Skylight Concepts

This company was recommended to us by the contractor who handled a major renovation on our home. Although we have an open concept kitchen with several windows in the general area, the cooking/sink area was frequently quite dark so we decided to have a tubular skylight installed. We contacted Robert, quickly received a quote and booked a date for the work to be done. This is where we encountered the one issue we had when he didn't show up. After waiting several hours, we phoned and were told that he couldn't make it that day so a new time was set. This time, he did arrive albeit about an hour late. Luckily, the work was done in an efficient manner and so far, we are extremely happy with the result. What a huge difference this skylight made - well worth having done.
Addendum: While we are pleased with the additional light provided by this skylight, there have been issues since which have not been resolved. Within several months of the installation, we started getting moisture in the tube. We tried to contact Robert to arrange for repairs but phone messages were not returned. Eventually we were successful in reaching him and he promised to come up later in the week. He didn’t. And no phone call. In due course, we did reach him and he came and did some work.
Fast forward a few more months and we started getting small flies in the tube. More phone calls to ask if we could remove the lens to clean them out. No reply, so we eventually solved the problem ourselves. Then we started getting more moisture in again which caused humidity in the summer and ice in the winter. Another phone call. No reply to our message. A request sent through the “contact us” on the company web site. Nothing.
Obviously, our only recourse now is to contact another company to undertake the repair.
I would never use this company again. I would never recommend this company to anyone. For someone interested in installing any type of skylight - look for another company because after purchase service from Skylight Concepts is non-existent.

Used Skylight Concepts to replace leaking skylights in our house. Robert came to our house twice and was diligent in ascertaining the root cause of the problem prior to making any recommendations. Unfortunately, getting a hold of someone and arranging appointments was very difficult. We had some post-installation concerns as well which they never returned our calls about.

Had Skylight Concepts come out to take a look at our sun room which was having leakage problems. Rob was VERY knowledgeable and his team did fabulous work on our skylights. We did have to call him back a second time but it was for a different issue with our units as they were building up internal condensation but he again immediately knew what to do. He also offers an extensive warranty on leak repair that he does on your units, not that it is necessary because we have not needed to call him back since. Would highly recommend Rob for his knowledge and experience alone!

I talked with Skylight Concepts in mid April to get my Flashing redone on my Skylight. They did not want to out to take a look at the job instead wanted pictures. They sounded like they knew what they were talking about and ended up buying new skylight with new flashing for $2100. First they do not make an appointment when they come out it's when ever they feel like it. I wanted a day's notice I got a text in mid June we will be there in an hour. Two months waiting and they had the wrong colour flashing green roof with large brown flashing that looks like a patch job. Skylight concepts gave me a credit to make it right, I have no leaks. They will come back to make it right and will admit a mistake was done so better than most.

Just wanted to say a big thank you - the new skylight looks great and the guys that installed it were wonderful...they did a fantastic job!
We had family coming from out of town and they were able to get it done before they got here and left everything spotless! No extra work was needed!

They did a great job at doing exactly what we needed them to do . Will be using them for future renovation projects in our home. The price was very reasonable and they did a very good job.

Rob was excellent, great with support and keeping us abreast of everything he was doing. I had no problems with the install and i would highly reccomend this company to anyone.
