these people are incompetent gangsters. They are nothing but snake oil salesmen. Do not use their so called "service". They will make up excuses and blame you for their crap work. The words i wanted to use have been edited out. Under no circumstances, do you use this company, I wouldn't let them shovel snow from my neighbor's driveway.

fraudulent fridge repair

Tip Top Appliance Repair sent Flavio to repair my fridge. Ice kept forming a the bottom of the freezer drawer. He charged me $240 without correcting the problem. When I Called Tip Top Appliance first time they told me to defrost the fridge for 48 hours. This was after I payed for a complete repair. At the time of the repair the tech did not tell me I would have to do anything further . He took the money and ran and Tip Top stood behind him. Tip Top Appliance told me it would cost additionally for a part and labour. This after I payed for a repair that never happened but for which $240 was paid.

Stove repair

My stove wasn't working so I foolishly called these people without checking homestars. The person pretended to check the stove and then told me that he didn't know which board was broken so they both need to be replaced. He quoted $600 to for the cost of the two boards and $280 for the labor. So that's over $900 with tax. I can buy a new stove for that much and that's what I said! I lost $55 dollars for this useless waste of time and money. I had another company come and they said it was the one board for the oven, the relay for the bottom oven element was the problem and the estimate was $160 for the board and $80 for the labor.

First Attempt At Dishwasher Repair - Epic Fail

This review is for the company with the website www.tiptopappliance.ca

First of all, our appointment was scheduled for 6:00 pm. At 7:00 I called the company and was told someone was on their way. Flávio showed up at 8:00 and barely apologized (he explained that he was assigned two jobs at 6:00 and simply chose to go to the other job first).

In removing the panel from our dishwasher, Flávio cracked the screw sockets and corners. He did genuinely spend at least 20 minutes trying to figure out why the dishwasher wasn't getting power. Ultimately, he determined that since "everything looked good" it must be an electrical problem and that we should call an electrician. Then (and I should've known better) Flávio offered to check something else but said this would be beyond the $60 diagnostic fee. He offered to do the extra "work" for $100 cash. Ultimately, all he did was remove the panel at the bottom of the dishwasher look at it and then come to the same conclusion as before. I was foolish for agreeing. We had another repairperson come and take a look and quickly determine that the issue was with the control board and had it fixed in a few days.

We will NEVER contact Tip Top Appliance Repair again.

Refrigerator Ice Maker Repair

I contacted this company to repair the ice maker in my 2 year old Kenmore fridge on Sep 4/15. It was producing ice, but at a very slow rate. The technician - Joe - came on Sep 5/15.

It was quickly evident that Joe was not fully trained. He spent most of the call on the phone with someone getting instructions. He was speaking Hebrew on the phone - which my roommate understood and translated for me.

After a couple of hours of taking everything apart he replaced a thermostat and went on his way.

The ice maker was not repaired. I called back on Sep 7/15. Joe returned on Sep 9/15. He opened the ice maker (which I hadn't done since I'd checked it on the 7th when it had only a few cubes), saw that it was 3/4 full of ice and declared it repaired. Since I hadn't checked it since the 7th when I'd called back I assumed he was correct.

After he left I was suspicious, so I bagged the ice that was in the ice maker and waited. Day one, 5 cubes. Day 2, a few more and so on. It still wasn't working properly.

I called back on Sep 14/15 and spoke to Dan, the Manager who told me he'd speak with Joe and get back to me.

At 2:56 pm on Sep 15/15 I called the main office and asked for Dan again. I was told he was gone for the day. When I commented about his hours of work the very rude "customer service rep" told me "Dan doesn't work for you, he is the boss." My being a dissatisfied customer didn't seem to concern her at all.

It's now October 14, 2015. I have called the technician and/or the main office over 20 times. I was promised on Sep 30/15, by Joe the technician, that he and his boss would be here to repair my fridge on Oct. 2/15. Well, that didn't happen. No call, nothing.

They have a 60 day money back guarantee and the clock is ticking. According to Joe I will get my money back if they don't complete the repairs in that time period. I'm not holding out much hope.

I do not recommend this company!
