We worked with Rick and his crew - Shane, Dan, Hunter and others on the project which included vinyl decking, railing and stairs. Rick co-ordinated all the required vendors for the project including getting the source materials for us as needed and took extra care and attention, which was great and much appreciated. Ultimately I'm pleased with the end product, and we were also able to work through some matters with Paul/Rick as they arose. Paul was responsive and helpful even coming out to discuss matters which we appreciated, and Rick is a good guy who co-ordinated many things perceptively and ultimately worked hard to make things happen. Rick and his crew (above) were good to work with. This was a big project we took out a loan for so it was nice to see Rick and crew help us finish this project, especially pushing through some hours at the end to close before Christmas. During Covid and the associated complexities, a special thanks to Rick and Shane, Hunter. Thank you, we wish Rick and his crew the very best.

First things first; a roofing project is typically a big expense for any household. At least it was for us. We saved for it for a little while and when the time came to make the choice, we canvassed 6 of Vancouver's companies, including some referrals I received from some internet sources and forums. Elements* I was looking for included skills of the roofer, quality of the company, warranty and professionalism/respect. At the outset, Adanac was one of the leading roofers - Kurt demonstrated that he is professional, helpful and competent. He was also always very responsive and had a fast turnaround time and so Adanac very quickly became one of our top three choices after the first round of evaluations and discussions. We looked at shingles options and we discussed this with different contractors. We stopped the process in early Spring due to some other events, and re-engaged our top three options a couple of months later. Kurt was again right off the bat highly responsive and whilst Adanac and a second company were very close on price, and the third company was aggressively re-bidding, we chose to go with Adanac because of the consistency with which Adanac demonstrated their professionalism, helpfulness, and commitment to quality and value. As part of this process, I also spoke to the owner of Adanac (Dan) and Dan proved to be honest, an expert in his field and also has a direct and very helpful style. Thanks to Dan, we picked up a few tips on some of our other plans (related to sun tunnels and skylights) and which will make for a much more aesthetic result. I genuinely appreciated engaging with Dan, and I believe homeowners will feel the same way. We also discussed the shingles with Kurt and Dan later in the process and they gave us excellent advice and perspectives which helped us in the details of our decision making process further. So the bottom line (as I know for most homeowners a roofing project is a large scale one) is that we feel our criteria was met with Adanac and therefore chose to engage them for this project of ours. Thank you Kurt for everything. The Adanac crew was in one word (or two!) - simply superb - far exceeding even my own expectations. The crew composed of Mardo, Meinnard, and Ernesto and wow what a fantastic team this was/is. They worked extremely hard and meticulously, paying close attention to the small details, ensuring that the roof installation was completed on time, and in a very professional way, looking after our property and roof in an excellent fashion. Each day the work site was cleaned well, the crew worked hard and with quality; Ernesto was meticulous in helping with the small details as well as being a great all round guy on the project whom we appreciated. Mardo is a great leader and oversaw the quality assurance as well as being a fantastic partner throughout the project, taking care of the project and the small details which really matter when it comes to roofing. Meinnard worked tirelessly and showed fantastic flair in his skills, attitude and professionalism. This was a more complex project as we were not only replacing an old torch on with shingles, but we also have multiple layers of roofing, and were also installing new skylights, replacing old ones, installing new sun tunnels and putting in a different drainage system. But wow these guys just blew us away with their steady commitment and technical skills, as well as excellent work ethic and professionalism. My partner has some experience in construction and each day praised the team saying what a pleasure it was to work with them and see how they worked. I mean - seriously, what more can you ask for? A great crew, a friendly team, professional attitude and then the skills and expertise to back things up?! I am so happy that we selected Adanac and really, without a doubt, recommend Dan Marr's business "Adanac Roofing" and his full team, without reservation. Come here fairly frequently for home supplies. I find the customer service to be helpful and the returns process is efficient if I need it. The downside is that it can be quite hard to find staff to help as they are spread very thin. Once you do find someone they are generally quite good. Lowes often have no tax sales, but definitely check the prices as sometimes their retail prices are higher than the norm. - that is my only complaint. That said, I like the selection that Lowes has - whether its gardening, appliances, kitchen or flooring. Bought here quite a few times and generally like this store.

I came up on C&S Tile and Stone in an effort to search for some replacement tiles. Upon entering, I regretted not finding C&S Tile and Stone earlier. A wonderful selection of tiles, granite, natural marble. Very friendly layout and exceptional staff. Fortunately, they also stocked the tile we were looking for. I was tempted to buy others because so many of the layouts were very attractive. Despite only buying a small selection of tiles to top up, I was treated with respect and received a lot of help from the fantastic staff there - which I really appreciated. The front office lady helped me ring the warehouse and ensured that we had what we needed as well and pick up was a quick drive around the corner, and very prompt. Recommended if you're on the hunt for quality tiles for the home.

Frequently shop at this HD and find the store to be helpful, with plenty of staff to go around. Recently ordered custom blinds and after a couple of tries, found a helpful salesperson who was very patient with me as I initially found the product range and different "features" to be a little overwhelming! When I wanted another week to think it over, I called the HD line and they graciously contacted the vendor and held my order for me. Suffice to say that I'm pleased with HD's service and understanding of customer service.

With the first day of Spring upon us, I have been hanging out at garden centres recently. I found Gardenworks from a Google search and headed out to Lougheed Highway to take a look. I was pleasantly surprised to see that it is a large garden center with ample choices of herbs, plants, flowers and other miscellaneous items such as wind chimes, clothing, furniture and even carpets! Price was OK - but you don't get a discount or any credit back unless you sign up to become a member (which in itself costs some money). Didn't get much service on the day I was there, and maybe because it was not yet Spring, the plants out back were poorly labelled which meant I had to scrounge around for a while to find what I wanted. Overall, however, it's a solid gardening centre for pretty much all you might need. Some selections are fewer compared to places in Surrey that I have been - but this makes sense given that the land size is not as large. But still - a large place (all depends on how much variety you want to see too)

Very large garden center with helpful staff, and a wide selection from fruit trees to herb gardens, cedars to potted flowers. You can use one of the auto riders if you don't want to walk the grounds too! I found the staff helpful and willing to help. They took the time to answer our questions and I appreciated the level of expertise displayed. The variety here is also quite impressive, and if you are very interested in gardening, completely worth a trip out in my opinion. We went to the EMCO Showroom in Burnaby a few months ago and "ooh"-ed and "aah"-ed and fussed around for a while because we were pretty overwhelmed by the choices just for bathroom fixtures! Weekends are also very busy, but I managed to get a hold of a sales person. Turned out her name is Jo-ann, and she helped us select some products and write up a quote. Two months later (yes that is how long I waited) I went back and only bought half of the order. Jo-ann was brilliant - she remained as helpful, informative and pleasant as when the quote was larger. No attitude whatsoever and very nice to deal with. I really appreciated that. Have gone back to see her a couple of times since then; each time she gives me practical, helpful information and isn't pushy, just nice to deal with! Thank you Jo-ann for your excellent service and ongoing help and professionalism! You make EMCO a definite choice for me when shopping for bathroom products. I gave EMCO overall a 9 as I find the other staff hit and miss. Products in the showroom at Burnaby are more extensive than other EMCO showrooms I have seen, but it's always worthwhile doing some research before hand as well, in my opinion.

Professional, well priced, highly skilled and did I mention .. professional? Excellent team. We recommended services to a number of our neighbours as well, and they also were very pleased with BC Plant Health Care after using them! Recommended without reservation. Thanks to the crew for the excellent work - the company is not only highly professional and well skilled, but a complete pleasure to deal with, from the office staff to the field crews.

My household bought a series of tiles from Centura. As per my last review, we found the company to be great - Sean our salesperson was extremely helpful, knowledgeable, patient. A fantastic representative and a pleasure to deal with. Furthermore, the prices were the most competitive. They have a solid range and as a national organization, are able to special order tiles also. I am writing again because we reached out to Sean at Centura again today, as we miscalculated the number of tiles we would need. In a flurry, I contacted Sean this morning to see if there was any way to expedite the order (our shipment was a special order so had to come in from Toronto). Sean was again, simply brilliant. He went over and above to help us obtain the tiles quickly, maintained the original competitive price point, and was simply a professional: helpful, courteous and a credit to Centura. Thank you - Centura Tiles is genuinely a great place to go to if you want honest, genuine assistance and brilliant after sales standards. Thank you again, I would give Centura an 11 if I could.

Bought some tiles from here but later found much cheaper options in nearby stores so definitely shop around! The good thing is that the staff are friendly and helpful, as they should be, but changing or higher prices (then discounting them) is not my favorite type of business - so just shop around. They do have a large selection so that is another plus by the way. Really depends on what is important to you as a consumer.

Come here for wood trim, and advice on various things like doors, hardware and even flooring. Good guys, down to earth and willing to help. I also found they are a bit more knowledgeable than the local big box stores so quite like this store, and would recommend them.

I can recommend Nitin wholeheartedly - he came in and cleaned our fireplace, gave us advice, is pleasant/professional. Fairly priced overall. Nice guy. Efficient. Thank you Nitin. Really appreciate everything.

Sean was one of the reps we engaged with in our quest for tiles. At the first interaction, we appreciated his approach - not pushy, informative, helpful and creative. As it was a process to get the right tile I spent another few weeks scouring tiles. There are heaps of tile stores around Burnaby but some of the tiles are lower quality, and/or the service is questionable. After going to a nearby one on Canada Way, which quoted us a higher price than Centura for the same tiles (and then requoted another higher price the following week), we knew that Centura - whilst not aggressive in advertising its wares - is rock solid with pricing and advice. Sean was another stellar to deal with - a real pleasure and made our customer experience a pleasant and safe one. We are thrilled with the tiles he recommended, with the associated mosaic pattern. Sean called us as soon as it arrived - and just a big thanks to Centura for helping us with one piece of this often stressful home renovation project. Cheers.

I use Homestars sporadically but consumers need to pay attention to the business and ethics practices of review sites. Some companies have so many 1 person reviewers, it would be hard to justify the 10s and 9.9s etc. As with all things, caveat emptor and I hope that Homestars retains their integrity and deletes fake reviews, especially from those of business owners.

I went to Nucasa because I needed a special order on a floor product from Bona. They didn't stock it but proved helpful, efficient and friendly throughout. They even sent out their truck specially to help us. Great team. Thanks so much, cheers and hope to do business with you another time!

Really surprised by the other reviews. Our move with Small Moves was excellent. I booked Small Moves based on online reviews and feedback (elsewhere). Was definitely nervous as moving is such a big deal and the last thing I wanted was to have a company that might be late, unprofessional or messy! I needn't had worried - luckily!!! The crew came on time, were efficient, fast, polite and professional. Trustworthy and dependable, they moved us from Vancouver out East. Our crew was Said and a great partner (Spanish). Nice guys and great work, very happy with the company and would use them again as well as recommend. Please note that moving is a huge deal! We took a lot of time upfront to move our small items and put things in boxes etc. don't underestimate the job and happy moving. Thanks again Said and crew!!
