We had 2 problems, one simple (basin faucets loose) and one not (a drip involving ancient/antique shower faucets). Lance took care of both efficiently, and even checked to see whether, if the shower drip came back, a rebuild kit would be available. It would--and that is a great relief, as I am trying to keep my antique faucets going, in my 92-year-old house. I always call Hoerner for plumbing needs, as they are great with older houses.

TAS fixed both my refrigerator and my range oven (both had partially died at the same time). The technician came quickly, diagnosed both problems within a few minutes for each, repaired the fridge on the spot, and came back in 2 days with the part required for repair of the oven. He also advised me on what to do about another oven part no longer available (my range dates to c. 2005)--the oven temperature read-out. (I bought an oven thermometer at Cdn. Tire.) I was delighted to get both older appliances working again quickly and efficiently, for a reasonable price given the labour and the part.

Tianhe was courteous, efficient, and good at adapting to circumstances (an old house with special woodwork around the windows). He installed our air conditioning unit well, after heroically lugging it up the stairs (it was extremely heavy).

I "found" Tip Top Trough a few years ago, after bad experiences with other eavestrough companies, and have used them ever since. The work--cleaning or repair or new troughs--is always done thoroughly, and if there is any problem they come back and put it right. I have just had my eavestroughs cleaned out again, and the work was excellent.

This turned out to be a small job, a leak coming from an opening in the basement cold pantry ceiling, the cause of which was found to be a leaking valve in the bathroom above; but I always use Hoerner, small or large problem, because they are absolute experts at what they do. Especially to be noted is their expertise on plumbing issues in older homes (mine is 80+ years old).

It took 5 phone calls to get my eavestroughs done (missed schedulings, a trough not cleaned with the rest, another missed scheduling, another rescheduling), and a complaint about a loosened downspout connection (almost certainly loosened by their crashing/banging cleaner) was never dealt with. After the 5 phone calls and an unkept promise to look at the downspout, I had had enough. Another company will do my troughs from now on. I also discovered that they do not do the downspout etc. checkings and flushings their literature notes: "we don't have the time for that," I was told. (They did do an adequate window-cleaning.)

Tip Top Trough did new eavestroughing around my somewhat unusual kitchen roof area. They were pleasant, efficient, and professional.They were also careful not to damage the flower beds and shrubs.

The hose for my basement sump pump had decayed, so that water was splashing out and not only not exiting the pit entirely but also rotting the pit lid. I have a physical problem preventing me from lifting anything as heavy as a sump pump or carrying and cutting new plywood etc. Paul came within 2 hours of my phone call; he was cheerful, efficient; I had the replacement hose but he went at once to get the plywood, and he then put up nobly with my hovering about to offer "advice" and cautions on solving the problem. We now have a working sump pit again--just in time for the next 2 days of heavy rainfall!

We had some heavy and awkward-sized pieces of furniture to be moved between floors. Rent-a-Son sent 2 men the same day we called; they were efficient, careful, friendly, and professional. We will certainly be using this company again.
