We purchased a house that had an older valor fireplace which obviously had not worked for many years. Jeremy first checked the model to ensure he could get parts (which would save a service call charge) then he cleaned it and had it working in one short service call. We were very happy with his service and would recommmend him.

Yes it can be helpful to have the model number in advance. I have a fully stock van but there are hundreds of fireplaces out there. Another plus, I am half the price of the local Valor dealers.
