and they told me because it's not under the warranty it's not covered. Give me a break 17 windows!! You call that good service? I sent them a letter asking for managers e-mail. No response. I contacted Global News and are interested in the situation . $3,900 is what they want to replace seals!

$3,900.00

Dear Marino, seals fail for a number of reasons. One of the major reasons is the relative humidity in your home. Homes have become tighter and tighter over the years in an effort to become more efficient. The result is that you need to control your humidity either through the use of an air exchanger or through the use of a dehumidifier. High humidity causes condensation which accelerates seal failures and can cause mould and mildew which also accelerates seal failures. I would be more than happy to send you information of the topic. Please feel free to contact me directly at your earliest convenience. Jim (Sales Manager)
