Today was the first sunny and warm weekend of the season. I came home to find the company's brochure at the door, and I had planned on sealing my driveway this year, so I gave them a call. Spoke with Cameron who was still in the area. He was able to come right away and complete the job which was a cleaning and sealing service. They took care to protect my neighbour's interlock that meets up with my ashphalt, and everything was well done. I'll have them back next time I need a re-seal.

Needed a replacement for our garage door opener. Called Door Doctor. Technician Kurtis came over, identified a suitable replacement model and also identified some minor changes he wanted to make with the new installation for a better setup. Made the second visit quickly and had the new unit installed without any problems. It was a no hassle process for us and we're very happy with the results.

About 2 years after buying all new cassette style shades for several windows in our house, we unexpectedly had to replace 5 windows. We thought we were going to have to pay another huge price for replacement shades to fit the new width. We were referred to Rowan, and he was able to re-size the width of our existing shades at a fraction of the cost of full replacements. We gave him the measurements of the new window openings and he got them all bang on, at a very reasonable price. It was a big relief not to have to waste the new shades.

We hired Penta Plumbing to work on our mainly-DIY basement renovation. The work was fairly involved. Our slab needed to be opened to add the drains for the new 3-piece bathroom, and then back-filled. Some existing drains were relocated, the laundry service was re-configured, and at the end of the job, Penta installed the plumbing fixtures as well. The entire job was spread out over months because we had to catch up on construction in between the different phases of the plumbing work. Penta was great to work with, and even though sometimes it took a while for us to get back to him, Andrew was always able to schedule us pretty quickly whenever we told him we were ready for the next step. The new laundry service has been used regularly for a while, and although the other new fixtures have only had light use so far, everything seems to be working great. We were happy we chose Penta to assist in a project we've put a lot of personal effort into, and Andrew has earned our first call the next time we need plumbing help. I chose not to enter the cost of the job since it was a custom quote, but Penta's estimate was competitive with the other company that provided an estimate.

I recently had Piramid install a basic panel sliding closet door as part of a basement reno. The door and installation was good, but I was also very impressed with the customer service. I called on fairly short notice and they were able to accommodate the measurement and installation appointments according to some time I had off, so everything worked out smoothly.

Earlier this year, we heard about Shady Windows by word of mouth. We had custom fit cassette style blinds installed on 8 windows in our home. Sales visit was great with a variety of options to choose from, and when the installer came, everything was the correct fit. Pricing was competitive, I'd use this company again.

We had Verdun replace a basement slider style window. The sales visit was fine. On the day of the install, a 3-person crew showed up. The old window was out in just minutes, and the new window was installed very quickly. Workmanship looks great from what I can tell. We're very pleased with the results and will give Verdun a call when we're ready to replace windows on the other levels of our home.

We called Dave to have a number of cracks repaired in our foundation. I was able to get a hold of him on the phone on my first try, and he was able to discuss pricing accurately on the phone for my case and get an appointment scheduled for just a couple days later which was great. Starting with the sales visit, Greg was helpful in identifying a good equipment combination that would suit my home, and I was able to take advantage of a promotional offer to get the Lennox SLP98V at a discounted rate, and OPA & manufacturer rebates. Greg also paid attention to detail during the visit and identified a number of items from the existing setup by a previous owner that did not meet current code and would be corrected during the new install. Taylor, Jeremy, and Jordan installed the furnace including humidifier and cartridge type media filter, the AC, and the tankless water heater. The workmanship by these guys was excellent on all three units. The finished product looks clean and professional including vent and drain placements. I had advised the crew to use their judgement considering we hope to eventually finish the basement, and the final placement of everything they chose is going to make finishing that space a piece of cake. Undertaking this upgrade was a major investment in our home, but we feel completely justified after seeing the final results, and I'd highly recommend this company to anyone.

Used Acker Home Inspection services today for an inspection on a re-sale property. We got the referral from our real estate agent. I highly recommend this company. They showed up on time, were professional, and I felt I received a lot of value. It's a 2-man team. They start by explaining the inspection process and use a sample report as a visual aid to show you what they're going to do, how it will be reported, and the scope of the observations they make. Then they take you through the inspection. At all times, they were open to questions, were informative, and helpful all around. At the end of the inspection, they de-brief you on any deficiencies they may have discovered, and a full report is provided electronically. Bottom line, is I was very happy with the service provided, and would not hesitate to recommend Acker Home Inspection.
