Can Do Fence just completed our fence project with 8 homes in Lorne Park, Mississauga and we are really happy! The finished product complements the architecture of each property, is well constructed and provides enough privacy with adequate security. Samer Karadsheh managed the proposal, contract and project in a very professional manner. We enjoyed working with him. And each contractor who worked on the fence build demonstrated their expert knowledge and experience. They would always take the time out to answer any questions. Can Do Fence has been in business for more than 25 years and their posted reviews consistently report excellent workmanship and quality. What really sets them apart is their honesty and integrity.

We recently had Home Air Systems (HAS) install a new vented gas water heater, and were initially very satisfied with their work (10*). However on the following day, we encountered an unforeseen issue that affected our experience. There was a very significant noise and vibration of approx. 70 db in the family room and kitchen under the floor when the blower was running. The noise and vibration was also louder than usual, due to a resonance (47 hz) in the vent. We initially just thought the problem was caused by the blower, since the assigned part number did not agree with the factory specifications. The manufacturer promptly provided a replacement under the warranty and HAS installed it. The noise and vibration level did not change. HAS returned again to tweak the installation of the vent which did not completely resolve the issue. HAS claimed the issue was with the blower and the manufacturer stated the PVC vent was not installed correctly. We were left with fixing the issue ourselves and their charge was reduced to reflect this. The rating for HAS reflects our mixed experience with their installation and the customer support provided.

This is our second year with Home Air Systems and the team just came by to do the annual air conditioning maintenance. Al and Mat did an excellent job. In addition to inspecting and testing the a/c, Al added some refrigerant and boosted the cooling efficiency. That was amazing. In the end we noted a 14% increase in the cooling efficiency when you measure the temperature of the air before and after the a/c. Home Air Systems is highly recommended.

Home Air Systems is rated in the top quartile for HVAC firms in our area on Home Stars with customer reviews which are very noteworthy. The technician approached our air conditioner problem in the same manner that a seasoned project manager would take. The issue was diagnosed in a very timely and cost effective manner. He offered several options to complete the repair, along with a recommendation. He also answered all our questions, which were easy for us to understand. He is a seasoned entrepreneur with integrity, who truly enjoys helping out his clients.

We purchased a York (ClimateCare brand) air conditioning system from Halton Peel ClimateCare (HPC) in 2012, which had a 10 year warranty on all parts. The warranty was confirmed on the invoice, which was prepared and signed by the owner. ABW Air Systems purchased the HPC business in 2015. The evaporator coil and TX valve failed this week after 9 years and our A/C stopped working. The technician informed us that the coil was manufactured by ADP and not York. We contacted ABW about the 10 year parts warranty. ABW checked with ADP and there was only a 5 year warranty on that coil. ABW was only able to cover the manufacturer warranty in this situation and unfortunately just offer a replacement coil at full retail. As a last resort we reached out to ClimateCare Canada. Our challenging warranty claim was cleared within 3 business days and the air conditioning system was back up and running.

In 2014 this company during a routine maintenance, shut off our furnace and confirmed that it needed to be replaced. According to their licensed repair person it could not be repaired. We contacted another company who checked the furnace and it was perfect. As of today this furnace is still operating. We just looked up Halton Peel today since the York air conditioning system that they installed for us in 2012 has stopped working. The evaporator coil and tx valve were identified as the source of the ac failure. They substituted a York coil with an ADP without our authorization and we are no longer eligible for the 10 year manufacturer parts warranty. This will cost us about $1,500. We also learned today that Halton Peel Heating (Halton Peel ClimateCare) is no longer in business.

It is not that often that you find an outstanding professional and firm in the heating services industry in the Metro Toronto area. Mack from Laird and Son assisted our family with a very expensive and cold issue that suddenly arose last Friday. Background During a routine annual maintenance visit by another firm on Friday, our gas furnace was checked by their certified technician and shut down immediately due to a claimed cracked heat exchange unit. The technician left us on that cold night without any heat in the house and temperatures just below zero. The crack in the heat exchange unit was a surprise since it still had a remaining life of 13 years under the factory warranty. Furthermore none of our CO gas detectors in the house had gone off. The contractor offered two options after shutting down our furnace. A new furnace could be installed on Monday or we could wait about 10 days for a replacement heat exchange unit. Contribution by Laird & Sons We contacted Laird and Son on Saturday morning for assistance and Mack came out late in the afternoon even though we were not a customer. Mack explained that his first priority was to service any calls from existing clients. At approximately 6:00pm he arrived at our home. He could have easily deferred our service request until Monday. He quickly determined that our contractor had not completed the appropriate tests of the furnace as defined by the Technical Standards & Safety Authority (TSSA). Within one hour he determined that there was no crack and the furnace was back on. Even though it was quite late Mack patiently reviewed for us all the tests he completed to ensure that the furnace met the TSSA safety code. We would like to recognize Mack for his expert assistance and the professional manner in which he conducted himself. It goes without saying that Laird and Son once again has demonstrated their leadership in delivering an amazing client experience. I would highly recommend Laird and Son to anyone looking for a heating and air conditioning specialist and find out if Mack is available.
