Appliance Repairman

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I wish I would have checked with the BBB or Home Stars before calling this service. I was quoted an $80 service call but when the technician arrived, quoted a $280 charge to find the problem and fix it which may or may not need a part. In my case, we paid the $280 to the technician who claimed that he could fix the problem that he has never touched an appliance he could not fix. Guess what he could not fix it because it needed a part which he swore he could get by the next day. 3 days later and number of calls to the company, he called back to say the part was not available. So we are out $280 and a broken dishwasher and appliance repair company customer service that insists that they provided us correct service. I never post reviews but this experience has me disgusted. Also read an article in the Star today that points to this company having a BBB rating of an F !! The article is:

I am kicking myself for not doing enough due diligence.

Appliance Repair Guys came to my home for a repair last week, they were very quick and very honest, diagnosed the problem right away, were able to finish the repair the same day, I am realty happy.

The guy was very nice, insisting he could fix machine vs. buying new one. I was naive.
Diagnostic $280
2 parts are needed to fix machine,
1 part installed
2 part cannot be installed due to missing piece
I later receive a call saying that 2nd part cannot be found..sorry can't fix machine.
I paid $280 for diagnostic, $230 for the first installed part plus labour.
I did receive a cheque for $66 refund. They have you sign a receipt that states at the bottom installed parts and labour are non-refundable.
The whole experience has me on this site for the first time warning others. FIND ANOTHER COMPANY.

One of the guys came to service my washer. he accessed that it was probably the main control board. He told me that it would be $280 for a diagnostic, but he seemed convinced of the problem. I asked how much a main control board costs. he told me anywhere from $600 to $800. I said thanks, but no thanks. and payed the service charge. I looked online and found the main control boards actually cost around $150 to $180. I called customer service to complain and they said I had the wrong company and that i was not on file. Money wasted. I have never written a review on any company before this, but felt I needed to inform.

Was quoted 80.00 for a service call which would let me know exactly what was wrong and how much it would cost to fix (prior to starting work). Once Tech arrived; he had an idea of what problem might be -- could not give a definite quote for the repair (or pinpoint problem). Wanted 280.00 to start and if parts were needed it would cost more (for both time and parts). I can buy a new dryer for that. Misleading absolutely no value. DO NOT RECOMMEND. False advertising.
