One early fall morning I heard loud banging noises coming from under the floor in the mud room attached to the back of our house. this is not a new issue... two previous years I had hired a different company and thought the problem was solved as identified as "mice that were getting in somehow". This time, I wanted to try a new company and found AAA Gates on Homestars. I emailed them and actually had same day visit from David... who by the way was great. Told David the issue and he inspected the outside perimeter and had to agree there was no entry point that he could see. David then said he wanted to check out our neighbour's backyard - who is attached (semi detached). David came back and found the issue... RACCOONS! they were digging from under my neighbour's deck to under my mud room... David placed a one-way door and over the next few days came back to monitor. The raccoons had exited and were not able to come back... it's been a few weeks now and all clear! Wanted to thank Gates' team for their fast response to my issue and the incredible skill to find this issue. So happy to have found this company!!! Really recommend Gates and their service, follow up, and overall integrity!

I found Gardenzilla on Homestars as a hopeful replacement for another company we were using for lawn and garden maintenance I was looking for a reliable company providing quality work. WOW did Gardenzilla ever deliver!! We booked a spring clean up service with lawn care. Sara did an amazing job. Every component to the job was done perfectly even down to the detailed trimming of the lawn. We wanted to give Gardenzilla a try and could not br happier. We will book them again next month for a touch up service I hope Sara is our person again!

My wife and I decided (after many years) to finally start replacing some of our window coverings and have the work done professionally. I have to say SWF's lives up to the amazing reputation and reviews. Eleonor helped arrange an in-house estimate.. excellent communication and follow up. When Lyle arrived he had literally 100's of product samples and was so helpful in helping us decide on the window fashions. Lyle spent hours with us (thank you!) and we ended up making our choices based on his recommendations. We went with Cellular shades in the kitchen and main bedroom; a Roman blind for the nursery; as well as a room darkening curtain for the main bedroom. Shaim who installed was efficient and very respectful of our home. We are thrilled with the results.. now we need to look at other rooms so we will be seeing Lyle very soon. great company and people.

After many years of wanting to renovate the top floor of our Danforth semi, we decided to just get it done. With a baby on the way we wanted to have new floors that did not creak, a new bathroom that was modern, updated and not from the 80's, and to take a room and transform it into a stunning spare for guests. As usual, we ended up calling several companies to bid. Level Q was not on our original list, however, they were referred to us from a company that we reached out to (that couldn't fit us in their schedule)... So, all the contractors made their visits. Some spent 5 mins looking at our project, some didn't show up, and some were just....fine. However, when Ehab arrived we just knew something was different. From the start, Ehab had creative ideas... he spent at least an hour with us going through reco's and giving us options during the first visit. From there, we went to several places for supplies which Ehab recommended... all were excellent. Once we purchased supplies, the work started... yes, on day 1, a colony of carpenter ants... yes on day 2, 3, 4.... 40 degree weather on the top floor of a Danforth home... it's not pleasant.... but still, the crew were always awesome... friendly, and kind. We developed quite a trust with this company... and it kept getting better. Ehab's team worked long and hard days to keep the schedule on track. We had issues with the vanity that we bought... so we got a custom one built (and Ehab returned the one we bought.... seriously, this type of service is SO rare). the finished product is incredible. We love our new top floor. To cap it off, Ehab came and did some last, final touches himself the day the project was done. overall the experience was wonderful... didn't feel like we had "contractors" in our home... what n excellent company. I would recommend Level Q Renovation and Design to anyone looking for high quality, trustworthy people, and a team that wants to bring value and excellence. After a 3 week reno of the entire top level of our house, we called in Maret to discuss options We had used Maret's service in the past and was very satisfied so really didn't look elsewhere. Maret quoted and she arrived with her team right on time to do a pre-work walk through. The finished results are amazing... so much attention to detail, team was very friendly and worked so hard. Our newly reno'd house is now so clean. Can't wait to have Maret's team come again soon.

Good service and communication. Booked online and driver called 30min before the visit to give an ETA. Really friendly employees. Removed a significant amount of garage and reno junk/debris. swept up after which was a nice touch. Will need another visit in a couple of weeks, would not hesitate to call them again.

After the long winter went into the garage to see a leaf nest in the rafters. I've used Pesticon before and called them to investigate. It's May 24 long weekend and someone answered in person and I had a Pesticon representative within 3 hours! WHAT SERVICE!!! In no time the garage was inspected, the entry point closed off and here's another satisfied customer. thank you Pesticon.

Our neighbour arranged to have HTS come to trim a tree between our properties for the winter. The team did a good job trimming the tree and we would have loved to rate this company higher, but they neglected to collect all their garbage before leaving our property, moved a glass table that was on our deck (without moving it back) and broke a piece of our gate in the process of moving our table. We understand that they moved the table to get it out of the way, but expect that if something is moved, it will be returned to its proper place after the work is completed. After contacting the owner, they did offer to come back to pick up their garbage and move our table, but at this point, it's too late.

This is the fourth time we have hired Canadian Roofing. Previous work (roofing and eaves troughs) was excellent so we were fairly confident that Jason and team would be our pick to replace shingles. After evaluating all the options, Canadian Roofing provided the best value and knowing their high standards, gave me confidence that the job would be done correctly. Jason and team even fixed a couple of other items (facia especially) to make sure we were 100% satisfied. as with all our experiences the work was done proficiently. highly recommend Canadian Roofing.

The entire process was so simple and easy. Janice at the office communicated so quickly and effectively on scheduling. Kevin and Adam arrived on time, were professional and very helpful in explaining the issues and recommended solutions. The issues were fixed and Kevin and Adam had cleaned up as quickly as they corrected the electrical issues. We have used other companies in the past, but HotWire Electric is by far the best company for any electrical needs. 100% will use them again for future projects.

We contracted Sobol Inc. to replace our aging Storm Door. Good communication and work quality. Highly recommended and would use Sobol in the future for any work needed for doors or windows.

Canadian Roofing Company has done two roofing projects for us and we have been VERY pleased with their work. As a result, when we decided to replace our eavestroughs there was no question we would call Canadian Roofing for a quote. The quote that we received from Canadian Roofing was very competitive. It was not the cheapest, but after we compared the quotes it was clear that the quality of the work, the reputation, and the warrantee offered made Canadian Roofing the best value for us. The new black troughing looks awesome and we were able to route the downspouts in an effective and yet esthetically pleasing way

YES, Dan came to our house. YES, Dan installed 5 lighting fixtures in record time but wait! Dan also saved us tons of cash... the previous owners installed the kitchen cabinets and there was a two inch gap beside the dishwasher. Dan recommended not trying to match the cabinet wood, but instead repaired it in a creative way by putting two equal sized pieces of wood to hold the dishwasher snug... then painted them black. When I saw this I couldn't believe how excellent it looks now. thanks Dan for all your help and creative ideas... call Dan if you need some work done around the house!

Well, another botched handyman job by the previous owners forces us to call in a contractor to fix the issue correctly. This time we found our dishwasher was powered by an extension cord to the light switch! We had used CLI electric for previous work and were very happy so made the call to ask for Steve and his team to come by. WOW! added proper wiring from the panel to the kitchen in record time, as well as added a breaker to the panel. As before, Steve and his team were professional, courteous, and explained everything in detail. We will be calling CLI electric again for some other work we need done in November. It's nice to have a company you trust. thanks again!

We have been in our house for only a little while... we moved in and did an initial cleaning and then some renovations.. the house is 90 years old, and the previous owners had a dog. We did clean up from those reno's but after discussing with my wife, we decided to hire the professionals to really do a full clean of the entire house WHAT A DIFFERENCE!! Maret came over to give us a quote, she came right on time, went through our home in great detail and provided a quote for us. The team arrived early and took the entire day to give our house a 100% clean... The team was so hard working, they ust keep working! such a great group! It is awesome!!!! Do not hesitate anymore! you need to call Maret and have her come see your job, you will not be disappointed. We will be calling Maret in a couple of weeks to set up our regular cleaning schedule! thank you Maret, our house is so clean and it feels great!

Our house inspector told us that the previous owners had installed a low quality bathroom fan, and had did not have it exhaust outside... in other words, moisture was NOT being exhausted!! oh well... we needed to have it done properly. Some electrical companies do not do this, but CLI said they would. Laura helped us set up the initial meeting and Steve came by to check out the job. We decided to also do pot lights in the kitchen. We agreed on the work to be done the following week. Steve and Kevin arrived on time, and started the work... PROPERLY installing the exhaust fan in the upstairs bathroom was tricky... could not vent it up through the flat roof, so the guys went out the side of the house. They definitely needed more time than I believe they estimated... but did not charge me more! They stuck to their quote and now have yet another customer for life... I will always call CLI for any work I have as they do more than just electrical. thank you Steve and Kevin for all your hard work! and to Laura for her excellent communication and follow ups!

I should have posted this review sooner... to ensure Dan gets the credit he deserves. He is booked far in advance, but again, is so worth it. Arrived on time, did an amazing job installing a pantry in our kitchen -> it looks like it belongs!!! Dan has also completed many other projects for us. We have him booked again in February. If you need some projects completed, high quality work is the best way to describe it.

Dan is always booked far in advance, but since he was working on a project in my neighbourhood, was able to drop by my house to do a small job as well as discuss some bigger projects. I am really satisfied with Dan's work, he was very insightful in recommending how to proceed with the work we wanted.

Once we moved in to our Danforth area home, we decided to replace the flat roof. Actually, there were multiple layers on our flat roof, and lots of areas where it was delaminating. I called several companies to quote on the job. Canadian Roofing Company was one of them. Jason Hunter made a visit and prepared an estimate... it was very competitive, and based on the reviews on this site, and Jason's professionalism, we went with Canadian Roofing Co. Jason's crew, led by Steve arrived on a Friday morning, and took the majority of the day to complete the job. Steve was great, and so were his crew. The job came in on budget, and I feel very happy with the work. The Canadian roofing Company crew gave the extra effort to make sure the job was done correctly!! and Jason is fantastic! If you require roofing work you need to call Canadian Roofing Company.

This is the third time we have used Junkaroo for junk removal. This time it was to remove junk that was in our garage and other stuff built up as we have renovated our place. Ted and Jeff arrived right on time as usual, and were fast, friendly, and professional. Call Junkaroo!

Needed emergency service to replace the glass in one of my patio doors... was going to be done outside of regular business hours. Called around and the prices to complete the work were high. Found Academy on the Internet, and called them... not only were they the best price, but were on site in 30 mins and had the work completed in about an hour. Highly recommend, I will call in the future for sure.

We have called Leaside Handyman Services for several projects since moving into our Danforth Village home. This time we needed a new roof vent installed after the current one was damaged by raccoons! This was a job that needed to be completed asap to avoid water coming in through the roof. Sean came on time, did excellent work, and as usual charged a really great rate. highly recommend, again!

We had just taken possession of our first home, a semi detached in Danforth village. We wanted to refinish the hardwood floors -> we called several companies for quotes. Two would not even entertain refinishing -> only replacing and at a high cost/ sq foot. Peter from Beach Hardwood came by, he was punctual and willing to explain the work. Beach quoted us with a very competitive rate for the work... they would pick up and install the hardwood I bought myself. This project seemed like it was going to be very hassle free!! However, there were a couple of "hiccups" along the way. The work began just before Xmas and was scheduled to be complete before January 2nd. The job ended up taking over a month. We had to call them back in three times to fix some issues... which they did thankfully. Overall, I would have rated Beach lower if Bill had not made such an effort to correct the problems we had... I know alot of companies would just ignore the calls. So, if you are looking for hardwood floor work, I would definitely call Beach Hardwood... their prices are competitive and the quality of work is very good. Just be cautious to ensure you hold them to timelines and your expectations of what work is to be completed.

Due to the timing of taking possession of our home and when we had to move in, there was a need to hire help to paint, repair plaster, and rebuild closets. We looked in the "Handyman" section of Homestars and found Leaside. I called Sean to set up a visit so he could see what was needed. He provided an estimate for the work that day. We hired Leaside Handyman and the work began. Paul did the painting and plaster jobs... he did an excellent job.! and we finally have functional closets!! We will be calling Sean again for his services

We just moved in to our first house and had quite a lot of junk we needed disposed of. Steve communicated with me to set up the appointment. Ted and Jeff arrived right on time, had all the junk loaded into their truck in no time. Very professional company, great communication. I will be calling Junkaroo again... if you require disposal service, you need to call these guys.

well, I am revising my previous review of Ken Haller inspections. Since we were first time home buyers, and very "green" when it came to home repair, we really thought Ken did an amazing job. Overall, Ken did a good job. About 3 months after we moved in, we found out there were some major plumbing issues with our house. So we had a plumber come in. After spending $7,000 replacing our main build drain ---- Which is NOT Ken's responsibility as it is not visible...BUT we also found out that there were no traps on any of the sinks and the tub! Sewer gases were entering our home! Well, the previous owners should have done things correctly, and they did not... but isn't that what a house inspector should identify? I found it strange that a house inspector could not identify this (guess he did not look under the sinks) overall, Ken did a good job, he got on our roof,went through the HVAC and electrical -> and explained everything... just be careful, and make sure he opens up the bathroom vanity!
