We had purchased a used piano and needed it moved quickly and called several moving companies including 2 Men and A Truck and one of the large piano moving company did respond but after 3 days later while 2 Men and A Truck's quoted cost was just ridiculous considering moving Piano is not even their specialty. James was the only one that answered my call right away and I explained to him how the used piano's left pedal was loose and he told me not to worry and he will take a look at it when he moves the piano. The scheduling was easy and confirmation was quick. He arrived exactly on time on the day of the move and he even fixed my left loose pedal without charging me. He offered me some good advice on where I should keep the piano to prolong the wear and tear. Everything was carefully explained and he was patient considering I know nothing about piano. His team ensured they left no mess on the floor and cleaned up after themselves. James is professional and I would recommend his services to others.

Get one more people for the job and you can sometimes get the piano emergency repair after delivery.

My tenants informed me that our washing machine which just surpass the Samsung 12 month warranty period was leaving residue and stains on their white clothes and they've tried everything from running a vinegar cycle to cleaning out the drums (as taught by YouTube videos) and had no success. They called around and got a decent quote but I wanted to ensure that the contractor I hire would be able to do it correctly the first time so I decided to do my own due diligence and looked up Homestars for repairman that had great reviews. I came across A Man with a Wrench and although they had less reviews than the bigger players in the marketplace, I read some of the reviews and I was impressed. I left messages for 2 other larger companies and none of them responded nor picked up the call. When I called A Man with a Wrench (at 8:30pm), Alex answered my call right away and when I told him about my washing machine issue, he immediately asked me if my machine was a Samsung even before I told him ! He then went on to explain to me this is a common issue Samsung owners have and precisely explained to me what the issue was and what the repair would entail. He gave me a sense of confidence that I knew immediately he is an honest, professional and highly knowledgeable individual. His price was highly competitive for a Samsung certified technician. He came to the house and repaired the machine, taking his time to clean all the pipes, drains and drums and showed my tenants the amount of residue and dirt in the drains. He also explained to my tenants how they can maintain the machine themselves to avoid any future maintenance repair. My tenants (known to be very detail at doing their due diligence) were so impressed with Alex that they attested how amazing Alex's workmanship, professionalism and knowledgeable was and that I should use Alex in the future for all appliance repairs. Alex is a man of his words and called me to explain to me the work he performed and even offered that if I ever have any questions before buying any appliances in the future to give him a call !!! I highly recommend anyone to give Alex a call before you commit in hiring just any repairman and don't just go with the big guys as your first choice because Alex is a certified technician for many big brand applications appliances.

From the start, I felt reassured that Spring Home was going to the company that I would select and did not need to shop around. When Sam called me, he was extremely professional and patiently explained all my options (cost vs. quality) and made me feel very comfortable that I was getting a quality product. The installation was arranged within 2 days. During the consultation, Sam advised us that our Neighbour may have damaged the coil to our furnace while they were doing work on their house and was super detail in his inspection before advising me of my options. Overall, the experience was relaxing and reassuring with a piece of mind that we were taken care of.

Before contracting with Pro Stone, I went through quite a nightmare with another granite company. This other company was going to charge me an extra 40% if I wanted the L Shaped piece of the granite counter to be constructed in one single piece and not having to cut it and be attached with another piece of granite. This other company caused me so much stressed, I had to start searching for other quotes and thank goodness I found Pro Stone. From the start, Basim helped calmed me down and reassured me that it is not going to cost me an additional 40% for one single L shape piece. Then he went on to explain to me that Pro Stone offers 3cm thick slabs vs. 90% of the companies out there in the market place with 2cm. I must admit I didn't see the importance of thicker stone until the final product is in !! With 2cm from the other company, I would have gotten an edging profile that is glued on and then the need to add plywood on top of the cabinets before installation. With Pro Stone, no gluing is required on edging since the the CNC machines cuts the edging based on the thicker stone. This would have counted as an upgrade (20% more) at the other granite company but free of charge at Pro Stone but more importantly, I now have a thicker stone that is going to last me even longer ! Pro Stone also told me they would apply a 15 year sealant on my counter for free. The counter top was ready within 10 business days as they had promised and installers were so professional and courteous ensuring they clean everything up before they left. We are so happy with everything from Pro Stone and would encourage all to obtain a quote from Pro Stone before commiting with another company or lose the deposit like I did. In the end, I didn't need to settle and knowing that what Pro Stone provided me was the best quality and workmanship in the marketplace for the same price that other competitors with a lower quality product and higher costs !

I must have received 3 other quotes from comparative kitchen companies before finally finding Kitchen Pro. The other companies either were too expensive for the same detail that Kitchen Pro offered or I was just going to have to settle for premade cabinets. I was so happy to find Kitchen Pro and worked with such professional people. Not only were they the least expensive comparable to some of the big names out there for custom kitchen but the staff assisted me through every step of the project and everything worked out as promised/planned. Two other big name competitor quoted me almost 30% to 40% more than what I finally paid for at Kitchen pro. The brand new cabinets were ready in less than 4 weeks from the date of actual order. I was able to choose any colour that I wanted the doors to be without having to compromise with the premade cabinets. The detail on the island and the light valences is a definite plus. Andy helped me with every detail on the design and Summer and Ashley were terrific in ensuring the date of removal and installation went according to plan. I hired many other contractors for renovations in my home and Kitchen Pro by far is ranked the top with their workmanship and customer service. Trust me, it is hard to get a 10 rating from me given this is my 3rd review on homestars for other renovations in my home. I love my brand new kitchen and it is everything that I had envision it to be without settling for less except for the price that Kitchen Pro offered me ! I would highly recommend Kitchen Pro to anyone before they select a final vendor - check out Kitchen Pro for a comparitive quote before you make a commitment !

I approached Gallant Marble as they appear to be a reputable company from their website and after visiting their fabrication warehouse. Everything seemed fine up until the measurement day when I was told that the original measurements that I had provided initially during the quotation (which I received from my kitchen contractor) was much different than the final measurements. For this part, I agree there may have been some changes in the kitchen design and was willing to accept changes in price for this difference. Previous to the measurement date, I had advised the sales representative Leo that we expected the L shaped piece to be constructed as one single piece without the need to joint/cut to connect since this would be very apparent to the eye. Leo went on to advise me that if this was the case, there will be a price discrepancy but should NOT be material. Thus we proceeded with the measurement with a $200 deposit. After the measurement was done, I called Leo wanting to know what the final price would be only to have my nightmare started. First, I was told not to bother with the request to have the L shape in one piece without the cut as it would cost an additional $2100 (40% increase) totalling $6000 vs. $4400 with the L shape being cut and joint by another piece. I was so upset I had to get opinions from other marble companies as I really could not justify a 40% increase from a company that claims they are one of the largest marble company on the market thus having one L shape piece shouldn't be a problem. I was luckily enough to find another company who advised me that they could provide me with all my requirements of one single L shape piece with a thicker granite (3cm) & machine cut edging profile vs Gallent's 2cm with gluing on the edging profile. So what I ended up with is a better, thicker granite without the need for plywood and gluing on the edging for less than what Gallant quoted me with the compromise of cutting up the L shape and jointing it with another piece. I then approached Leo explaining to him the situation and how much time I wasted with him and all the stress he put me through. I then told him I would like to apply my $200 deposit on one of their sinks and that I was not expecting a refund. He then advised me how he had to review with other administrative staff and would get back to me. After 4 days of waiting, he came back advising the $200 deposit can not be applied towards the sink. My advice for all those potential customers who is considering Gallant is to do your homework and call around for quotes before putting any money with Gallant. From a price and quality of stone and workmanship, there are better and more reputable competitors out there.

Have more qualify sales staff that knows what competitors in the market place is offering to clients and not expect clients to compromise in the interest of Gallant.
Any advice to offer fellow homeowners facing a similar project?
Do your homework before you put any money down and get several quotes. Ask the company the thickness of the stone, is the edging done on CNC equipment and what is the price difference if you wanted one piece across a section without the compromise of allowing the granite company to cut and glue another piece.

My husband and two kids brought a detached home which we completely renovated. When I had first approached Harry at Desperate Housemaids regarding the proposed cleaning, he promised me the world. We then discussed on average how many hours it would take to clean a home that has been through renovations and he said typically between 2.5 to 3 hours maximum and that it would cost me approximately $150. On the day of cleaning (Saturday), the first thing the ladies complaint about was the fact that our central vacuum was not working and that this would cause them huge delays and thus they would require alot more time to clean than they had anticipated?? To all those out there, be careful of this trick !! I didn't know that they every home they are going to clean requires a central vacuum to be in working order ! The little vacuum that they brought with them can easily be purchased at a Walmart for $100 so no wonder it would take forever to clean! To make things worst, I had to supply them with cleaning solutions to clean the washrooms and the toilets! And the big rave about their vapor cleaning machine .. it's nothing more than a larger version of the H2O vacuum! They claimed they took 5.5hrs to clean the house only for me to find out they simply had pushed the dirt around the house with their mop. Honestly, I had to mop the floor with my Swifer WetJet mop throughout the entire house at least 7 times before I even dare to let my 11 month old daughter crawl on the floor. Her pants would get dirty instantly after crawling around in less than 2 minutes after the big 5.5hr of cleaning that the ladies supposedly did. The worst was yet to come when I received the bill for $346.50 !! When I complaint to the owner about the work done, Harry told me he would send the ladies out again to clean. I told him I wanted nothing to do with his cleaning service again and that I did not received the VALUE of the 5.5hrs that I was charged for. He proceeded to advise me that I had 24 hours to advise them of my dissatisfaction but he knew I was moving into the home the very next day on Sunday so what time did I have to advise him nor was that ever stipulated to me over the phone initially. All in all, we had a horrible experience with this company and would advise everyone to seek other cleaning companies so avoid wasting your hard earned $. It truly was a nightmare and the owner took over 7 days to get back to me after the complaint - I guess he wanted to ignore this complaint and hope that it would slowly fade away.
