The plumbing coverage was great for our previous residence. It is just very frustrating that when we signed up the way I understood the terms was that if you cancel before the 12 months is up you pay out the rest of the year, which I was like ok, it was being offered for 7.50 per month for the first year. But now that I moved into a new house because my husband is in the canadian military and we unexpectedly got posted, I no longer wanted the coverage. Since our "anniversary date" (which when the product was sold to me I understood was once you had the product for a year) is in january I need to pay 100 dollars or keep the plan until our next "anniversary date". Im not saying the terms dont say this, im saying it is easy to mistake them and makes me feel negative towards my experience with the company.

I cancelled my protection plan almost a year ago and they are still billing me for it. They are sending it off to collections to ruin my credit for a service I cancelled. No one in customer service has been helpful. Very Dissatisfied.

Signed up for Direct Energy Home Protection Plan about three months ago. I have had three calls for service to my air conditioner. The service was completed in 24 hours to my satisfaction every time. The technicians were friendly ,polite and very knowledgeable in their trade. I would reccommend Direct Energy to everyone.

When i signed up for the protection plan i gave them my boiler name and model and they confirmed that they will cover it. But when the time came "SORRY WE DO NOT COVER YOUR BOILER". And they charged me for the initial service call when it should have been included with the protection plan. DO NOT BUY THEIR SERVICE PLAN. SAVE YOUR TIME AND MONEY.

The staff at Direct Energy have been excellent from our very first contact with them (call centre - sales representative and installation crew). Mark Midgley is extremely knowledgeable and professional as were the crew that worked on the installation - John, Maverick and Michael! Thank you guys for an excellent job!

I was very happy with Direct Energy. They sent out a technician who showed me how to adjust the heat on my hot water heater and who was friendly and efficient. And he wore booties to cover his shoes! He came right on time and did the work well and quickly and gave me advice.

Signed up for appliances and furnace protection plan. They said 50 bucks a month. Agreed and paid monthly. The never said is like an insurance plan. Paid from 2007 till I sold the house in 2013. Hardly used it maybe for furnace and one plumbing issue. Now moved to a new house and wanted to cancel. The said you have to pay another 400 dollars for the remainder of the year, even though you sold the house. Day time Robbery!!!

One of the best experiences with the staff in the call centre. They dealt with my request very promptly. I am not good at repairing stuff. I saw a leak and I simply called them. They informed me about the one day service program and also mentioned the cost as $179. It was actually during the heat wave last month. Both the technicians were at my door step by 7 pm the same day I called. They were very friendly and knowledgeable. They explained the problem and fixed it very quickly. They left the furnace room clean and tidy! Also they called me last week to remind about my yearly inspection, which is already booked. I highly recommend their AC and Furnace maintenance/repair plan. Its completely worth it.

Over the past year I have called in a few issues with regards to plumbing. I have had bad plumbers come by mostly contractors that DE sent out. Each time DE sent out one of there master plumbers I have been nothing but satisfied. Going forward all I ask for is a DE employee and don't have any issues. As long as they don't send out a contractor you will be extremely happy with there service. Another negative is that not all toilet company parts are included.

My hot water tank rental failed and due to changes in the building code the valve needed to be replaced. Had their tank not failed the valve could have remained. I contend it is their responsibility to upgrade to code compliance as it was their rental failure. They deny any responsibility and the charge remains. They also say I have a contract that I signed when the new tank was installed. I contend that I was signing that the work was being done, not signing a contract.
