Rocco was excellent, highly professional, answered all electrical work/replacement concerns on the call, confirmed scope of work to be performed and provided prompt service at a reasonable charge. I was a little concerned about a new microwave circuit from the panel since house was from the late 1950’s, had one of the first circuit breaker panels and I was hoping not to have to go the expense of having to install a new sub-panel just for one new circuit. Indicated we fortunately had two spare 15amp breakers (previous owners had left them) and hoped they could swap a 30amp double pole breaker in the panel (circuit now not being used) with those breakers. Rocco thought it might be possible. Mentioned also had a new replacement exhaust fan/wall switch-timer onsite. Within two days Rocco arranged for Lukas (Senior Service repair electrician for the company) to come. He arrived as scheduled and quickly and professionally installed the #2 15amp breakers in the panel (no problems) and electrical wiring/receptacle for the stovetop microwave. Then replaced bathroom ceiling exhaust fan (requiring a trip into the attic) and wall switch. I’m an engineer, very familiar with home construction, electrical work and found Lukas, as well, to be very professional. His work was excellent and note when finished, he immediately cleaned up the work area. Thank you Rocco and Lukas! Excellent work and greatly appreciated your quick response! Definitely highly recommend Rocco (Vitucci Electric Inc.) to family, friends and business colleagues! I look forward to having you help us out again on future electrical work.

Joseph was absolutely amazing! Highly professional, communicated the repair stages very clearly (with options and costs), his work is excellent and he was very prompt. He immediately checked out the computer within two hours, informed me of the status and we decided best to run some further tests overnight. Next day he corrected the boot up problem and after recommending replacing the HD (mechanical) with a 1 TB SSD, he successfully cloned everything over to the SSD and I picked up the computer that day at 5pm! The computer is running perfectly, no problems with any of our software programs and all our data remained intact. Well, one issue now with the computer... the computer is now running much faster! Thank you Joseph! Greatly appreciated! Definitely will highly recommend Joseph (Fujitech Technologies) to business colleagues and friends. Suddenly one of our office computers crashed and wouldn't reboot. Tried three times but knew if kept trying potentially could cause further damage and we possibly could destroy critical data. Had an updated total security antivirus software (Bitdefender) running at the time so hoped it wasn't a virus. Felt more likely it was either corrupted bootup sectors or unfortunately the Hard Drive (mechanical) was failing. We had noticed the computer was operating more slowly and last backed it up on an external HD some 3 months ago. For our work we needed the computer repaired right away. Two years ago, another of our computers had a HD failure. Took it to a major Toronto computer store (they had it for two weeks!) and we were not happy at all with their work. This time I went to Home Stars, immediately saw the very high Fujitech Tech. star rating and thought would take a chance. Best decision! Highly recommend! Thanks again Joseph!

With winter fast approaching I searched HomeStars for a reputable furnace company to inspect/clean the furnaces at two properties, one our own (furnace 15 yrs old) and one rented (furnace 4 yrs. old), just to ensure there would be no problems this winter like unfortunately we had 4 years ago. TEMPASURE Heating and Air Conditioning stood out, the reviews were very positive so I called Len Minuk (the owner) two weeks ago on Wednesday Dec 6th. He immediately answered the call and said he could fit me in the latter part of the following week. To help in advance should he need any basic replacement parts I emailed Len the name/model/serial nos. and installation date for the furnace/humidifier and gas hot water heater for both properties. Timing is everything! With appointments set for Len to visit the properties, four days later, the furnace at our property suddenly acted up and wasn’t maintaining heat in the house. Called Len that evening and he kindly managed to fit us in for an inspection the next day. He thoroughly checked the furnace and with a camera showed me a heat exchanger air leak (caused by a missing rivet ring) which appeared to be causing a high temp sensor to prematurely shut down the furnace. Since it was an unsafe operating situation (combustion gases could possibly leak into the house hot air supply) under his gas licence he had to immediately shut off the gas supply to the furnace. Now we had no heat in the house except for two gas fireplaces and the temperature outside was -9c! Len however, kindly also provided us with two electric heaters free of charge. We discussed some options and feeling under no pressure (common sense) we both felt the best option was to replace the furnace. An important point to note was Len noticed (correctly) that our existing furnace (100,000btu) was significantly oversized for our 1,800 sq, ft. bungalow. I was concerned however that the 60,000btu furnace Len was suggesting might be insufficient to properly heat the house (thought an 80,000btu furnace might be better) but Len assured me it would be better suited and I accepted his advice. Len immediately fitted us in, ordered a new furnace (High Efficiency American Standard 60,000btu) and within 3 days Adam (his installer) had fully completed the work. Adam too was highly knowledgeable about gas furnaces and the other gas equipment (gas whole house hot water boilers and hot water tank heaters) has known and worked with Len in the industry for over 14 years and has been full time with Len for the past approximately 5 years. Felt both Len and Adam were highly professional at all times and very knowledgeable and honest about the options/costs. In the end felt the final furnace charge was fair and that Adam’s installation work was excellent. A great job! Adam protected the hallways, work area and completely cleaned up afterwards. And, after a week I feel our house with the 60,000btu furnace is maintaining the house at a more even temperature compared to in past years the 100,000btu furnace. Len was right to go with a 60,000btu furnace. Regarding the furnace in the rented property, it was fine. I would recommend TEMPASURE Heating and Air Conditioning to family and friends and will definitely come back to the company if we have any future needs. Thanks Len and Adam. Highly recommend Dima Plumbing. John and his son Andre were highly professional, knowledgeable and courteous and we are highly satisfied with their work. They repaired several very annoying water leaks and the cost was reasonable. Would definitely call Dima Plumbing again and will highly recommend the company to family, friends and clients.

Our KitchenAid wine cooler, off warranty, suddenly several years ago wasn't cooling, was operating all the time and made excessive noise over a 6 month period. Very disappointed and unable to have it serviced at that time it has been turned off ever since. Being a relatively high end wine cooler we decided to once again try to get it serviced. After the frustration of "no interest because it was too small a job" by several appliance service companies in coming to our house, searched Homestars and found Modern Appliance which had very positive reviews regarding Peter, it's owner. Contacted Peter and right from the initial call I found Peter to be highly professional and knowledgeable. Obviously a wine cooler is a small job and at times not worth repairing and Peter and I both acknowledged this up front but that didn't stop Peter from, in the end, offering to come by our residence to take a look. We let Peter know it wasn't an urgent job (but hopefully he might be able to repair it by Christmas) and he offered to come by in approximately 1 1/2 wks time on a Friday. He punctually showed up that day, checked out the compressor and right away got it working again for us. On the service call we also found out he can service all of our other kitchen appliances Mile induction cooktop, Mile dishwasher, KitchenAid Refrigerator and KitchenAid combo microwave/oven; and LG washing machine and dryer. Will definitely call Peter again should we have any problems with any of our appliances. Highly recommend Modern Appliance! Professional, reliable and great service. Thank you Peter so much! Greatly appreciated and just in time for Christmas!

After Installation Service you can’t beat! We highly recommend The Floor Shop (Wicksteed Ave – Leaside location) to install your wood flooring and thank you Peter so much for organizing the very prompt repair service to get rid of a minor squeak, many years after The Floor Shop installed our flooring. The Floor Shop installed our kitchen and main floor hardwood flooring (Mercier Pacific 3/4" x 3 1/4" Satin Chocolate Brown) in 2008 and we have been extremely happy with the flooring ever since. Normally one might not install wood flooring in a kitchen area but with custom solid wood cheery cabinetry including a large island and open log set gas fire place, we wanted to continue the satin chocolate brown flooring into the kitchen area. We have absolutely no regrets and it looks absolutely so beautiful, warm and has proven to be very durable. We entertain a lot and we constantly receive comments about the beautiful flooring. However, slightly over a year ago we unfortunately had a very small water leak from the fridge which we caught right away but not before it slightly wet four hard wood floor boards 1 ½ ft. in front of the fridge. At the time Peter suggested that rather than replace and glue down some new boards (we had 2 extra boxes from the initial installation… always a good idea to buy an extra box or two of the flooring) the best thing to do now, is to wait upwards to a year for it to really dry out, then we will come by and put a few nails in to stop the minor squeak. I called Peter in April 2016, he remembered the call and within two days a service person completed the repair. Thank you so much for the very prompt repair service!

We recently contacted Steve regarding changing our old garage door. After discussing our options with several other firms, we decided to go with Steve at Open Sesame. I first heard about Open Sesame doing research on the Homestars website. His reviews were excellent. Right from the outset over the phone, he was extremely professional, discussed several options and he promptly came to see the garage. I had studied the various doors (manufacturers) over the net including door openers and within minutes of meeting Steve and going over details, I felt assured he was going to provide exactly what I was looking for, and more, at a reasonable price. He installed the door on the day he said he could and he and his partner did an excellent job with the installation. He is honest, reliable, very funny and excellent in his work. Thanks Steve!! Highly recommended.
