Needed a washer dryer set after our 2001 Kenmore washer started leaking and was deemed unfixable. Bought a matching set from Faulkners in January this year. Met Gord in person at the store. Very straight and knew his product info. cold. We were limited in that we needed a gas dryer (previous dryer was gas and when we re-modeled the basement we did not run a 220V line to the new spot where we had relocated the appliances). Faulkners deals primarily with Samsung, few other brands. This was OK for us because Samsung washers and dryers are top rated (along with LG) by Consumer Reports in this category. Later, closing the deal with Fauzi on the phone was quick and easy. They delivered well ahead of the date they committed to. I needed a gas tech to disconnect the old dryer and connect the new one. They put me in touch with their person Bob, who was very good (had to make two visits, one to disconnect, one to connect, but was very reasonable. Also had him do some re-routing of the gas line, which had not been laid properly by Sears all those years ago). Delivery personnel were good. Only issue was they would not take their shoes off (said they could not because they were moving heavy equipment). I get that, but it would have been nice if they had been carrying those slip on boot covers that I've seen other delivery people carry and slip on over their shoes. Delivery was on a rain-and-snow day, and as a result I still have muddy footprints on my basement carpet, despite their best attempts to clean their shoes before going downstairs. But for that would have been a 5/5.

Our 2007 Bosch dishwasher kept shutting off, making a grinding sound. Like it was trying to fill but no water flowing. had to make two calls, the first time the dishwasher worked fine. Second time it malfunctioned with him there. Turns out mice had chewed away at a part and the sensor that checked for flooding was shutting off the machine unnecessarily. Fixed and works fine now. Peter is trustworthy, arrives on time (!) and knows his stuff. A couple of repair guys refused to attempt a repair on a Bosch dishwasher, saying it was too intricate. Highly recommended.

First off.... a trades person who does a follow up call! How rare is that? Called Imran a few months ago in the fall to fix our 2005 Vermont gas stove. The pilot light had gone out, and even when we could get it going it didn't stay lit. He arrived on time, cleaned it out and it seemed fixed. He did warn us that one of the (multiple) sensors was weak. A week later... it stopped working again. Another call and visit, this time he thought it would be the sensor, so he bought that and brought it along (warned us that this call would be close to $500). Turns out it was just the on/off switch that was faulty. He could just as easily have said it was the sensor and we would have been none the wiser. Fireplace is working to this day. Trustworthy and knows his stuff. Highly recommended.

Excellent service. We've had our ducts cleaned twice before, but never so thoroughly. For example, no one had ever brought their hoses up to our upper floor before, relying instead on sucking out dirt from the basement end. . Cost wise they were at the upper end ($285 + HST), but not the most expensive, and worth every red cent. Our home is 1,600 sq. feet including a finished basement. The other quotes we got, all from the top rated companies on Home Stars, were $325, $$225, and $250 (2 companies). This includes cleaning our clothes drier vent. So they were close. Small touches count. E.g. they took the time to explain everything, before and even as they were doing the work, and didn't rush through the process. Our neighbor was having a yard sale next door, and they walked over (unprompted) to apologise for the noise, angled their truck so that it minimised the disturbance, and handed out complimentary ear plugs to our neighbor and her friends (and us; never been offered that before). After they left my neighbor asked how they had done and said she had taken their business card. That's how businesses are built. Paul is the owner of a family owned business and it shows. They took two hours to do a job others had done in half the time. We'll have them back next time for sure.
