My 10 yr old washing machine was making loud knocking noises and I called Joe. He was able to narrow down the problem over the phone, and came out the next day to take a look. Unfortunately the bearing was broken and it wouldn't make financial sense to proceed with such a repair. When I was doing the disconnect for my washer myself and I hit a bit of a snag with a very stubborn hose & water connection, Joe was able to talk me through it over the phone. He really is the best of the best, and I'll definitely call him for any other appliance servicing. Thank you Joe, I truly appreciate your professionalism, advice and guidance!

My 2nd story wall vent cover needed replacement after breaking off from the wind storm last week. I called Marc who was able to come out and do the replacement. Ramiro and his teammate sanitized our shower stall tiles, glass panels, shower head, and resealed the grout, as well as re-caulked all the silicone. They also cleaned the soaker tub, the bathroom tile floor, resealed the floor grout, as well as restored the bathroom counter & mirror! The entire bathroom now looks brand new again! They take great attention to detail, as even the inner hinges of the glass shower door has been thoroughly deep cleaned!! They are truly pros! Ramiro and his teammate were friendly, courteous, and professional. They arrived on time, were very clean and considerate (took off boots when going through the house, laid down a work blanket, and wore masks to keep me & my family safe). Before starting Ramiro was happy to explain each step of the process, and also asked if there were any leaks in the shower stall or if the light fixture was working properly, so that he can fix them too! I needed some annual inspection after the powerful storms came through the area in early spring and damaged neighboring roofs. Integrity Roofers are my go-to as they've done some good work on my house before. During a season when roofers are very busy, they were still able to send Roman out the next day to check every section of my roof for loose or damaged shingles, gaps, etc. He was very thorough, taking photos and video so that I can see how my roof looks. Fortunately for me, everything looked good and there was no damage. He also took a look around all the soffits to ensure they were intact. Their pricing for inspection & repairs are reasonable with no surprises, and most importantly they are dependable and reliable! Last fall my old garage door opener was acting up (opening/closing partially) and I called Markham Garage to take a look. Avery patiently inspected the unit and tried to diagnose the problem, doing several tests and adjustments. He presented some options to repair the unit. But at the end of the day I wanted to replace the unit which would give more value and provide better long term reliability, so I decide to go with that option. They were able to schedule Avery back the next day to do the install, which was quick and smooth. He's an amazing technician who knows his stuff. He was friendly, courteous, and answered all my questions which made the entire process painless. I highly recommend this dependable company for all garage door needs!! Thanks!

I had Reliance replace my old furnace and AC with a new furnace & AC last summer, but decided to wait 1 year before writing this review to see how the furnace and A/C performed. 1 year later, they are both running smoothly. Looking at my heating/cooling , they are also using less energy and saving me money! For the installation, Ramtin and Kai did an amazing job. Before doing the work they walked me through the installation process and answered all my questions. The work was both clean and efficient, taking about 4-5 hrs! They worked with me to ensure my existing WiFi thermostat would work with the addition of the c-wire kit that I had requested. They also came up with a good solution for removal of my existing AC rack/rails to make sure it wouldn't damage my house. The team was also very considerate, knocking when needing to come upstairs (in light of the COVID pandemic), and made sure I was happy with everything before leaving. Many other HVAC companies, are so quick to leave to do another install, they don't care about the small details. But the quality of the Reliance work can be seen in the details (placement of the furnace and A/C units, sealing, duct work, outside caulking, etc)! I wanted to get my garage door spring replaced, since my neighbor gave me a heads up that his broke and our garage doors were installed at the same time 10 years ago. Mine had been creaking loudly every time it opened & closed as well. I contacted Markham Garage Doors early in the morning, and Louis was able have Ryan to come and take a look at it the same morning! Ryan was friendly, professional, and very knowledgeable. He determined the type of spring needed and once his teammate dropped one off, he replaced it within half an hour. He also inspected my cables which was still in good condition, and lubricated all the moving parts to ensure it's smooth operation. He showed me what parts to lubricate and what times of the year I should do it, in order to keep it in top condition. He was also able to sell me a bottle of lubricant spray as well. Excellent service from Markham Garage Doors from initial phone call, to the expert repair & maintenance work, and even the timely coordination between his teammate dropping off the part needed. They made it all painless and stress free. I wish all companies were this responsive and professional! I'm definitely going to call Markham Garage Doors for all my garage door needs and I highly recommend them!

Called Reliance to come and check a leak from my AC unit on top of the furnace. They had Shawn come out first thing in the morning to help fix the issue, and it was on Labour Day! Shawn was very professional, courteous, and friendly, and also wore a mask adhering to COVID safety procedures. He quickly found the issue with a blocked drainage hose, from a piece of plastic (tape or packaging) that somehow got sucked into the unit. I didn't have to pay for the service because I have the AC protection plan which we'll be keeping! Thanks Shawn!

I needed to have my garage ceiling repaired after having a section of it cut out due to water damage. I decided to go with Walter after reading the reviews on Homestars and glad that I did. He was very responsive, and excellent in following up, which sets him apart from the beginning. He arrived on time, was friendly, professional, worked efficiently, and cleaned up the area after the repairs were completed. Walter's experience and knowledge really shows in both his work and when discussing the materials he uses (as well as what is current in the industry). I can visibly see the difference in his finished work (& materials) compared to my original builder as well! He's honest and his price was very reasonable as well. I wish all contractors were this good! After having a hard time trying to get roofers to even call me back, I decided to call Integrity Roofers and really glad that I did! They were quick to respond, easy to work with, and willing to come for my small roof repair. Elaine in the office was able to schedule Ken to come and see my issue (non-emergency) just a day later, after I initially called. He arrived on time, was very knowledgeable and friendly. His experience really showed when he took the time to explain why my roof had the issue that it did, and what the recommended solution was. He also took the time to answer my questions/concerns, and performed the fix very efficiently, all within the hour! He also checked the condition of the rest the roof while he was up there, and let me know that the rest of it was quite good and should last quite some time. Ken and Integrity Roofers, are responsive, professional, honest, and friendly! I experienced a high level of professionalism and customer service on just my small repair, and can't imagine wanting to have any other roofing company for a bigger job. We needed to replace our leaky sliding patio door (Jeld-Wen) on the second floor of the house that was originally installed by our builder (Monarch/Mattamy). We found Fortress Windows & Doors through Homestars and also read about them in a 2015 article/interview with Steve Mercer of Fortress that was posted in the Toronto Sun and eieihome.com https://torontosun.com/2015/10/06/how-to-choose-a-window-installation-company/wcm/e53af161-0f7e-49f6-af26-95f9dee8f62d. The things Steve had said in the interview made a lot of sense and was very customer oriented, so we decided to add them to the list of potential companies to contact and glad that we did. Steve set himself apart from the rest by responding very quickly to our urgent issue. He called back the same day, and came in-person to look at the sliding door the very next morning (which was also on a Saturday!). He was very patient as I described the issue, expressed my concerns, and asked him tons of questions about windows/doors and the installation process, etc. He took the time to answer all my questions completely and was very reassuring. He was honest and didn't pressure me to replace things that we didn't need to. Steve provided a very competitive quote (on the spot) and also gave the most reasonable timeframe for the installation of late Nov / early Dec (most wouldn't be able to do it until January or later), due to the manufacturer's backlog from the government rebate program. We decided to go ahead with Fortress to do a brick-to-brick replacement of our leaky sliding patio door (extra-tall), our third floor sliding patio door of the same make, and our large drafty living room window. Before leaving, Steve even fixed my front door and didn't want anything for helping to do it. Steve McCue, the installation supervisor, came the same day to get more accurate measurements for the install and ordering of the windows/doors. He was also very knowledgeable and patient in explaining likely causes as to why our original patio door was leaking (design, quality, installation). On the day of installation, Paul and the installation team was professional, methodical, and skilled. They worked on one door/window at a time, and as each old one went out the new one was put in within a few minutes, ensuring the house was not exposed for long to the cold winter weather. They were extra careful not to damage our hardwood floors (covered with runners) or walls, which required additional care as the extra tall sliding patio door had to go up flights of stairs. In addition, they took a look at our leaky eaves-trough and patched it for us. Steve Mercer also came by on the day to drop off some materials and to see how we were doing during the install. Everything was done by the end of the day, and they cleaned up afterwards as well. The products Fortress used are far superior to what the homebuilders provided. One can tell just by looking at it, but also I can feel how little heat loss there is now compared with the old windows/doors (huge difference)! I was initially nervous about doing a winter install, while already being stressed out from the headache of the builder's old patio door that allowed water to leak in and go down to the first floor garage (first time I've heard of or witnessed something like that). But one thing that Steve said to me that shows what type of person he is and the kind of company Fortress is, was "we've got you covered"! The entire experience was painless, and I have peace of mind knowing that if I have any future issue Steve and his team will be willing to help and stand behind their products & workmanship (also with their exceptional warranty)! I highly recommend Fortress Windows & Doors! It's a company with good old fashioned integrity and workmanship, which is very hard to find these days! I contacted Three Little Pigs to assess and repair the concrete corner of my foundation, re-parge the foundation wall with a much more solid/stronger finish than what the builder originally provided (which had crumbled/broke off), as well as to repair several severely cracked mortar brick joints (tuck-pointing) around the house. I also had them re-caulk all my windows, doors, and brick-flashing. After emailing some photos and description of my issue, David came out the next day to assess my situation in person. He was friendly and extremely knowledgeable, educating me on the differences between the more stringent provincial building codes versus the lesser GTA codes, which had caused the problems my house had. He was able to advise and recommend long-lasting solutions (drawing from the differences in standards), and did not recommend things that weren't necessary. David was also very patient in answering my numerous questions. Chris who performed the masonry work was very professional, friendly, and skilled. His finished work is amazing, as he paid attention to small details (color matching for tuck pointing, making sure not to miss any areas that could be a concern, grinding hard to get areas of the foundation for parging, etc.). We had lots of different spots where the mortar between the brick had cracked, and he did not rush or skip any of them. He also put up scaffolding to access the 2nd and 3rd floor patio/balcony, rather than going through the house, in order to keep it clean for us, which we really appreciated! From start to finish the whole process was very stress free with constant communication throughout from Barbara, David, and Rob (including late in the evening and the weekend!). Chris and other crew came everyday to work on the house, and the company made sure I was happy with everything before "finishing" the job. The work was done efficiently (a few days) and at a very high quality (very big difference from what the builder provided). The Three Little Pigs is a real masonry company with real masonry experience and knowledge, which really show in both their recommendations and workmanship. They also stand behind their work, and provided me with a 5 year warranty on the parge and 10 year on the repaired foundation corner and tuck pointing work, which gives me additional peace of mind! If you want peace of mind that things are done properly and strong, I would highly recommend TLP. Thanks to the entire TLP team!

Nicolas did an amazing job resealing all the windows and doors, exhaust vents. He was also contracted to caulk areas where the brickwork meets flashing by the highly regarded masonry company I was using (Three Little Pigs) who were well-versed with the provincial building code (not just the lesser GTA's code). He came bright and early on a Saturday morning, was very efficient, while ensuring high quality workmanship (which shows in the finished product!). Nicolas was also very friendly and knowledgeable, taking the time to answer my questions with detailed and clear explanations (which show his depth of knowledge and experience)! I have better peace of mind knowing that my house is properly sealed from the elements, using better strength & higher quality materials than the builder's materials (which had originally been sloppy in quite a few areas). I'm very happy with his work, and would definitely seek him out for any future caulking needs. I highly recommend him!

I highly recommend JAGG who made the entire process of fixing my basement leaks stress-free and painless! After the heavy rains in August I found a small leak in the basement and called JAGG whose name was referred to me by another top-notch contractor (Mold.ca). JAGG was very responsive and scheduled Helder Cabral to take a look within a day. Helder was very friendly, courteous, and patient. He took the time to answer all my questions and explained both the inspection and repair process. I appreciated how thorough he was, addressing all my concerns, including inspecting other areas where I was worried about (so I can have some piece of mind). Helder was very reassuring, making the whole thing painless. The price quoted was also very reasonable for the number of leak issues that I had including a large structural crack we found during the inspection (which had not leaked ... yet)! A week later they were able to schedule a technician to perform the repairs. Due to a cancellation, they were able to move my appointment earlier in the day as well. Andrew, arrived on time, was very knowledgeable, and friendly. He also took the time to answer my questions before and after the repair. After the repair he cleaned up and informed me of the drying/cure times as well. The knowledge, professionalism, and high quality service of everyone I spoke with at JAGG was very reassuring. And on top of that, they issued a 10 year transferable warranty certificate for the work they did! Thank you JAGG!

I called Joe to have a look at my LG Gas Dryer, which was making some rattling/noises that I wanted to have checked out, but also it was producing a gassy odor when it was drying. I also wanted the hard to reach coils under the fridge cleaned. Although he said he didn't normally service LG anymore, he was willing to help. Joe arrived on time and after a short inspection he quickly found the issue for the odor. The metal ducting that is supposed to vent the exhaust from the dryer was broken! He removed the old duct, replaced it with a better new one, and performed a careful and proper installation. He was very knowledgeable and patient to explain and answer questions, reasons for the duct breaking/failure, and how a proper installation should be. The rattling that I heard was produced by the broken ducting each time the dryer started up, but he also confirmed that rollers sounded normal while in operation. He tested the dryer to ensure everything was working and venting properly. He also cleaned the hard to reach coils under fridge (for free). Joe is a good old fashioned service professional! He is responsive, on-time, knowledgeable, patient, skilled, and friendly. We need more professionals like him in this day and age! Thank you Joe!

Our family was already going through an extremely challenging time, when we were hit with a water damage and mold issue. We had a leak from the terrace going underneath the kitchen and into the garage, that continued to get worse with each rainfall. Originally we had attempted to contact several companies who were not willing to see the issue, or were non-responsive after the initial call, and we were basically left to figure out our problem on our own. Bill has been so helpful and reassuring during the entire process (guidance, advice, next-steps). He also referred us to a reputable roofer to help resolve the source of the problem, as well as a waterproofer for a separate issue. Mold.ca has showed great compassion and care throughout the process, and is a model company! We will definitely look to Mold.ca for the rebuild once we resolve the source of the leak, as well as any potential future renovations, and would recommend this amazing company to anyone! Had a complicated issue with the terrace deck above my garage a while back, which had a clogged eaves trough drain (covered / non-visible). Gary was sent over to look at the issue, and used the snake with the camera to look into the drain. Ultimately the camera could not give us any insight into what the problem was. However, he used another snake device, being very careful not to cause any damage to the metal eaves drain system, to see if it could clear the mystery clog. Eventually he was able to fish out a clear plastic bag which had clogged up the entire system! Excellent service, for an unique and complicated issue that wasn't a conventional plumbing/pipe problem! During the whole time, Gary was very courteous, friendly, and really cared about trying to solve my problem (which he did)! Highly recommended! Thank you!

Called Reliance to inspect my tankless water heater to make sure it was operating and performing properly, as it started making a louder than normal noise. Armin, the technician they sent, was very professional, courteous, and came on time. He resolved the issue, but also spent some extra time and care in making sure it was in peak operating condition. He also answered all of my numerous questions. This is my third service experience with Reliance over several years (humidifier, furnace, water heater), and each time not only have they been reliable and dependable, but they've been very friendly and courteous too! I took advantage of a promo 21 Point Precision Tune-Up that Reliance had in the fall on both my Furnace and AC, and was extremely satisfied with the work done, as well as the knowledge and courteousness of the technician they sent (Mario). Good help is hard to find these days, and I'm glad I was able to find it! Mario kindly answered all my questions (and I had a lot) about the service and HVAC equipment while the work was being performed, and he also shared additional preventative maintenance tips that I could also do myself to prolong the life of my equipment. He was extremely thorough with the work he was doing and I could see the attention to detail that was given, even when performing some cleanup work around the equipment before he left. Timely, polite, courteous, knowledgeable, and reliable! I wish all technicians and companies were this way! I am extremely satisfied with the service received from Reliance! Courteous, reliable, and got the job done in a reasonable amount of time! I had a builder installed furnace humidifier that stopped working, so I called Reliance to book an appointment. Customer Service told me upfront it would cost $89 for the inspection/diagnosis. I was able to choose a time window in the evening (between 7-11pm), which was great because I didn't need to take time off from work. The technician, Derek, called me about 45 mins prior to let me know approximately when he would arrive. He arrived promptly and was very courteous. I showed him to the humidifier. Sure enough, the humidifier worked when he was there, so I asked about replacement anyways. He gave me the pricing and some options. I explained what I observed before, and he did some more inspection and the unit malfunction as I had seen earlier. I opted for the replacement, which was $100. The whole diagnosis and replacement took less than an hour, but he was very thorough, took the time to answer questions, explain the operation, and did a better job cosmetically than the original installation! I would definitely recommend Reliance Home Comfort!
