This is our first year of completed service with Hometurf. I believe they provide good to very good service. Customer service does exist, that is, they appear to respond to every request or question that was sent to them. This is good and important. Actual lawn service appears very good. That is, they show up according to communicated expectations and leave a summary report. If the service was questionable, that is, perceived as "some areas missed", Hometurf resets expectations and schedules a corrective measure. In terms of product quality, it is difficult to determine in the first year. I think a better judgement can be made maybe after a second year of service, which will be done. No damage was done. The grass appears healthy, but it was not unhealthy before. We still have abundant clover, but they don't manage clover, which is a pity.

It was quite simple: I called Reliance and asked for a more energy efficient water heater. Not only did they do that, but the model they brought was more effective too. They added the required exhaust/air exchange conduit so the installation would be code-compliant. They worked quite fast, a crew of two and completed the work in a few hours. They even made the intake/exhaust vents vermin resistant. Moving the tanks, including the old one was a beast of a job, but they did it without damaging any walls or doors. No water leaked anywhere. The crew arrived in the expected time window and were incredibly courteous and answered all questions. The service was fantastic. The heater has been working flawlessly.

This crew typically canvases the neighbourhood with mobile carts that are dropped off at the end of customer driveways. They contain the essential equipment and nutrients/seeds to service a lawn. Heavier machine equipment is dropped off by a company service truck. I usually don't pay attention to them, but one day I decided to try. I had my front property machine dethatched, machine core aerated, fertilized and over-seeded. One crew member did everything. The dethatching was thorough. There was much raking. I didn't realize how much crap was suffocating the property. Again, the core aeration was thorough. No skimping on the coverage. Fertilization and over-seeding was also thorough. He didn't appear to skimp on anything. However, I cannot seem to confirm the quality of the seeds, even after many weeks of cool and fall rain days/nights. I am still hoping. Maybe the spring season will be improved? The labour effort appeared honest and earnest. Communication was clear and questions completely answered. It appeared to me like good ol' fashioned honest work.

I was especially satisfied with the attention to trim detailing, it was very good. The service and product quality was up to the highest professional standard that is recognized in the industry.

First impressions is everything. Mike of Burlington Yardworks Inc. did not disappoint. Arrived on time for both assessment and assignment and was ready to begin work. Very thorough and no corner of the property was left undone. The work site was left tidy and bill payment options were very easy (I chose payment by email). We talked through the timing and concerns for the job. Understanding and communication (including follow-up by email) was very pleasant. I plan to use Burlington Yardworks again.

He and his team showed only positive energy. Communication can't be better: * Clear and concise. * Listens and responds (does not talk at you). * Very happy to share information. * Promptly returns messages, answers every question completely. * Issues that need attention are made understood by him. Richard provided smart recommendations. Value: * Properly fits a heating/cooling solution without the hard sales pitch. Not once did I feel pushed to decide. * Value was exceeded when chance opportunities arose and they were communicated. This demonstrates he has his clients in mind. Again, no hard sales pitch. Detail-oriented: * Does all the small steps, skips nothing, assumes nothing. * Arrived on time. * Respected client's living space, removed shoes to not soil floor covering. His team was very polite. - - - General: The solution included: Purchase and installation of a new furnace, air conditioner, flow-through humidifier, five-inch disposable media air filter, communicating thermostat, and the removal of the old equipment. I had knowledge of what I thought I needed. This gave some advantage when entertaining multiple quotes and allowed me to focus on the solution and behaviour of the bidding company. I will admit I was biased to hoping a small business would woo me because I feel "big business" with their cutbacks and shortcuts are eroding overall reliability and local market competitiveness that affects many of us. In addition, I wanted a service maintenance relationship that I could trust and was fair. I can attest that some offers from "bigger business" was vague and anonymous when I challenged them with my concerns. They also happen to be pushy too many times, and in one circumstance I made that clear to them that it was not helping their position. In any case, I chose CoreTemp and I feel that they will meet my future service/maintenance needs too. In terms of equipment brand quality, I did my own research and I am confident the choice made will serve us well for a long time. The brand is rated above many, if not most of the bigger labels, according to Consumers Reports. Richard also put in the extra effort to maximize configuration energy efficiency while remaining on budget. CoreTemp offered a package that was competitive and they met my small business preference. - - - From my experience, CoreTemp is a standout small business, and is strongly recommended. This is a thumbs up for small Canadian business.

Steve B. remained laser-focused on the property inspection while remaining very professional, extremely courteous and flexible, and patient. Paid attention to detail, shared knowledge, and summarized in person and promptly by the end of the day in a downloadable report. Strongly recommended. Thank you Steve.
