Strongly DO NOT recommend KP/Farley
We received an email on Feb 2 2023, from KP/Farley and this was their response
Good afternoon
We have received your warranty request from Home depot. I looked at all the info and the windows from 2015 with air infiltration might have weather stripping issues that need to be changed and this is not under warranty. You can Contact any window repair company in your area to change the weather strip at you cost.
Thank you.
And my response was on the same day
Hello,
Im sorry this is not an acceptable response. At the very least I feel a visit to the home is required.
We doubt highly that this is solely weather stripping as you put it.
There is also condensation between the two window panes.
I will be awaiting a response.
Thank-you Sincerely
Gaby
I had sent them pictures in a second email, it is now March 6 and have not heard a reply as of yet.
I called other window competitors regarding the situation I was experiencing. Unfortunately for Farley/KP,
I found some very helpful companies and two went over and beyond. The first helped me locate a company that might be able to do a home visit/inspection, and that company did not charge me nor did we pretend we were in the market for new windows to get them to come see our concerns. As Farley offered no solution and service, I was not going to be taken advantage of.My family and I do not claim to know how to manufacture and install windows.
Saturday March 4th we had someone come and inspect the windows and doors.
The front door seal is popping from within the glass.
The back door window seal/gas is gone between the glass there is a foggy haze.
All the windows have ice forming in the corners. Our inspection(he) explained that condensation is normal. With the heat of the house and the cold from outside this could happen but our windows are forming ice on the inside and noticed how cold the rooms are in comparison to our living room which is one of two windows that we did not change.
The windows are bowing which is causing air to come through. He pointed out what he meant in the corners. He also mentioned jambs and sashes where incorrectly installed and/or manufactured. I was starting to get overwhelmed with the window terminology. The jambs are thin, not very thick which most likely provides little room for insulation. He could not believe the amount of flaws.
Farley/KP offer a lifetime warranty. Our inspector searched for the Farley pdf and sent it to me. He believes that the weather stripping is include unlike we were told in the email. Non the less our weather stripping is intact as I stated. He believes all the windows should be changed at the very least the glass. He could not believe that no one from Farley/KP had come to investigate the windows and simply sent the email response they did.
Therefore I feel my email was not given any importance and hopefully the Google review will have them reach out.
I will be posting on homestar. I was told I could post pictures there for those who are interested to see.
If you value and expect customer service, quality workmanship, while keeping your home warm especially with the rising cost of heating bills along with everything else Farley/KP windows is not proving to be a contender. Their service consisted of an email that claims MIGHT be weatherstripping. This is far from customer service and believe they are not they are not upholding the bare minimum of the contract and warranty they claim to provide.
Our mistake if any was my parents had a budget and liked the payment plan and warranty that Home Depot and Farley provided. People should mot be taken advantage of. I hope Farley/KP honours their contract and my claim simply landed on an inexperienced associate inbox.
Im hoping to hear from Farley/KP. For as long as this review is visible they have not attempted to address me and come to a reasonable resolution. Things go wrong at times. Its how it is handled. This far we have been ignored. I believe in second chances. Here is my email galejandrag@yahoo.ca
