My fireplace had not been cleaned in a long time, and when I tried to start it this year, I had a lot trouble, and every time I got it going, the pilot light died within a half hour. I did much research and found that I likely had to replace my thermocouple. I chose this company because of the high reviews, the best price, and he was available with little notice. He even works weekends!
When he came, he was very friendly yet professional. I felt safe alone with him in the home, and he let me watch what he was doing. He speaks English and French very fluently, as do I, so we had fun chatting in both languages while he worked.
When I told him knowingly that I likely needed a thermocouple, he was very honest and said that he would first try a thorough cleaning. He did not just vacuum -- He took every little thing apart and cleaned each piece individually and thoroughly with wire brushes on the outside and special cleaning devices that he pulled through the inside passages of the pilot light mechanism.
He put it all back together and I could see right away that my pilot light was strong and bright! It was not the thermocouple at all! He could have easily charged me hundreds extra for a part replacement, but he was honest and very skilled and he did only what was needed… and charged me a very reasonable price!

After reviewing the reviews of Homestars I contacted Imran to fix my gas fireplace that had stopped working. Imran showed up on time for the appointment and was able to diagnose the problem and repair it on the spot. In addition Imran cleaned and serviced the fireplace and it looks and works like new. Our fireplace fan wasn't working and the heat had caused the marble all around it to crack. Imran was easily able to diagnose that it had never been installed correctly and there was actually nothing WRONG with the fan once he moved a sensor. He saved us time and $. Amazing cst service.

Imran responded very promptly to my call, showed up exactly when he said he would and delivered great service. He explained everything to me and was VERY thorough. My two 12 year old fireplaces look brand new and have never worked better. Very happy customer.

First off.... a trades person who does a follow up call! How rare is that?
Called Imran a few months ago in the fall to fix our 2005 Vermont gas stove. The pilot light had gone out, and even when we could get it going it didn't stay lit.

He arrived on time, cleaned it out and it seemed fixed. He did warn us that one of the (multiple) sensors was weak.

A week later... it stopped working again. Another call and visit, this time he thought it would be the sensor, so he bought that and brought it along (warned us that this call would be close to $500).

Turns out it was just the on/off switch that was faulty. He could just as easily have said it was the sensor and we would have been none the wiser.

Fireplace is working to this day.

I am a technician as well and watching how meticulous Imran works I was very pleased, since that is how I provide service to my customers. He quickly saw that the fireplace had never been serviced and explained what he was going to do. He Cleaned the entire thing top to bottom and fixed the problem of the pilot not staying on. Fantastic service and very personable.

Called after reading reviews on HomeStars and the reviews are very accurate. Imran is very pleasant and provides quality work at a fair price. When Imran left my home my fireplace was clean, in working order and my basement was warm. I emailed Imran but he does suggest to call him for quicker service.
