Jason, David, Roan and their team of Green Life Restoration did a phenomenal job in removing asbestos from around a steam-pipe in our bedroom, filtering our apartment air with powerful air-scrubbers, and vacuuming every nook and cranny of our apartment with a HEPA-filter vacuum-cleaner approved for asbestos cleanup. The PCR test on 3 air-samples showed that, after their asbestos cleanup, there was no detectable asbestos in our bedroom air. They provided us with a very detailed written scope of work. They set up an excellent negative-pressure containment-tent, with a zippered door and 2 door flaps, around the wall containing the asbestos. The tent had a plastic ceiling, floor and walls, to prevent the spread of asbestos fibres into the rest of our bedroom. They even cleaned the top of our bedroom ceiling fan, behind and under our bed and sofa, the tops of our cabinets, and our shoe-rack! Everyone from Green Life Restoration we communicated with, including their secretary, is extremely responsive, responsible, knowledgeable, kind, and considerate - and I dont think that one can find better nor more reliable company for asbestos or mold removal! Thank you so much, Green Life staff, for your amazing work and for making our home safe again! Photos attached.

Green Life did a beautiful job in ridding our bathroom of toxic mold. After a leak through the ceiling, the mold had penetrated not only our drywall but also our wood. Jason, David, and Marvin figured out a perfect solution for the mold that could not be completely removed from the wood. They also sprayed our home with hospital mist to get rid of any mold spores in the air. The air in our bathroom and home feels a lot healthier now. We highly recommend them to anyone experiencing similar woes. They were the most responsive and friendly mold-remediation company we contacted. Before and after photos attached.

After my mother and I had a leak through our deteriorated roof and skylight flashing, Matthew, Viktor and other team members of Avenue Road Roofing did an excellent job in giving us a new roof, with thick high-quality shingles, a shield against water and ice, a high-quality skylight with an excellent warranty against leaks, and a ridge vent to improve our attic ventilation and increase the lifespan of our roof. Before, we had only a few small vents on our relatively large roof. We did not know that our attic had insufficient ventilation and that that was contributing to our roof deterioration and roof-damaging ice-damming every winter. Matthew educated us about different venting options, and it is thanks to his good advice and Avenue Road Roofing's excellent work, that we now have a much better ridge venting system on our roof. A good roof protects the whole home. Matthew, Ed, and Viktor of Avenue Road Roofing showed a high level of professionalism and answered all our questions. Matthew, moreover, provided us with a detailed scope of work. Thanks to Avenue Road Roofing's fine work, we can now have a peace of mind for years to come.

Arash, Amir, Nisio and other Summit Contractors team members created a most wonderful, accessible, safe, and beautiful bathroom for my mother, a senior citizen. They created a walk-in shower without any curb to eliminate the trip-and-fall hazard, which my mother's old bathtub presented to her. Amir built a sloping floor for the shower area out of wooden planks, and Nisio set the shower-floor tiles in such a way so that the water would flow into the linear shower drain and away from the walls. Nisio waterproofed the shower floor, walls, shampoo niche, and window edges both with whole-sheet Kerdi membranes and with RedGard painted over the Kerdi-membrane seams and all over the Kerdi membrane on the shower floor. This double waterproofing helps minimize the chance of leaks into the floor below my mother's bathroom. They installed the linear drain away from my mother's walking area to eliminate the chance of her tripping on the shower drain itself. They slopped the window sill and the shampoo niche in such away so that water pools off them towards the linear drain instead of sitting on top of them. They installed Dal tiles with a new StepWise technology on the bathroom floor. These 6" x 6" floor tiles are slip-resistant even when wet. They eliminated the door curb between the bathroom and the adjacent room, creating a seamless transition between the adjacent room, the bathroom's sink-and-toilet area, and the shower area, to help prevent slips and falls. They installed wooden grab-bar supports between the studs inside the walls (prior to putting up drywalls), in order to install the grab bars in a safe way, as it is unsafe to install grab bars without in-wall wooden supports. They installed custom-made Safe T Bars with GripTight technology that allows a person to grip the grab bars firmly even with wet and soapy hands. They added silicone around the grab-bar-wall connections and wall and niche corners inside the shower area in order to prevent leaks into the wall and damage to the drywall behind the tiles. They installed the grab bars at just the right height comfortable for my mother of 34" from the floor, with the exception of the toilet L-shaped grab bar whose horizontal arm is 27" from the floor. They also installed a Palazzani shower set with thermostatic temperature control and a red safety valve that their plumber programmed to be at just the right setting of water temperature most comfortable for my mother. The red safety valve prevents senior citizens (and any children, too) from getting scalded all over their bodies by hot water whilst in the shower. They installed the shower controls closer to the shower door for easy access by a caregiver or a PSW and the handheld shower head closer to the shower bench where my mother sits inside the shower. Even though this installation of controls on opposite sides of the water output was a little tricky, they still did it for us. They also installed wooden supports inside the shower ceiling and a 24" x 24" Juno rain shower above my mother's shower bench. This large rain shower has LED lights that turn blue when the water is cold, green when the water is warm and comfortable, and red when the water is hot. Summit created a shampoo niche and posted a hook for my mother's handheld shower head very close to her shower bench, so that she has easy access both to the handheld shower head and to her shampoo for the greatest possible independence, if she wishes to shower herself. The hose of the handheld shower head is extra long (90") for easier use, and its hook is positioned in such a way so as to eliminate the risk that my mother could trip on the shower hose or that it would be in the way of her grasping her grab bars. There is a second hook for the handheld shower head to make this shower head easier to reach by either my mother or a caregiver assisting her. Summit installed a Tornado Body Dryer so that my mother need not use towels nor bend down to dry herself after a shower. The Tornado Body Dryer has a special GFCI breaker attached to the electrical panel and is based on air technology, so it is safely installed inside the shower area, with no risk of electrocution. A 240V line had to be added for the body dryer, in order to make it work, as it requires above-110V electricity. They got Ninja Glass to put up a nice, thick, safe shower glass and to mount a beveled-edge custom-size mirror in my mother's bathroom. The shower-glass door is extra-wide and with a one-way swing to ease my mother's access to the shower area. Ninja Glass added Lexel and door waterproofing to prevent water from escaping out of the shower area. They also added a double-sided shower-door handle with curved edges to eliminate the risk of my mother hitting herself on a sharp handle corner. Summit Contractors also cut some special decorative tiles, including Italian flower-design tiles and a tile mural of Botticelli's painting "The Birth of Venus," one of my mother's favourite paintings, 's make my mother's bathroom more beautiful. This fine tile-cutting work was largely the work of Nisio, Summit's expert tiler. Nisio also installed a flower tile-frame for my mother's vanity mirror and flower boarders for her bathroom window and two of her three niches. Summit Contractors also installed a large farmhouse sink in my mother's bathroom that is easier for her to use than her previous standard small bathroom sink. The large sink is also practically flood-proof, as it has a large drain with a large opening and a WaterSense Moen faucet. At its highest water flow, the water stays on the bottom of the sink at the same low level of only a few millimetres, without overflowing, even if anyone were to forget to shut the sink faucet off, due to the largeness of the sink and its drain. Summit attached a granite vanity top that is beautiful and easy to clean and that has rounded bullnose edges to prevent my Mom from hitting herself on a sharp corner. They also installed a special electrical Toto toilet that has a flushing mechanism that flushes the toilet automatically each time a person gets off the toilet, without any need to press a flush lever, although there is a lever, too. This toilet has a "Washlet" bidet seat that can cleanse and dry a person after each use of the toilet for better hygiene. There is a remote control for the Washlet functions. The toilet's seat lifts up automatically as a person comes near the toilet and also closes automatically after each use of the toilet. The toilet seat can be even set on a warm setting to stay warm during the winter, although this setting is optional. This automatic toilet is of great help to my mother. Summit installed a Dyson hand dryer for my mother, which, like the body dryer, required a 240V line. It dries hands quickly in under a minute. Summit also built a niche for my mother's small towels and a niche for her garbage can, to keep her garbage can out of her walking path. They reversed my mother's bathroom entrance door so that it swings out of the bathroom instead of into it to maximize the maneuvering room she has inside the bathroom. The bathrobe hook is very close to the bathroom entrance so that my mother need not be searching for her bathrobe again - it is no longer hiding behind any door as the door hinges have been reversed. My mother wanted them to switch the places of her sink and her toilet so that her toilet would be closer to her bathroom entrance. Summit and their plumber did the necessary plumbing work and made this switch as she wished. A powerful Panasonic ceiling fan was installed to help suck steam and air moisture out of the bathroom quicker than her previous weak fan. This will help prevent the ceiling mildew problem she used to have in the past. The fan is activated by a humidistat whenever the air moisture reaches a certain level, and deactivated by the humidistat whenever it drops beneath that level. The bathroom ceiling and vanity lights are activated by a motion sensor as soon as my mother walks into her bathroom so that she does not need to worry about searching for the light switch in the dark nor stumbling through the dark when she goes to the bathroom at night. GFCI switches ensure proaction against electrician for the entire bathroom. There is one L-shaped grab bar right by the toilet to help her sit on and off the toilet. The shower bench has arms of its own for better support when she sits on and gets up off the bench. It is made of teak, which is resistant to water. Summit's painter painted her ceiling, door, and door trims beautifully with semi-gloss Benjamin Moore paint. My mother is extremely happy with her new bathroom, and I am extremely pleased with all of Summit's work. They were extremely patient with us, as it took me much time to find all the special materials for my Mom's new bathroom for her current and foreseeable future needs. They were extremely responsive, answering all my questions, replying to us always, extremely cooperative, extremely kind and helpful. They provided us with liability and WSIB insurance and a warranty on their work. They offered us an extremely fair price for the great work they did and the many fine details and alterations they attended to. They were patient with us and went out of their way to ensure everything was suitable for my mother. I could not have found a more wonderful team to create a splendid bathroom for my Mom. She will enjoy it and make use of for years to come, quite possibly for the rest of her life. I am deeply grateful to Arash and his whole team of Summit Contractors, who helped us with this complex project, and hence, I could not rate them nor recommend them more highly. They were far more responsive and helpful than anyone else we previously turned to for help and quotes. In the end, Amir even installed a grab bar by my mother's front entrance to help her with stepping into and out of her home, even though this was outside the scope of the bathroom work. Arash even helped me when I had a personal emergency, by referring me to a great professional who helped me, even though this was not his obligation nor part of the bathroom work. Thank you so much, Summit Contractors! My Mom and I wish you all the very best and will remain grateful to you for life!

We have a beautiful wooden picture-frame, which someone had painted with an ugly wall paint that masked the beauty of the wood grain. Jeff and his team removed all the wall paint from it, stained it perfectly to match our surrounding furniture, with the wood sample I provided, and put a nice lacquer on it. This brings out the true beauty of the frame, and both my Mom and I couldn't be more pleased with it. They did it fairly quickly, and charged us a very fair price, for the amount of work required. It wasn't an easy piece to refurbish, due to the intricate structure of the carved wood. We are very glad we turned to them for help to have this unique piece refurbished, and we thank them very much. The first two photos are of the frame before it was refurbished, and the last three of it afterwards, with its painting back in place. We are grateful to Jeff and his team. They truly are master craftsmen. Jeff even went out of his way to deliver it to me at an agreed upon location and to wrap it nicely so it wouldn't get damaged during transport. My Mom is amazed and says it now looks, "Like new!" even though it's quite old.

GreenSaver came highly recommended to us by our roofing company, and we are very glad we chose them. Don was one of the best managers who ever assisted us. He was helpful every step of the way. He came up with a great solution for our attic-insulation problems and informed us of several things we needed to know about, which no other company we called for quotes had informed us of. For example, he warned us that before spray-foam is applied to the backs of drywalls, the existing vapour barrier needs to be removed so that the spray-foam can adhere to the backs of drywalls properly, or that problems such as bubbling, condensation and mold can occur. I checked with the foam manufacturer and found out he was completely right. No other companies we called for quotes warned us about this nor even included the removal of pre-existing vapour barrier in their work proposals. Don was also the only representative of all the companies we called for quotes to tell us that bathroom fans and indoor pot lights need to be covered so that spray-foam would not come into direct contact with them and to include this in his work proposal. He came up with a great solution of isolating a couple of very narrow, hard-to-reach areas, where spray-foam could not be applied, with rigid-foam insulation and dense-packing them with cellulose insulation. His work proposal was by far the most detailed and best of all the work proposals we received. He provided us with MSDS sheets, liability insurance and a WSIB certificate upon request, helped us get the GreenOn rebate which was being offered at the time, and maintained excellent communication with us before and during the project. GreenSaver's crew worked hard to remove our pre-existing batting insulation. Their project manager Tony came up with a great way to protect our living space and our lungs from the spread of dust with the use of tarps as barriers. There were no problems with insulation-dust dispersal whatsoever. GreenSaver was also the only company to include the use of tarps as protection in their carefully written contract. GreenSaver improved not only our attic insulation but also our attic air-circulation by installing more baffles than we had before. Their spray-foamers, including Nathan, did such an professional job with the spray-foam that there was no gas-off smell whatsoever after the foam was dry. The spray-foam made our attic “air-sealed” for the first time. Their crew then blew in cellulose insulation on top of the spray-foam layer, to increase our R value to much higher than what we had before, to meet the new building code and allow for settling as well. The crew cleaned up and vacuumed well afterwards, leaving the room they used to access our attic in perfect condition. They even insulated and weather-stripped our attic hatch to prevent air-conditioning or heat escaping from our home to our attic and built a well around it to contain the new cellulose insulation. After they completed the work this spring, this was the first summer that we have had very nice, cool, and comfortable temperatures on the upstairs floor all summer long, regardless of how hot it was outside. Our air conditioner also seemed to be working less often, as the set temperature was more easily kept steady without the A/C having to work too much. So we have already noticed an improvement. We've yet to see how it will be this winter, and whether this new insulation will also help with the ice-damming we used to have on our roof every winter. But so far we are very pleased with the effect GreenSaver's work has had on our comfort level and with how thorough and well-planned their work was. We highly recommend GreenSaver to anyone needing attic ventilation, attic- or wall-insulation, and/or air-sealing work done. They are a company of integrity that shows it truly cares about its customers, and we are grateful for their fairness and help.

Nick figured out what the problem with the lack of electricity supply to our outdoor garage lights was, and he fixed it so now our outdoor garage lights are finally working again! He was able to see the problem right away, which we could not figure out for quite a while. He also installed sensor switches in our garage, so that the lights in the garage automatically come on whenever anyone drives or walks into the garage. He also installed some very nice outdoor lights, including a solar eye, so that the outdoor light automatically gets turned on at twilight when the sun begins to set and turned off at dawn when the sun begins to rise, so we don't have to worry about programming a timer for it. It was his idea to install the solar eye. So he solved all of our problems with outdoor lighting this year, and already half a year later, everything he installed still works like a charm. We are very pleased with AC Electrical's work and would highly recommend them to anyone needing electrical work done. They were able to solve problems we couldn't get solved before, and they also provide a good warranty on their workmanship and materials (if they are the ones to supply the materials). They are a great company, and their pricing is fair, too.

Ashley's Tree Care staff, from Management and Office Staff to Tree Climber and Crew were all fantastic. They gave us very competitive prices, were able to provide the services fairly fast, to the great satisfaction of both ourselves and our neighbours (who wanted a large dead limb of our tree overlooking their property cut so it would not hurt them or their property). They gave us insurance proofs upon request, they removed the dead stem very nicely, cutting it exactly as needed, so that it did not peel off any bark off the tree, in order to preserve the still living part of the tree in good health. They cleaned up nicely after each job. In addition to removing the dead stem, they also pruned the dead branches from the remaining still living part of the tree and raised the canopy so it would no longer be in contact with a roof. They also tied a cobra cable around the remaining stems of the tree to make it less likely that the tree's limbs could fall down during high wind storms. They were always on time, always neat, and always caring towards our tree. They were considerate of our neighbours' property when they had to enter it with our neighbours' permission, too. They also gave us receipts for all payments. They never tried to overcharge us but were very fair in their pricing. We highly recommend them to all who need good tree care, and we are very happy we found them to help our tree and our neighbours. Our tree still looks beautiful, in spite of one stem gone. Thank you very much Ashley, Taras, Marian, Jody, Ilias, and staff!

We could not be more pleased with them! They gave us a very detailed contract, far more lengthy and detailed than any other offers we got, explaining everything, leaving no confusion, with some of the most fair terms and conditions we've seen. They gave us a very fair price for the amount of work that was done. They protected both our and our neighbours' properties with tarps and barriers. They ensured safety by blocking all doors under which the holes were dug. They worked very hard, completed the project in the amount of time expected, cleaned up very well so that everything was left in immaculate condition. They gave us the best and most clearest warranty. They gave us receipts for all our payments. They provided all the requested insurance. Their staff - Rino, Angelo, Paul, and the crew were all very nice to work with. They all treated us kindly and fairly. They kept lines of communication open and gave us regular updates before and during the work. They also found a few problems once they saw our foundation walls, and got them fixed. Watertite offered us the best deal, with the fairest and clearest conditions, by far. So we are very glad we went with them, and would highly recommend them to anyone needing to get their homes waterproofed. They are one of the best and most trustworthy companies who ever helped us! They also gave us very helpful suggestions for a few more things. So glad we found them! We thank their staff very much!

Gotcha Wildlife is great. Ken came to our home today right on time, and dealt with our problem very effectively. It was kind of an emergency for us. We were having attic-insulation removal done by an insulation company, but the insulation contractors walked off the job yesterday because they found some old raccoon waste matter from raccoons we had in the attic years ago. The insulation company explained that raccoon waste matter can carry dangerous parasites that can attack the human nervous system. Ken checked both the top of the roof and the attic interior and determined that there are no raccoons in the attic currently and no entry points at this time, but he found raccoon waste matter not only in the location where the insulation company had found it but also in another location which the insulation company had missed seeing. He removed the raccoon waste matter and he and his partner disinfected the attic with Microban Hospital Spray, which he explained kills bacteria and other pathogens. He also supplied us with written proof that this was done so that we could forward it to the attic-insulation company to assure them it is safe for their workers to return to our home to continue the insulation work. Ken, moreover, offered us preventative solutions on how to cover up our ridge vent and other roof vents with a 16-gage galvanized steel mesh to prevent raccoons and squirrels from manipulating these sensitive areas and nesting in our attic in the future. We will consider hiring Gotcha Wildlife again, to do this preventative work to prevent animals from getting into our attic in the future. Overall, we are very pleased with their good work and with how quickly they were able to provide us with this much needed service - helping us not to have our attic insulation work delayed any further - and also with their very fair prices. Of the companies we had called prior to hiring Gotcha Wildlife, we found they had some of the most fair prices and also the best guarantee. Not all the companies were offering a guarantee. So we thank Ken and his team very much, and we will likely see them at least once more (for the preventative work) in the future.

Ontree have been our arborists for years now, since we've had a house with a tree in the backyard. They are always punctual, responsive, and they always gave us reasonable prices and solutions. When our tree got sick with a disease where its leaves fell off prematurely, due to too much dampness that season, they encouraged us not to cut it down, as it's still alive and as it can recover, and they strengthened the tree with a fertilization treatment. We were very happy with that solution. They also prune our tree every few years to help maintain its health. We highly recommend them.

Fedor came to our home and gave us helpful advice regarding installing drainage holes on the bottom of our brick patio fence and creating a drip edge around our concrete slab to prevent the water from entering the basement walls through the bricks and slab. Other contractors who examined our basement had not given us such helpful suggestions, regarding water coming from above, as they were focusing solely on water coming from below, through the earth only. Fedor took a broader view of things. Thank you very much for your help and insight!
