Dryer broke - put the request out and Sergei responded right away. He was here when promised. Quickly diagnosed the problem and showed me the issue (fried component on the circuit board)). He offered 2 options to fix it - 1 replace (provided all costs), 2 fix. I went with the fix and he was able to spend a bit of time replacing the fried component and and getting the dryer working again. Super speedy, professional, and nice to deal with. Would use him again if anything else goes wrong in my house.

Very happy with the service I received from Toronto Electric. It started with the questions about the job and arranging the visit. Very thorough and professional. When Abdul came by he was great... even when he struggled with an outlet at the back of the house that had rusted to the house after 12+ years.

My fridge was literally on the fritz. The temperature was changing every time I opened the door and my fridge had frozen most of my food. I gave Joe a call, he asked me what model fridge I had, let me know he was in the area (luckily) and in an hour and a half he was fixing the fridge. Even more lucky, he brought the circuit board ($230) that my fridge needed with him. No waiting for an order and a return visit - he was able to diagnose, repair the problem and let me get on with my day. This is my second time using Joe, he is personable, professional and practical. He gave me quite a few tips about my maintenance for my appliances while he was here and he even managed to address a problem I was having with my stove while he was here. Highly recommend him, his work is fantastic.

We selected Gary and team to replace the eavestroughs on our house because of his professionalism and attention to detail during the quote process. The work was done as promised and the communication via email was excellent. He provided detailed information on all the questions I had (I had a lot) and follow up service when I noticed that there was a small issue.

The Duct Cleaning Specialists were great. It started with a prompt return call after I asked for more information from the web. They outlined the costs for the services. They showed up on time, walked me through their assessment of my duct work (It didn't need a full duct cleaning as it was quite clean already) and proceeded to do an excellent job of cleaning out my return air vents, sanitizing the system and cleaning out surface debris (i.e. cheerios in the vents). I was offered advice on how to maintain my system and they even managed to pull out a register that the previous owners had lost / dropped down a 20 foot vent!. Great service, a real pride of workmanship and nice guys too. Highly recommend them to others.

The team from Umbrella came by with a moisture detector and checked all areas of my basement during the initial visit for the estimate. Having isolated where the leak originated I was able to obtain a quote on the cost of repair. The quote was as good or better than the other 2 quotes I received. The team showed up on time, did the job and in 90 days time (as agreed) out the outside patio stones back in place. We have had no leaks since the work was done. All in all a great experience, the patio stones could have been laid a little better.

Valentin came through for us. We discovered a leak on Sunday night, and gave him a call. He gave us advice that night and saved us a substantial amount of money as he was able to talk us through slowing the leak to a trickle. By waiting until the next day he didn't have to bill us for an emergency after hours repair. He came by on time, fixed up the leak with a new pipe and valve and was great. He even had booties for his shoes to keep my house clean. He was upfront with his estimated price and stuck to the estimate when the work was done.

Craig came by to give us a quote and walked me through what was required and recommended. He laid out two options and promised he would meet my timeline (as I had just received an order from the city). Craig came by when the job was done and wrote up a report that I could submit to the city. His crew came when he said they would and did an excellent job. Everything that we had talked about was done as they had promised. As a bonus, my son got a real kick out of watching his crew climb through the trees and lower the branches down to the ground by rope (or just plain gravity). I felt bad, as they were there longer than was expected. They cleaned up my yard and even provided me with firewood for my fireplace.

My oven's bake function wasn't working - after talking to the people at KitchenAid, and determining that they could narrow down a service window to about 5 hours, at an obscene rate, I decided I could do better. I didn't know how much better until Joe, the appliance guy came by. I called late on a thursday night and received a phone call first thing Friday and arranged to have The Appliance Guy come in at lunch that day! He came evaluated the problem and went to work fixing it. He was very careful and considerate ensuring that my floor didn't get scratched when he needed to move my stove. After he fixed the problem and verified that it worked, I casually mentioned some other items I was having with my dishwasher, fridge and washer. Joe took a quick look, performed some preventative maintenance on my dishwasher (which has turned a pathetic tired old machine into a spirited helper that actually cleans dishes) and provided suggestions to make my fridge work better and reposition my washer. Joe was incredibly knowledgeable and thorough. I highly recommend his work and he made booking an appointment easy.

We were looking to get our shower tap replaced as it would no longer allow us to change the temperature. We talked to Giorgio and he not only spent the time to research the fixture we had, but managed to identify it and track it down. Noticing that a replacement would be costly, he actually researched a way that I could try to fix it myself. He was incredibly thorough - and this was all by way of digital images and phone conversations. Using his suggestion, it seems to have solved the problem. Though he never made it to my house - he didn't have to - that was the best service I've had in a long time. I would gladly refer everyone to Giorgio if I ever run into any problems, he will be the first person I call.

After a few problems scheduling service, Oris showed up to move a fixture in my bathroom (merging 2 fixtures into 1 in a different location). He did a good job and ensured that the new fixture was centered and checked to ensure that there were no problems when he closed off the other fixtures. Oris also went through my house with me to address a number of concerns that were raised in a home inspection I had. We went through and he pointed out the items that did need to be changed immediately and those that were not an immediate issue and could wait. The changes he made met with my satisfaction and I'm very happy overall with the work that was performed.

We used Laird and Son as the previous owners of our house had the furnace installed by them. I'm not sure if this was normal, but they re-scheduled our maintenance appointment 3 times after not having it written down on their work order during the first visit. The rescheduling was somewhat problematic, as there was not a lot of notice in each case. When they finally showed up, the first person to inspect the furnace, commented that the previous installer (now a former Laird and Son Employee) did a really poor job installing the furnace. I had to ask him to repair a number of issues with the ducting and poor joins. When he was done the maintenance he stated that there was a leak in the gas line and he had to get someone else in to repair the leak as he couldn't do it himself. The second person showed up and said that the fitting was old and they would have to replace it with a more recent type and left. They nicely provided me with Electric Space heaters. In the afternoon, two older service men showed up, took a look, tightened the pipe and said it was good to go. I asked why the first two guys couldn't fix the leak, they said that they didn't know - they simply tightened the valve and it was fine. This experience did not inspire confidence in their operation or the types of people that they are employing. UPDATE - Laird in Son did manage to get a hole of me, I spoke with their sales manager who did indeed offer to 'make it right'. An appointment was booked, the two technicians came by on time - as promised and plugged up the holes in the duct work around the furnace. This has led to better heat distribution and less wasted heat in the furnace room. I appreciate the fact that Laird and Son followed up and were willing to correct what needed correcting.

Arrived on time, did an excellent job and honoured the quote he provided me over the phone. Not only that, he cleaned up after he was done and bagged the gutter waste ready for collection by the city. I'd hire him again.
