After a very bad experience with a well-known national arborist company whose management has deteriorated badly, we are extremely pleased with Birch Fumigators. Due to the severe aphid problem this year we required two applications several weeks apart so we couldn't take advantage of Birch's free 2nd application within 1 week. However, without us asking, they reduced the second service call by $25 and we really appreciated it. So, the first application cost $130 and the second was $105. They are a family run business since 1900 (!!!) and we are extremely pleased with their service!

Aaron and John did an excellent installation job with our air conditioner. Our home was built in 1961 and as with some other projects we've had done there were some challenges to overcome. Aaron figured out common-sense solutions to all of them and the job went very smoothly. They were here for approximately 10 hours so it was a long day but they never slowed down. They cleaned up very thoroughly after themselves. We had the unit installed on July 24th and we've so grateful for the air conditioner with all the really hot weather. Our home is so much more comfortable now. The Costco cash card deal was a great bonus on top of a job well-done! Thanks guys!!!

Have been a long time customer of this company, but am extremely dissatisfied with their service this year and will be looking for another tree pruning service in the future. Poor communication within the company, workers are not customer-friendly. Failed to tell us that no one was coming to spray for aphids this year as they had no one on staff to do this work. Let a large branch hung up in the tree which could have fallen on us. Took 10 months for them to come and prune the trees.

We renovated the whole main floor of our home last year and needed to replace the plumbing fixtures in the kitchen, main bathroom, and powder room. Our contractor suggested that we go to this company to choose what we wanted. They had a large choice of items and we ended up getting everything we needed there. The staff spent a long time on several occasions with us answering our many questions.

We completed a major renovation of the entire main floor of our 1960's bungalow. The kitchen had a 1980's sunshine ceiling that we removed. We had to decide what to replace it with - fluorescents, pot lights, etc. We went to Daville and their staff were extremely knowlegeable and guided us to the right decision for our requirements. We went with the new narrow fluorescents inside a cloud fixture as they give off the least shadows and best working light. If we'd gone with pot lights, we would have had to also install task lighting which was not feasible as we kept our cabinets. There was an issue with the cloud fixtures having a yellow tinge that the showroom one did not have. It turned out that the distributor changed suppliers in China and this yellow tinge was in all of them. Daville understood our concern and although it took a few months they ended up changing suppliers and were able to get fixtures that were white. Then the fixtures had scratches on them due to flawed packaging. Again, they understood our concerns and let us look through several boxes at the store until we founds ones that we were satisfied with.

Our home had a 15-yr old Maytag dishwasher that still worked but wasn't cleaning the dishes very well. We researched different brands and decided to go with Kenmore based on reviews, cost, and reliability. We bought the Kenmore Elite HE dishwasher and it's so quiet we often forget that it's on - the old one was really noisy!! It uses very little water, does an excellent job cleaning the dishes and it hasn't required any servicing to date after a couple of years of frequent use. We used our own plumber to install it as it was replaced during a major renovation.

Our home was built in 1961 and had 2 wood-burning fireplaces. We'd had a wood-burning fireplace in our old home and loved the crackle and flames but didn't like the hassle of hauling wood, cleaning ashes, and keeping a window cracked in -20C Edmonton winters so that we didn't risk dying of carbon monoxide poisoning if the furnace was running. We got a puppy just after moving into our current home and decided that it would be safer and much easier to convert the 2 fireplaces - main floor and basement - to natural gas. We looked around and this company had the best products and most realistic-looking fake logs. They kept to their estimate and the installer was excellent. We use the upstairs fireplace every day in the winter and our little dog loves to lay in his bed soaking up the heat!!
