Defective engineered hardwood installed by builder needed to be replaced in 3 yr old condo. Arno answered our request to replace and suggested laminate or vinyl. We opted for vinyl in colour and profile to match existing colour scheme. Arno removed original flooring and replaced with new vinyl flooring. The new flooring looks great.

We had a 14+ year old well used (toddler through teen years) ink-stained leather sofa and love seat reupholstered by TMC. It was a good decision of changing the leather colour to a lighter palette. They look fantastic. More importantly, TMC reinforced the the solid Maple frames with additional springs, superior quality foam and attention to the original details. Special shout out to the team who picked up and delivered our furniture. These men were friendly, strong and very respectful of our home and me. A total pleasure doing business with TMC Restoration.

I needed soffit, fascia, eavestroughs and down spouts on my wooden backyard garden shed. Superior responded to my request immediately. Promptness appreciated. It was a small job and I was told no problem, they’d fit me in between jobs as they were finishing off a large job. After messaging back and forth often on the Homestars site, we had a quick phone call to settle on colours and time to start. The overall experience was safe and quick, especially since we were in the volatile times of Covid-19. The crew arrived when they said they would and the job was done in less than 4 hours. The workmanship was impeccable. My garden shed looked fabulous and was now standing with an extended life.

Our builder home had toilet and shower plumbing in an exterior wall which froze in the winter. I called Marco and he came out within days to give me a competitive quote but promised special attention. He has a sincere and trustworthy demeanour. He didn’t let me down. He went above and beyond and treated us as he would his own family. He was respectful of our family, our home, our time and our money. He exceeded our high expectations with superior work, on time and on budget considering we replaced everything in our 2 bathrooms. This review is long overdue. Speedy custom cut and fitted the glass for my kitchen cabinet years ago. They did an excellent job. They no longer offer this service but I was so impressed with their friendliness, helpfulness, professionalism and knowledge that I immediately called them when a baseball hit the windshield of my car that was parked in my driveway. Speedy once again proved that they are above average. They informed me that my car had auto rain sensors. This was a feature I had never used and had long forgotten about even though it was pointed out by the dealer when I purchased my car. Thank you Speedy!

It was Thursday before the long weekend and I discovered mold marks and a flooded cupboard floor from my in-cabinet water filter. In less than one hour of creating my service request, I was contacted by Sue at A&E Environmental to book a time for a visit. We agreed on the Friday and right on time, Sean arrived at my front door equpped to investigate and remediate. Sean presented himself as knowledgeable, kind and sincerely interested in the welfare of my family and our home. He immediately examined the site with his high beam and ensured me that I wouldn’t need to rip out my cabinets but that he could remediate the surface mold marks since all surfaces below and behind the cabinet were dry. Minutes later, the job was done using commercial grade products which, once dry, would leave me with no problems. I had peace of mind and had met a man of integrity whose goal in business is to help residential homeowners with their mold & asbestos issues with respect and fairness in costs. Sean did this work free of charge as a goodwill gesture. I can only repay him by recommending his company as he is an honourable man for jobs big or small. Thank you Sean. I highly recommend Sean and Sue at A&E and wish them future success in all of their endeavours! Thank you once again.

Our now 10 year old subdivision home backs onto an operating vegetable farm. Field mice galore reside in the farm and some cross our property line oblivious to the fact that they’ve left the farm! In “an ounce prevention versus a pound of cure”, we called Sajad 9 years ago and with his maintenance of the bait traps he placed around our property, we are now and have always been pest-free in our home, garage and garden shed. It’s well worth the cost per visit to maintain our property and keep it pest free 24/7. Thank you Pest Control 247!

Petra & Vasyl were prompt, professional and polite. I had 4 stone steps at my front entrance abutting my house and interlocking driveway. The original interlocking company did not place the correct foundation for such heavy solid stone steps and with time these steps were sinking and the attached wrought iron railing was pulling away from the house. Not only was this unsightly but also, an accident waiting to happen. I placed my Homestars request online and within hours these men came out to my job site, evaluated the job, quoted a fair price and started the work the next day. They are very knowledgeable and work meticulously to perfect the project.

I highly recommend AllSeal if you need to bring new life back into your tired or weed filled interlock. Our driveway and backyard patio look better than ever! Danny was friendly, prompt and honest. The wood floor of our garden shed dry rotted and needed to be replaced. As it sat on a concrete border we decided to have a poured cement floor installed. Mr Handyman came out the next day and Devon assessed the situation giving me a proposal of the job and costs. I agreed to pay for all materials needed and Mr Handyman would provide the labour. With the exception of a cement delivery delay glitch, our floor was installed in a suitable manner by Devon.

My hard wired smoke-co detectors were expiring and one after the other beeped incessantly. I called Kevray Electrical on referral from my sister, they had just done some updating of electrical work in the 50+ year old house they reside in. Owner Kevin called me back immediately and came out a few days later (he was swamped with projects) but squeezed my home visit in. After checking the model, he said he'd get his guys out within the week to replace all 9 units. His guys were young, friendly and very respectful. They were fast, efficient and clean. I will definitely recommend Kevray Electrical.

I purchased a NordicTrack Treadmill from Costco.ca in 2012. In November of 2016 the treadmill became noisy so I contacted ICON Canada, the world's largest marketer of home fitness equipment who recommended that I seek service from Sports Effect as it was the closest treadmill repair company on their referral list. If you own a large piece of sports equipment like a NordicTrack treadmill or bicycle that needs in home repair, Sports Effect is the company to call. They also do assembly. I had a harrowing encounter and was frustrated that it took 3 months to get my treadmill repaired (as seen below in my initial review) but yesterday Jonh from Sports Effect came out and installed the 4th replacement motor and new converter and now my treadmill is operating smoothly. In hindsight, the problems stemmed from Icon sending out defective motors. Sports Effect was frustrated in this whole process as much as I was and I understand fully. They had a lot of extra paperwork to do to resolve my problem and for that I'm grateful. I now know that a lifetime motor warranty does not necessarily mean a no hassle repair. Sports Effect is reliable and saw the process through to the end. (The following is my saga before resolutionyesterday) Initially Mark at Sports Effect was quite congenial and sent out his repairperson to inspect & tune up my treadmill. The inspection revealed that both side rails were cracked from use and the motor needed to be replaced (under lifetime warranty). In a few weeks the parts arrived at my home, I called Mark and he happily booked my next appointment for installation of my new motor and rails. The new motor was even louder than the original! A new motor was ordered once again (at no charge to me but I was charged for the rails and tune up). A second motor was sent out. This one was loud and emitted a strong burnt grease smell. Sports Effect once again arranged with ICON to send out the lifetime warrantied motor. "Third time's a charm" to quote Mark. This time a different repair person was sent out to install the motor. The "third time" motor blew the controller (motherboard). I've received the 4th motor and new controller, however, Mark at Sports Effect is no longer congenial and quite unfriendly on the telephone. I called twice and think that he was avoiding my calls. I had my husband call on my phone but Sports Effect did not answer the call. My husband called 15 seconds later in his cell phone and Mark answered the call! We're waiting to see if we will get a repsirperson out to install motor #4 and the controller. Who's to blame? NordicTrack for their defective motors? Sports Effect for their diminishing service? It's been 4 months without a working treadmill and I've paid Sports Effect $500. For their service which gives a 1 year guarantee. I'm hoping I'll have an operable treadmill soon.

We were thrilled with the service of Strong Plumbing Inc. A most polite Valentin arrived promptly, did our repair efficiently, cleanly and quickly. We've had other plumbers in the past who were never as courteous and respectful to us and our property. Val went the extra mile ensure that the area inside our home was kept clean and as dust free as possible. He did not damage our drywall to the extent that patching and taping needed to be done but he was precise in his locating and cutting out of our ceiling to access the pipe. He replaced the faulty "so called" frost-free outdoor faucet and has given us copper piping with our new faucet. He took the time to instruct my husband and I on how to operate and maintain our new faucet with the indoor shutoff and draining valve. We cannot more highly recommend Valentin and the services of Strong Plumbing.

Your house is a major investment. We do regular maintenance on our cars, why not our homes? I had DryShield.ca in to inspect my house for potential basement leaks or water seepage. I previously had a window well leak which cost thousands to repair and replace the damage. I'm proactive now. Jonathan from DryShield came to my home with a respectful and friendly demeanour, armed with his tools of the trade and began his process. He was friendly and knowledgeable, informing me of what he was doing. He was fast, tidy and efficient. Thank you, Jonathan! My house passed the test and I can rest assured until my next "check-up".

The telephone staff was RUDE. It was hard to contact them even after leaving several messages. They stall so that you can't get reservation for pick up before expiration date. They add extra charges even when voucher states that fees are included. They mention fuel surcharge on telephone but never printed it in their list of inclusions/exclusions. I will never use or recommend this company. It seems their voucher deals are a way of receiving profits and not a way to generate further business.

We had a basement leak which resulted in waterlogged laminate flooring. We called Mr. Handyman of Vaughan and Darko dispatched Sekula ASAP. In a matter of hours Sekula removed the old flooring and even loaded it onto the disposal van and drove with my husband to help him unload it at the community disposal centre. I was wonderfully surprised at how quickly and efficiently the job was done. Thank you Sekula. And you'll get our business again, Darko.

We found wet baseboards in our basement and didn't know where the water was coming from. We called Mr. Handyman of Vaughan and were pleased that by removing a patch of drywall, the problem area was detected. Darko and Sekula were knowledgeable and efficient. The foundation wall was sealed after the exterior was dug out 3 metres deep! Restoration to both inside and out was done quickly and cleanly. We are impressed with the quality of work and would use Mr. Handyman again.

We have a 5 year old house. We finished the basement at 1 year old. The builder electrician and the electricians we hired to finish our basement and some home improvements did an inferior job. Solutions Electrical was the solution to our woes. Dave and his assistants did a great job and were incredibly respectful of us and our property. They were always punctual and professional. We can now sleep with peace of mind knowing that our household electrical is safe. This was money well spent.

Milton is a businessman with integrity (competitive price and delivery date always as promised) and an upholsterer with great skill. If you don't ask, you won't know - could we get these reupholstered in leather? He said YES - Milton converted 2 fabric slipper chairs and a club chair & ottoman to superior quality leather pieces. Wow, they looked great! A job well done as was the sofa he reupholstered and delivered to us in less than 1 week, in time for Christmas. Our German houseguests were duly impressed with the quality of workmanship and timeliness of delivery If you want quality work and someone you can trust with your valued furniture, Milton is your man!
