I wrote about Arian last year because of his incredible in person home visit re my Central Vac. system. I was so impressed by him that I vowed that I would never consult anyone else for all my Central Vac needs . This time around I needed to go in person to the Thornhill location as my hose was clogged ....and there was nothing we could do to unclog it . I called Arian , and he said to bring it in and they would take a look and see what could be done . Turns out my 8 year old sucked up a rock and some gravel ..go figure . No problem for team Amati . 24 hours later and not only was my hose clog free but they even tightend the screws in the handle . Basically giving me a brand new hose for next to nothing . Amati is honest and reliable . There was no tricky sales pitches to get me to upgrade ( the hose is over 30 years old ! ) and the price was more than reasonable . I will never trust anyone but them .

I have lived in my home for 15 years and never used the Central Vaccum until this past summer . Neither my husband and I grew up with Central Vac , or had used it previously and since our home was built over 30 years ago , I wasn't sure if our unit was even functioning . Turns out it is but the suction has been horrible and progressively got to the point where it made no sense to use it anymore . I knew enough to trouble shoot and understand that it was out hose that was clogged , but no matter how hard I tried I could not unclog it . I finally caved and decided to call in the professionals . I like to support local businesses , so I Googled ' Central Vacums ' for my area and up came Amati Home Systems . Naturally I checked out HomeStars to see their reputation and then send off my Quote Request . Instantly, several Service Providers called me immediately . I spoke to a few . Arian from Amati received my business because of his extensive product knowledge , his professionalism , his ability to immediately come to my home and MOST IMPORTANTLY , HIS HONESTY . Like ALL of you here , no one likes to get ripped off or taken advantage of and there certainly seems to be a fair amount of fraudulent , or less trust worthy providers of every type of service . I had one individual tell me that I would need a new Unit ....THIS without even having seen my existing one . I explained that the motor sounded fine and suction was great and I honestly didn't think that a brand new unit was required . He quoted me $1100 . I just needed the hose to be unclogged and one of the plates on one of my outlets to be replaced ?! Arian had me take several actions over the phone with me and then agreed to come to replace the outlet . He gave me the choice of bringing in my hose directly to him or he could also unclog the hose himeself when he came . When Arian arrived , he inspected my unit , tested it and magically unclogged my hose , he replaced my outlet plate that was damaged and then gave me some helpful tips for future use . He was honest , he was reliable and did all his work with a giant smile . He never tried to sell me anything that I didn't need and never took advantage of my lack of working knowledge . He now has my business for life !! Including when I need to eventually replace my Central Vaccum Unit . Thank you Arian . Appreciate your honesty and patience.

My Husband and I have known since we bought our home 10 years ago , that we would need to replace the windows. It just seemed such a daunty task AND a large one ( our home is almost 4000 sq feet, obviously COST was a factor as well . We have received several quotes over the years AND still Optima Windows and Doors beat them . I was very impressed with the time and care that Chris took to explain everything to us . Where the windwows were designed , engineered and manufactured . The difference in quality of Optima Windows vs competitors and even the samples that he brought . It was nice not having to leave the comfort of our home and go to a showroom somewhere . Chris made this process quite easy. He listened intently to all of our concerns and answered all of our questions with a tremendous amount of patience and clarity . He took a walk through out home , every floor , every room , every window and offered his advice on style and type of window , he even went as far as to tell us which windows he felt did NOT need to be replaced in order to save on money ! How many contractors do that ? Shortly after our initial meeting , a professional and efficient man named Artur came and did our measurements . He was in and out with a flash ! Next came the waiting for our windows which was approximately 1 month and then miraculously last Saturday all of our windows were replaced ...IN 1 DAY !!! I was and still remain in shock and awe how quickly Optima was able to get the job done . Our windows were 30 years old , with wood frames , it was a big job and a very messy one , and yet Artur and his team consisting of Dimitri , Den, Roman and Yan , completed in all with smiling faces and polite demeanor. They even helped with the removal of some of our window treatments AND helped with our main living room ones ( our ceilings are 16 feet high in that room ) . Artur went above and beyond by creating a solution to a problem by one of our basement windows because of where our pool heater and pump are . I cannot say enough good things about this group of fine gentlemen . I can and will recommend Optima Windows and Doors to anyone and everyone . They are outstanding . As a matter of fact I am looking forward to using them again when its time to switch out our patio sliding glass doors . I will never use anyone else . Thank you Chris for sending out your sales rep to come knocking on our door that cold , wet , April day , or my family and I never would have benefited from such wonderful work !

I have deliberately waited to post this review . I wanted every kind of weather to be thrown at our roof and ensure that Sign Roofings work would stand up , and I am pleased to say it certainly has . We sustained damage to our shingles during a windstorm where shingles were lifted and in some spots completely missing . This was in the Spring 2018. I called a few companies here on Home Stars , and like all of you , fellow readers , did my homework . We got a few quotes and everyone seemed to be priced within the same range. For information purposes , our home is 3700 sq feet . One of the things that impressed me right away with Sign was that Jordan and Li , took the time to physically come out to our home to assess the damage . They did not base their price on a Google Satellite image of our home , or charge the going rate for our area . They charged for THE work . They got up on our roof and even TOOK Pictures with their phones to show us the damage , which included an ACTUAL HOLE , which neither my husband nor I were even aware of ! In the end , while Sign Roofing's quote was NOT the cheapest , we went with them because of the level of service they were providing from the start . Jordan and Li's extensive product knowledge was impressive to say the least . They took the time to not just explain the various shingles and options , but right down to the nails , used , glue and even the method that would be applied , including showing us the overlay pattern. They also guarantee the work and put it in writing . Its one thing for a contractor to " say '" that they stand by their work but when they are confident and secure in it they will put it writing which Jordan and Li did without being asked . Our roof was replaced in what could quite possibly be the hottest day of the summer . IT WAS a scorcher ! Yet their team arrived on time and immediately got to work . Now is the part where I spoke about the level of service ....we have a fairly large inground pool and were very concerned with debris and dirt , shingles, nails , etc , falling/flying into it . This could clog up our filters, pumps , etc . We explained this from the onset to Jordan and he assured us that every step would be take to protect the pool but obviously NOT guaranteed . Well , not only was our deck sparkling clean , but I was amazed to watch and observe as a worker was assigned to our back yard and whose sole duty was to clean up our deck as debris fell AND ensure nothing fell in the water !!! THAT IS SERVICE . NEXT LEVEL SERVICE !!! Our roof was completed the same day and they even managed to repair the roof on our pool cabana for FREE !! Subsequently since the work was completed , we have endured extreme heat , crazy rain storms , in one instance 8 cm of rain fell in under 1 hour ! Wind Storms so severe that a Tornado actually touched down a mere hour from us , AND OUR NEW ROOF HAS HELD UP !! As a matter of fact a neighbor who had his roof repaired 1 month before us , actually was missing shingles after he last wind storm . I would 100% recommend Sign Roofing Inc . We did in fact notice that quite a few homes in our area and on our street used them after us ...I guess they liked what they saw , and to that point Li was a true expert when it came to helping us choose the right colour for our roof . They left our eaves troughs and front yard spotless ...you couldn't even tell that they were here except for the fact that our roof is perfection .

This is my second time using 416 Clean and I KNOW that I will never use anyone else . I have a 2 year old and a 7 year old and therefore not a piece of furniture in my house has not been drawn on , painted on , spilled upon and dare I say a few bathroom accidents along the way . I have done a pretty good job cleaning my upholstery using a Bissell Cleaner but this Full Time Working Mom just couldn't keep up . I found 416 Clean here on Homestars and was quite impressed with how quickly Adel returned my call and furthermore how quickly he was able to schedule me in . Rafael and Daltony showed up on time and with booties on . Big Smiles and ready to tackle a mess of stains that I truly did not think could ever come out ! Within just a few short hours I had BRAND new furniture . I was in shock . They also cleaned my outdoor patio cushions with ease . This time around I again had my living room furniture done but also asked for my stairs too . Again , pure amazement . I will only ever use 416 Clean and HIGHLY recommend them to everyone for all your cleaning needs .

I had called several companies besides Cozy Comfort but no one seemed to answer . In the end I had 3 come to my home and make their various recommendations re our 30 year old Gas Fireplace . It still worked and my husband was against replacing it but I was worried and figured we were on borrowed time , plus I needed an update and was tired of looking at it . Clearly the previous home owner had done zero maintenance or upkeep . Brian came to my home the same day I called . He took his time and explained all my options to me , including what each model would look like and how it would or would not fit my family's lifestyle and/or needs. He was very courteous and I did not feel pressured to buy . Even when I called him over 1 week later ( lost his business card ) he was enthusiastic and understanding . There was no waiting time as the same week I ordered the work to be done , his workers showed up. I loved that I did not have to wait . Hamid and Mohammed were polite , friendly and very very fast . They were able to remove my old fireplace , cut my brick ( masonry ) and install my new one in 2 hours . I was shocked . Hamid especially was very helpful, explaining every step of the way what he was doing . I will always use these guys for any future projects and recommend them to everyone .

I am so impressed . I contacted a few companies here on Homestars and Adel was the first to get back to me . That was a sure sign of things to come. Within just a few days , 2 Miracle workers dressed as Upholstery Cleaners showed up at my front door , their names were Rafael & Daltony , and for the life of me I have no idea how they were able to transform my sectional couch, huge pillows and armchair back to brand new , but they did it. ..and they smiled the whole time that they were working ! I have a 6 year old & a 22 month old and the furniture was so dirty that even I refused to sit on it. Stains that I had tried in vain to remove have magically disappeared . I am considering this an Easter Miracle !! By the way , 3 days later & my house STILL smells amazing from whatever product that they used . Also , I had them clean my outdoor patio cushions , same reaction . AMAZING ! I will ONLY ever use THIS company , if I could give more than 5 stars for just the personality of the workers I would . Incredible gentlemen . 10 Stars still would not be enough .

I called Joe to come out and take a look at our 10 Year old Dishwasher ...we moved into our home 5 years ago and in truth it never really has worked properly , but finally completely gave out . Joe came quite promptly , took a look and agreed that our front panel was shot . He took a look and took it apart and it really was a disaster . He could fix it but it would cost us $250 and it would make more sense to just replace the dishwasher . I appreciated his honesty . He was also great about sharing his knowledge on what models to steer away from and which ones would be worth our money . Exactly 1 week later , our fridge died , specifically the freezer . In a panic because of all the meats and foods going bad I called Joe and asked him to come a.s.a.p. , which he did . Thankfully it was not our compressor but still there was work to be done and parts to be replaced. Joe did it all in a very efficient and professional manner and then waited patiently for my husband to return from the bank with his cash . I now have Joe on Speed dial and will without a doubt be using him for all future services.

I was given Peter Lewis's name and phone number off of a referral and after 3 major projects completed and a 4th one he is working on as I type this , I feel like I owe the person who referred him a ton of gratitude and affection ! As the company name suggests, Peter is a Artist , and has somehow parlayed that into Landscape and stone work . His ideas can range from fresh, exciting and innovating , right down to classic and contemporary , just explain to him what it is you envision and he will help make your dreams a reality . We had a leak in our basement , which meant digging down 6 feet to repair a crack in our foundation , when it came to replace all the stone work and interlocking stones , there was only one person I could think of and hat was Peter and his team . He came out too a look and went straight to work , even repairing a patch that was uneven and fixing our side deck/step in the process. Naturally last year when it came time for our entire backyard surrounding our pool to be redone , I called Peter . He knew exactly how to work around our existing deck and was able to ensure a smooth finish to each and every interlocking stone . The care and time he takes is evidenced throughout his work. His attention to detail and perfection ensures grade A quality work. He is currently working on the re-design and execution of a new garden area for me , tricky work as we have an inground sprinkler system, but not for Peter. He works carefully and attentively , and is also mindful of not getting and soil or debris in our pool . I would recommend Peter and his team to anyone and everyone looking to have Landscaping , stone work, or even design completed . His prices are more than fare and he is always willing to work with his clients to find something that his comfortable and within their Budget . He does not have a website ...I think he might not need one since he gets so much work off refferals , but feel free to contact me with any questions . I will post pictures here of all his various projects once my garden is completed . In the mean time if you are looking for a personal touch instead of some huge company and you want someone who truly loves what he does and has extensive product knowledge give Peter a call .

Like all of you good folks here on Home Stars , I did my research . Our Air Conditioner lovingly lasted for 24 years but it was time for a new one . I called around , and even was offered a FREE air Conditioner from Reliance if I installed a new Furnace . ..But there was nothing wrong with our furnace and we had no real intentions of replacing it . I called a few companies that were rated in 9's and 8's as well as in the 10's ( thinking that the TOP company Cozy World ) would also probably be the most expensive , as that has been my experience in the past on Home Stars ...and I am a big believer in ' You get what you pay for " I called at least 4 different companies with 10 Star ratings , 2 got back in a timely fashion , all providing quotes over the phone . Fred from Cozy world got back to me the quickest .....and then instead of quoting me over the phone , showed up at my house to look at the work itself in order to quote me properly . Well , I hate to sound cheesy but " He had me at Hello " . Fred took his time , saw that our home was over 3500 square feet , and knew what it would take to cool /heat this large of space . He did not try to push me into buying a new furnace but explained how much more efficiently our A/C would run by us having both the furnace and A/C installed together , also of course the money that would be saved in the long run and the money saved by us doing it all at once. One of the things holding us back was the fact that we have about 20 filters for our furnace that we purchased at around $40 per filter , and we didn't want to waste them , and didn't think Home Depot would take them back . We always seem to have a hard time finding our exact size , so when Home Depot had them on sale last year my husband bought as many as he could . Fred carefully examined the situation and then came up with an ingenious solution , he would custom build us a 'boot' to hold the filter !!!! Then he told us that he would sell us the filter directly in the future for 50% cheaper than what we were paying at Home Depot !!!! Yep Folks , it was love . If all this wasn't enough to convince us , his price certainly was . My Husband is currently not working so money for us is very tight , Cozy World , hands down had come in at the best most affordable price . WITHOUT QUESTION , and because I explained our financial situation to Fed, he provided us with 3 , THREE, different quotes , so that we would not feel pressure and could go with what was in our price range and feel comfortable . I don't think I have ever met a contractor who was so personable, so professional and so accommodating all in one . The day of installation had Cozy World at our Door at 830am , first thing they did was lay down cloth sheets and cardboard to protect my floors and stairs , then they went straight to work , and worked for 12 hours straight !! I felt so bad to see them working in the rain and offered coffee, tea ,a bite to eat , but they just kept smiling and working , IN THE POURING RAIN !!! I am so eternally grateful to Fred and Cozy World . They did such an amazing job , our new Furnace is whisper quiet and half the size of our old one . Our new A/C sits proudly on a new Stone Bracket that Fred built ( he is very creative ) . I hope I do not need to call Fred or his team in the near future and that there are no problems with his work , but I do know that I will NEVER call anyone else for my HVAC needs and will without exception , refer him and Cozy World to everyone and anyone I know . If you are still reading this review , do yourself a favour , save yourself the time, headache and aggravation of calling around for quotes . Endless hours of research, reviewing websites and of course reading up on HomeStars , led me to FranMac , also known as Decks R Us ( with an amazing website for decks ) . I , like many of you , did my homework and had a few of the Top rated deck companies come out to our house and offer me quotes . FranMac was not only the lowest , BUT the most knowledable and helpful . Frank ( owner ) returned my call within 24 hours just like his site stated and showed up at my house within days . This is when I learned that he also owns Decks R Us . Which explains why this man is a pillar of knowledge !! Everything and anything you can think of that involves constructions , repairs or home imporovement , HE Knows . He sized up my deck and listen as I explained my vision and what I would like to see happen , well not only did he better my ideas , he added some flair and creativity to the project , and the end result , is a beautiful wood deck , which is encased in glass rails , a new gate , and has been re-enforced ( our exisiting deck is on its last legs ; ) ) . From the day of of the estimate to finish time , 4 days !! I am so impressed I have already promised him the project when its time to re-build the deck or when we have more money , which ever comes sooner ! LOL ! Once we got talking and I realised the breadth of Franks knowledge and expertise , I realised that since he gave me such a good deal on my deck, I might have enough $ to re-do my front entrance and have the stairs done. Immediately Frank knew what we could do and how we could do it . Guess what ? I hired him on the spot for that project too , which must wait for better weather . I will post a review then and hopefully some pics . In the mean time , you can see Franks work on his website Decks R Us , and also his other work on FranMac's website . Like all of you , I work hard for my money and when I spend it , I need to truly feel good about it . Frank is wonderful . Worth every dime and I look forward to a long lasting , working relationship with him. You know with a home , there is ALWAYS , things that need to be done .

Money well spent !! Lyle was incredible . Let me preface this review by saying that prior to Designer Window Fashions I had 3 other companies come in and give me a "free in home consultation." Apparently I must have saved the best for last . Lyle was not only the most professional but most product knowledge based rep I had ever encountered . He arrived on time for our appointment with literally hundreds of samples in his arms and thousands of design ideas in his head ! His expertise and eye for interior design made me feel like I was working with someone from a Interior Design company instead of Window Treatments. Lyle took the time and patience to naswer all mine and my husbands concerns and desires . He paid attention to our lifestyle, our furniture and general decor and then made his recommendations . The end is result is nothing short of Spectacular and has far exceeded our expectations , and as if this all wasn't enough. Delivery and installation was a breeze !! Right on schedule and Tony and Stephanie came into my home , like Santa's workshop elves , because magically they had transformed my living room in what seemed like mere minutes . They cleaned up their mess and left no trace of their presence except for their work when it was completed . Tony even made a point of spending a good 15 minutes straightening the drapes so that they would hang nicer . Understand this was no small project . I required blinds AND custom drapes for a beautiful room with 14 1/2 foot ceilings , the draps had to be at least 12 feet long , I didn't ask the measurements ...I did not have to , Lyle does everything for you . I am thrilled beyond belief with Designer Window Fashions and will recommend them to anyone and everyone I know and will for sure be using them in the future .
