After more than 10 years, the ducts needed cleaning. So did the bathroom exhaust vents. Paul of Capps Duct Cleaning provided a clear explanation of how to prepare the house for their work. He arrived on time, explained clearly what was going to be done, took care in maneuvering the equipment around the house, warned about the noise level while he worked, and gave a good estimate on how long the work would take. All precautions needed due to Covid were also clearly followed. I would highly recommend Capps Duct Cleaning to anyone.

After 14 years of regular use, the bathrooms and kitchen backsplash needed a major restoration. Kaayla was perfect for the job. She worked meticulously and thoroughly to remove moldy caulking, clean grimy caulking, and scrub both types of tiles - ceramic and stone. She also sealed the floor tiles. She is the ultimate professional. Her responses to my questions were clear and thorough. She explained clearly what I could expect in terms of noise and inconvenience. She made sure that we continued to have access to at least one bathroom while she was working. Her quotes were specific and understandable. She kept her work area tidy. She showed me how to easily keep the tiles clean. I wish all tradespeople were like her. My bathrooms and backsplash are now as good as new! I am so satisfied and grateful to Kaayla.

Over time, I collected a number of small electrical problems that needed fixing. Mohammad came at the arranged time and dealt with each issue with efficiency. He also explained clearly how he fixed the problem and provided me with further steps to take when the issue required other skills outside his profession.

Greg explained clearly the work that he recommended be done and how long it would take. He came on the agreed upon days and times and did the work efficiently and professionally. He also cleaned up the work area thoroughly after each work day. Greg is a true professional.

It was a Sunday morning. My stove lost power. Then the electric circuit to which my modem was connected lost power also. As a result I lost both internet service and landline phone service. I relied on my neighbourhood paper-based yellow pages book to find Easy Electric, the only electrician that advertised 24/7 service. He came within 3 hours and spent 3 hours to replace two damaged breakers and he also fixed two electrical outlets which he said were not properly grounded. He then explained why the problem developed and recommended that the whole panel be replaced. Otherwise, similar problems would occur with the other breakers. He gave an informal estimate for this work. I intend to get second and third opinions.

Daryl came to assess the work on the appointed day. He clearly explained what needed to be done and gave an estimate. He came on the arranged date, did the work with efficiency, a high level of proficiency and care. He pruned remaining branches in such a way that the tree shape was preserved. The clean-up afterwards was thorough.

Royal York Roofing came as scheduled and repaired the flashing that had been damaged by a wind storm. They were prompt and efficient. And the replacement flashing matched the damaged one.

The spin cycle of my clothes washer was working erratically. Either it was not spinning at all, or it did not stop spinning automatically. The technician performed diagnostics and made some adjustments. He determined that the machine was still in good condition and explained to me what I needed to do if it happened again. I was relieved that no repairs were needed and also that the technician did not take advantage of the situation to perform unneeded repairs. I also learned a lot more about how washing machines work.

Just a few days before Christmas, the front right dual element on my Kenmore stove stopped working. Steve promptly and efficiently gathered all the relevant info, obtained the correct part and installed it. Through it all, Steve kept us informed of the timeline, came during the time period that he said he would, and did the work speedily and professionally.

During a service call to perform annual maintenance on our furnace, Alberto of LB Heating and Air Conditioning noticed some problems in our 10-year old furnace caused by our 10-year old AC. Ted offered options and we decided to replace both units. The installations were done in a day efficiently and professionally. We look forward to enjoying the upgraded appliances and the energy savings.

A woodpecker had made a big hole in one of the exterior stucco walls of our house. We needed to have it sealed up because extreme cold weather was forecast. World Wide Stucco came quickly, patched the hole and repainted the area with matching paint. They did an excellent job.

Fred replaced two stair posts, pickets and handrails. He took great care to ensure that the new sections matched the style of the rest of the back deck. Based on our satisfaction with this work, we asked him to build a fence to replace a deteriorating cedar hedge. Again, he built the fence according to the specifications provided jointly by our neighbour and us in such a way that each side of the fence blended with the existing structures it was facing. Fred and his assistants worked efficiently, explained issues clearly and found creative solutions for them. He gave reliable time and cost estimates. His work is of the highest quality.

Glen came when he said that he could, quickly identified the problem, fixed it skillfully, and re-installed the bi-fold door. It was exactly what was needed. We couldn't ask for better service than that.

Valentin responded quickly, explained the problems clearly, suggested and implemented reasonable fixes, worked efficiently and charged very reasonable rates. He was extremely careful not to create a mess and he cleaned up very well afterwards. He is the best plumber I have dealt with in 40 years. I will definitely call him again for future projects.

At the time of purchase we were highly impressed with the architecture of the space, the design choices made, the features included, the attention to detail, and the quality of the work by all of the trades involved. After four years, we continue to be impressed and to enjoy trouble-free and gracious living in it. In addition, when friends who are active in one or more of the building trades visit, they are invariably impressed and give unsolicited testimonials on the quality of the work they observe in our house. We highly recommend Kingsmill Homes as a builder of high quality.
