BEWARE!!! Can not be trusted in that the price you finally end up paying is not what was advertised! They do all kinds of tricks to make sure you pay a lot more!

There's a reason this company only has a 1-star rating (a negative rating would better fit this company as you can not trust them at all)! I wish I had looked them up before purchasing from Buytopia as all the negative reviews are completely true!

First problem is after scheduling the appointment is they then advised that their pick-up window is 8 hours which means you have to take the entire day off.

Second problem is when they call you to tell you when they will be coming the driver uses a Calgary (403) cell number and/or a blocked number. They only ring 3 times and won't call the alternate number that you provided (unlike what they advised you on the phone). They do this in order to charge you their "Rescheduling Charge" of $25. Basically they will do their very best to not get a hold of you on the originally scheduled appointment time.

The driver actually runs the show so don't believe the nice dispatcher as whatever she tells you gets completely thrown out by the driver. The dispatcher agreed to waive the "Rescheduling Charge" as the driver never called the alternate number I provided. Upon arriving, the driver basically tells you that either you pay the extra $25 or he'll leave.

Also stairs cost $30 extra so make sure you know this before hand otherwise another charge that they don't advise you on.

I've purchased other products from Buytopia and Groupon and for sure this company ranks as the WORST ever!!!

They came to pick up three couches that I estimate weighed ~250-300 pounds, 150 pounds, and 70 pounds. The last two had a small wood frame, with a little bit of fabric. They were very light couches.

He charged me for 1500 pounds. This is ridiculous as I can easily pick up two of those couches. He's basically suggesting that I can lift 500 pounds, I wish he was right.

I asked to see the scale and the number, he showed me a stupid little black antennae thing and did not show me any actual number.

We asked to remove the items from the truck ourselves and pay for their time. He refused and said he would send a collection agency after us. I had to give in because we're trying to get a mortgage and we need to keep our credit score high.

The telephone staff was RUDE. It was hard to contact them even after leaving several messages. They stall so that you can't get reservation for pick up before expiration date. They add extra charges even when voucher states that fees are included. They mention fuel surcharge on telephone but never printed it in their list of inclusions/exclusions. I will never use or recommend this company. It seems their voucher deals are a way of receiving profits and not a way to generate further business.

Seems like I'm not alone here.
I purchased the voucher from 250lbs of junk removal.

From the start, I was not impressed with the company, I had to re-book the appointment twice, wasting me 2 full days of waiting time. (Appearantly this is also common).

Then when the driver finally came, He quoted that my pile of tree branches would be 500lbs, and would cost me $500 extra in addition to the door I need to throw out. This "500 lbs" tree is a 3 year old plum (just branches, no root or soil) that I can pick up with one hand!, it couldn't weigh more than 70 lbs. And the door I have, just a regular steel/wood front door couldn't be more than 30lbs, instead of 250.

It is very clear that he doesn't want me to fill up his truck, unless he makes a fortune out of it, so that he can make multiple locations in one day.

In the end, he took, only a door and some cardboards, but this is not the end of the story.

The day later, I was charged $40 for over weight!!! for just that door and some packaging cardboard. I couldn't see how my garbage would weight 280lbs....in fact, I couldn't see it being any more than 60lbs.

After many called and emails to the company, no one has ever responded, and each phone call ended with "my manager is not here, she will call you back immediately when she's back", which never happened.

I think it is reasonable for me to conclude that this is a fraudulent company that over charges customers and I will never use their service again.

I was overcharged and they are not reputable. They "estimate" your weight and tell you it will be weighed at the dump (total fabrication) and try to charge you way more than should be charged.
I argued with them until they agreed on the 250 pounds (not 450 they quoted) they tried to tell me standard queen mattress set weights 300 lbs.... give me a friggen break.
Then I was charged an extra 60 bucks for disposal of the mattress set on top of the weight.
Total scam.... it only costs 15 for the recycling fee...
Terribly dissappointed... Called to talk about the service and their manager was rude....
