Professional and attentive. Paul was a one man cleaning machine. He took care of my 2 story house and was very hardworking. I have used The Duct Cleaning Specialist many times before, they are my go to cleaners.

Alex came to quote me on a basement apt paint job. After discussing some possible add on repairs, I decided to stick to painting and some small handyman work (change light fixtures, dr handles, hinges). 3 painters and their supervisor Lauran arrived. After discussing the scope of paint and drywall prep, the crew got started. The agreement was that they would work on site for 2-3 days, I dropped off some fixtures that the lead paint guy said he would be able to handle. On the last day I did a quick walk through, and noticed a number of issues-- including much of the handyman work I was paying for, not completed. Shocked I contacted Lauren. They returned a day or so later. I spent the time to mark with tape all the issues: A missing wall mirror, a section of a wall unpainted, paint on outlets, blinds, laminate flooring covered a paint splatter, frig, sink, washing machine, plumbing, unfilled cracks/holes and the list goes on. It was like they 'painted' with their eyes closed. Lauren apologized and was willing to hear me out. The painters on the other hand, not so much. The lead guy became extremely irate. As we moved from one issue to the next, he became agitated. Before I was able to walk through everything with them, the painter did something that scared the crap out of me. He pretended to punch a wall with both hands-- I guess out of frustration, anger?????.... I don't know. As soon as that happened, I requested to have the painter leave the property asap, and never to return. As there was still repairs needed, Lauren arranged to have 2 different painters return on another day. After 2 additional days to fix everything the first crew did, everything was finally done -- 2 week after the initial start date. The final product still required some scrubbing and paint removal from various spots, but I decided I would do that myself. A few days later I got a new invoice from Lauren. Due to the additional days of work needed in the unit, the new total was $3600+. I was surprised to have to explain why I was not going to pay the new amount. In the end I paid $3200 +. NEVER AGAIN! WHAT A NIGHTMARE!

Dan was asked to remove an old l-shaped bulkhead and half of 2 kitchen walls, to be redone for a new kitchen install. He worked the entire day by himself. The first issue came up a few hours in, after spending the first hr on a personal call. He accidentally severed an electrical wire that he was able to see in plain view. He stated he would have had to cut a wire anyways because of 2x4s frames that were getting in the way, frames that were going to be removed, it didn't occur to him that he could just cut wood instead of a wire??!! Around 5 pm he informed us that he was done. We gave him lots of time and space as not to get in his way, so when we went in to see his final work we were shocked. Even though the walls would be covered with cabinets, everything was rough and uneven. The drywall tape was sparse, and most joints had no tape or mud on them at all. I had to ask him to tape up all the joints and make it actually look 'finished'. He was tired and really didn't want to, but he spent another 1-2 hr taping and mudding. It was late and we were all tired and pretty unhappy with the 2nd effort. The mud was not flattened out, I guess he didn't have a trowel with him or something?? that's the only thing I could think of why someone would leave it looking so bad. It was very amateur looking and not at all like something an experienced professional would do. The tape and mud were once again sparse, like he wanted to save on his material. When we paid him he said he should have charged $900 because of the extra work with the wiring!!!!! We paid him $850 and he left. Soon after, I texted him back asking him to return to address a corner wall that was chewed up and just plain wrong. A backsplash is going to be a part of the corner and there is no way anything will adhere flat to the surface the way he left it. He came 4 days later, after cancelling once. His first response to the corner was "just ask the tile people to fix it". I explained I was hoping to do the backsplash myself and would appreciate the wall being flat or sanded out, not to mention that he was paid for the work. Unfortunately because of some other reno happening in the kitchen at that very moment, Dan could not get access to the area, nor was he willing to wait. As he walked out of the kitchen he mumbles something about "wow that kitchen looks like 15K, and.... 1K for me" or something I couldn't understand him. I think he was complaining about nickel and diming him. He left us with a corner bead to fix the corner, nails and mud for us to fix ourselves. We still have more work to do in the kitchen that I thought we would hire Dan for, but not after this experience. He totally did not care about doing anything right.

Thankyou for choosing our services. While I try my best, some work is not foreseen and behind walls, or here, laid wires aren't expected in the bulkhead or drywall considerations met. It was brought up frequently beforehand in calls and prices were actually reduced, and you satisfied the extra drywall costs. Even a bat of insulation was spared. If someone works in my schedule and space it should be noted prior to coming too that my small work demands are not frustrated. Your backsplash will turn out well, as your cabinates show well hiding all the needed preparation.

AC broke down after 2 weeks of being maintained cleaned out. The 2nd tech came, did not call me as they are supposed to call before arriving. Within 5 min he ran off claiming the AC was frozen. When I called Reliance the ``advisor` insisted I make another appointment, when I was trying to figure out why the 2nd tech ran off. Turns out the tech left in his notes that no one was home, when there clearly was. Now I have been waiting for customer relations to call me back since yesterday as I have had to put in a compliant for all that`s happened. And no one has called back. For a company so big on customer satisfaction, I am surprised at their poor treatment of me and their unprofessional handling. I am left with an AC unit that does work and a $300 bill.

Overall very unhappy with this company. The person in charge of communicating what the customer wants and what the cleaners need to know did not rely anything to them. The cleaner arrived with zero information about what needed to be cleaned, and the cost. First cleaner Sophie arrived on time, she was ready to work but her partner Bill arrived almost 25 minutes late. Sophie was told that bc 2 cleaners were arriving that they would be done and be paid for 3 hours of cleaning, when I was told the cleaning would take until 5pm. Zero communication with the customer. It was clear that the work would take longer, and she was accommodating to stay and finish what was needed. Bill on the other hand was disorganized and frantic about how dirty a washroom was. He spent the majority of his time in a small 6x6 washroom. He also dusted 1 of 3 fans and a couple of ledges. Leaving out remaining fans and ledges, windows which I specifically asked to be cleaned. He did an AWFUL! job in the washroom. It didn't even look like he touched anything in there. It was so bad that Sophie had to clean everything he touched a second time. Bill also left early without telling me. I feel duped for having to pay for him. He did not clean anything. He snuck out and didn't even show me his work. I called the company's office and left messages, trying to get a hold of someone regarding the problems I was facing--nobody could be reached. Finally Sophie was able to call her supervisor Donna. Sophie corroborated my concerns, when I spoke with Donna she eluded that I would need to be charge more for more cleaning to be done, even the stuff that Bill didn't do. In the end Donna agreed to not charge me more. The only reason I paid the cost of cleaning ---$372! - was bc Sophie was so kind and helpful in making it right, something that I don't think the supervisor was interested in doing. Totally unprofessional company that over charges and don't have any qualms about employing incompetent workers like Bill. Now I have been trying to reach Donna for almost 3 days, and she leaves me a voice message with no contact number. Lets see how long this phone tag takes. Update its been almost 2 weeks and nothing from the supervisor. Dont waste your time with these hacks! Very angry and unimpressed.

Hello, We are sorry that we did not meet your communication needs. The information you are disputing was sent to you in an email prior to your clean. In the email it states that if 2 cleaners complete the work instead of 1, the time allocated will be cut in half but that you would not be charged more. E.g. 1 cleaner for 6 hours or 2 cleaners for 3 hours. It equates to the same time. In addition, the cleaner was advised of the specifics required for your cleaning service but it is important to us to meet client needs and we always request a walk through with the client to ensure we understand your requirements. If this step was repetitive for you, our apologies. Also, our main office is closed on weekends however our employees have access to a supervisor at all times. Our cleaners were in contact with 2 supervisors during your clean and it was agreed that one of our cleaners would stay until the clean was completed to your satisfaction. Lastly, we consider it unprofessional to comment on what you consider as incompetent especially since employee names have been used. We are however happy to hear that one was able to make it right for you!! As your transaction was closed and you agreed we got it right in the end, please call the office with any future concerns. Called 1 888 customer service, waited on hold for over 30 min, forced to hear the home star boasting, so here I am; starting ringing expecting to speak to someone, but I get hung up on. Called a 2nd time, waited another 20 mins, same thing happens, hung up on again. Called a 3rd time, 15-20 mins later I hear the ringing and finally someone answers. I explain to them what was happening for the last hr trying to call in, she actually laughs at me!!!!!!!!!! How unprofessional, if you are not locked in with them for anything, dont bother doing business with this company we are all just pawns to them. They dont care about satisfying their customers.

Very impressed with their kind and professional approach. Answered our inquires and we are happy with finally product. They took approximately 3 hrs, and did a thorough jobs. Originally asked to have AC and furnace blower cleaned, but b/c of how caked on the dust was on that equipment, the team was not comfortable charging for not being able to clean it 100%, so they did it free of charge! Really appreciated their effort. Got to see the before and after pics. Only criticism would be that the team should have been more mindful of the dust/dirt they left behind, and their equipment hitting our porcelain tiles and dragging around the hoses and pipes. Will definitely hire them again.

Hired Elbow Grease, recommended by word of month. When I made the appointment Auggy seemed helpful and willing. I explained what I needed cleaned, and I asked to have one person come in. They contacted me via email days before to remind me. On the day of the cleaning Auggy arrived an hour late, then she decided herself that a second person would be arriving to help her clean. Which meant I was now paying $37/hr instead of $20. At no time did she ask if that was ok, She explained it would be cheaper, but I could tell she was playing me. The cleaning was done in 2 hrs. After everything dried I could see that the kitchen counter was not touched, left dirty. The washroom floor was dirty, and the wind sills were still dusty and dirty. Door nobs were untouched. The only good thing I could mention is that they were polite and didn't mind when I poked around and asked questions. Also their site says minimum 3 hrs of cleaning, and they didn't mind getting it all done in 2 hrs. I forgot to get an invoice, the next day I called to requesting one to be emailed to me, Auggy said she'll send one "today or tomorrow morning" ....still waiting...........

I called this company after word of month referral. When I initially called I explained exactly what I was looking to have done. Basic stacker washer/dyer on my main floor, and that I wanted to have someone come take a look at what can be done. The lady on the phone sent Dan who got there in about an hr. He came in looked at the area that was prepared for the plumbing to begin as soon as I could find the right person. I was quoted for 850 tax included. It sounded reasonable and on par with what other's had quoted. So I said yes. First Dan mentioned he would need to brake open the drywall and weld then turn off all the water in the house. 2 hours went by and Dan said that the plumbing was complete. When I looked at what he had done I noticed he used plastic pipes instead of the copper that would have been used for welding, and that he only had 2 lines in; even a dim witted person would know that Landrys have 3 lines, 1 hot water, 1 cold water and drainage. Dan had only put in the hot and cold and forgot the drain. He's response was "Oh Yeah, expletive".....every second word out of his month was profanity.... It was clear that he had forgot. So before he would continue he asked to check codes or something so he went to his truck for 10 mins or so. When he came back he spent about 15 mins explaining what he would need to do to follow code. Lastly he adds that in order to do everything right it will cost 1800 plus tax. I was in complete shock! I would never have had Dan to begin any work if I had known what he would be charging. I was stuck, so I asked to speak to his supervisor. Malik was no more helpful, I was hoping he would come up with a solution, maybe give me a discount or something for Dan gross incompetence, but nothing was offered, well I was on the phone Dan got so offended that he didnt wait for me to get off the phone, when he decided for himself that he would cut the lines and leave. I had to ask him to settle down and let me finish talking to his sup. Dan was unwilling to compromise, he didnt see that I could not afford the price to had changed the cost to. And that he should have more carefully quoted me, did he not know that I required 3 lines for a landry? In the end I had to pay him 565 just to get him out. Never ever will I call these ppl again. I do not trust the employees, at bare minimum I wanted professional, knowledgeable and experience, which I did not get. I guess they can afford a bad review here and there.

Hello R.Mann, first and foremost, you had called in for an estimate, it was a free estimate for someone to come out and assess your project, and that if you did not agree to the work you can send the technician on his way. Upon arrival, our technician Dan assessed and gave you a price ONLY for the Water line service, drain work was not included in the price, you had signed and agreed to only do the water service because our price was very competitive and reasonable, we were the fourth company to come out and give you an estimate, you liked the price to run approximately 25ft of water line service and agreed to the price for the Water Line service so we went ahead and completed the work for you. And for your awareness, throughout Ontario, we extensively use plastic pipes when doing water lines for residential and commercial properties. When we quoted you for the drain, we left you an estimate for $1800+hst, this was before any work was started, to run approx 25ft of drain line, that included to break the concrete, run the drain line and re-cement the floor, you did not agree with the price and only wanted to pay $1300, we had informed you that we cannot do that type of work for that price you wanted to pay. On the written contract it states that you agreed and signed for the hot/cold Water line service and that we were not responsible for the drain work. We at New Canadian Drain & Plumbing are a VERY honest and reputable company and your accusations against us are unjust.

Hired Brent through real estate agent. Thought I was getting a good deal and that he was a knowledgeable professional. I was wrong, I do not recommend dealing with this company, either they don't care about doing it right, or they have incompetent people working for them. Brent missed a lot of stuff that was in plain sight. Brent missed electrical wires sticking out of sockets, I pointed them out and he couldn't tell what it was for, had to ask a real professional, after moving in, to find out. Had unsafe electrical wiring uncovered, and unprotected surrounding the outside of house, Brent failed to mention that it should be covered with a plastic cover or something. Lastly during the inspection I repeatedly asked about a whole in the back yard grass, he couldn't explain it, thought it maybe some type of plumbing/drainage or something. Turns out it was a GROUNDHOG! Spent over $300 to get rid of it! He was a total waste of money,

This was the second job I hired KC to do for me. I had KC return to drill the hole for my kitchen fan exhaust. Once again he did not disappoint. A Consummate professional and very skillful handyman. He and his team did just as wonderfully on this job as in the past. They had the job completed within a reasonable amount of time, they were hard working, and cleaned up after themselves before leaving. Thanking KC again for a job well done.

KC recently came into to work on my basement kitchen. The only thing he had to work with was rough in pipes. He came in and within one day installed plumbing, sink, counter top and taps; he did an amazing job. He went above and behind by levelling our cabinets perfectly for no extra charge. He was very helpful and knowledgeable about the work I required. KC was patient and answered all our questions. When they finished KC and his assistant cleaned up and left the room in good shape. I plan on hiring KC to also drill the hole for my kitchen exhaust fan. Definitely a professional gentleman who knows what he doing.
