Ather came same day (amazing!) to help us make sure all was well with our furnace. He was very friendly and knowledgeable and we'll be sure to use this company in the future!

We have a warranty on our dishwasher and the company that is used for the repairs is Home Appliance Repair. (This is why I put the cost at $0, because it was covered by warranty). It takes quite a few days, and proactiveness, to get an appointment scheduled. That part, while perhaps a bit more work than expected, was fine. The part that was not fine was that on the day that we were supposed to have our machine serviced, they failed to show up. At 4pm, after I had taken a day off of work, they called to say that they failed to receive the part needed. That happens - but I find it hard to believe that 4pm was the earliest that I could be notified. I would suggest, perhaps, waiting until the part is in before scheduling an appointment. To rescchedule took two weeks and several phone calls on my part. If I was told that I would be called in 48hrs, that window would inevitably pass and I would have to follow up. To make it worse, this was the third time we'd received service on the machine. The second time, the guy told me that the first guy had done it wrong. All in all, I was so put off by having to chase down people for service (and there was never an apology for missing the service appointment) plus the shoddy repairs that I asked my warranty company to use another company for our claims. They have honoured that, so I'm hopeful to not have to work with this company again. PS I'm not looking for a response from the company - they've already lost my business - but I would like my experience, and clearly that of others, to speak for the service that this company offers.

Allison, we are very sorry. As a multiple manufacturer authorised service center We have found that even our best efforts result in failure at times. Bottom line is that we did not deliver our customary result-A HAPPY CUSTOMER. We would like another opportunity to serve you and deliver our "Consumer Choice Award" winning service.

We had amazing work done by Paul (and Richard) in our basement. Very happy with quality of work, cleanliness of workspace, and reliability of Paul. He did a great job matching our upstairs casing style, while being a bit more cost efficient (since it was the basement). We wanted something that made it feel less basement-y (without breaking the bank) and Paul made it happen! Also offered some great suggestions and work arounds to those basement issues everyone has. Great expertise!

The Boyds were sub-contracted by another contractor to work on our basement - and it was certainly a happy accident! As other reviews stated, they were professional, courteous, incredibly tidy, and clearly take pride in their work. They spent a lot of time remedying issues that they inherited from other contractors and we really appreciated their time and effort - especially because we've become a bit "contractor shy." They restored a bit of lost faith and we are very happy with where things ended up!

We went with Cerastone because they were the Home depot installers. We got a few quotes, and this one came in mid-pack. Our first meeting with Antonio went great. As I've come to know is common, the budget was presented to us with allowances that we simply not attainable unless you wanted poor quality finishes and fixtures. (I should have known better!) So, right away, the budget was off. The part that it fell apart was in the installation. The workers were awful. They were messy and had zero care for quality. There were several issues - from mislaid tile (they did take it off to do again) to a mirror that was installed too low (you couldn't see your full face in it) to new plumbing not lining up to the sink to the toilet not being centred between the sink and bathtub (we moved all the plumbing and the company had the new measurements). There were several more items that were detailed in a three page word doc that was sent to Home Depot to lodge a full complaint. Additionally, there was no clean up at the end of the day. Heck, one time they even let our house cat out even after we asked that the door remain shut (we now keep our cats in our room whenever we have contractors in the house). The project manager was not very respectful of what we wanted - for example, I wanted to keep our wall vent and cover (it's a 100 year old house and it was lovely). He told that it was a piece of junk. He also installed the vent a full subway tile up the wall, and told me it'd be easier to clean like that. I insisted on moving it down, which they did, but they just tore through the drywall/tile. I had to ask again to finish it, so that you couldn't see rough side through the vent. Overall, they just did not care. We signed on expecting a general contractor to handle the day to day - but every night we got home from work to a new issue that we had to fix. This was the most drawn out, stressful renovation that we've ever had. The funny thing too was that they knew we had a whole house to do, so they could have gotten a tonne of work out of us. Overall, they under budgeted, there was no help/advice, there was no quality control, the timeline was blown to pieces, and they made large and small mistakes. As you can tell, we were very unhappy with the project. It took a long time to get them to come out and fix the deficiencies.

This is the second time we've contracted Paul to do work on our house (the first was to fix the concrete in our basement). As with the first job, Paul exceeded expectations! Our walkway is seriously one of the only things done on the house that met my 'dream' expectations (you know, the picture you have in your head). It was awesome to come home to such beautiful work! Paul was also courteous, friendly, and his team was more of the same. And - our invoice was for exactly the amount quoted.

I'm not sure I can enough nice things about Richard. My husband and I signed on to do some mouldings in three rooms. We agreed to a price - and then Richard called us and said he actually got the price cheaper than expected and decreased our quote. On the day of installation, it was snow/raining and the roads were terrible, and he had told us he'd arrive at 7am to begin work. Well, it was 7:08 and he called to let us know he'd be late (which, due to the weather, was more than expected). We had other contractors doing work that day and they arrived over two hours late - no phone call. It was just so refreshing to have such a nice exchange with a considerate person. We've already planned all the things we'd like to contract him for in the spring! Thanks Richard! You made our house look beautiful!

Thank you Allison from VB Toronto for your review. I am honest and reasonable with my customers. I enjoy pleasing and my workmanship speaks for itself. Yes, when I am late I do call, just to be considerate because I would like a contractor to do the same for me. Thank You.
