Skylight Concepts

This company was recommended to us by the contractor who handled a major renovation on our home. Although we have an open concept kitchen with several windows in the general area, the cooking/sink area was frequently quite dark so we decided to have a tubular skylight installed. We contacted Robert, quickly received a quote and booked a date for the work to be done. This is where we encountered the one issue we had when he didn't show up. After waiting several hours, we phoned and were told that he couldn't make it that day so a new time was set. This time, he did arrive albeit about an hour late. Luckily, the work was done in an efficient manner and so far, we are extremely happy with the result. What a huge difference this skylight made - well worth having done.
Addendum: While we are pleased with the additional light provided by this skylight, there have been issues since which have not been resolved. Within several months of the installation, we started getting moisture in the tube. We tried to contact Robert to arrange for repairs but phone messages were not returned. Eventually we were successful in reaching him and he promised to come up later in the week. He didn’t. And no phone call. In due course, we did reach him and he came and did some work.
Fast forward a few more months and we started getting small flies in the tube. More phone calls to ask if we could remove the lens to clean them out. No reply, so we eventually solved the problem ourselves. Then we started getting more moisture in again which caused humidity in the summer and ice in the winter. Another phone call. No reply to our message. A request sent through the “contact us” on the company web site. Nothing.
Obviously, our only recourse now is to contact another company to undertake the repair.
I would never use this company again. I would never recommend this company to anyone. For someone interested in installing any type of skylight - look for another company because after purchase service from Skylight Concepts is non-existent.
