Platinum Electrical recently installed an 18kw standby generator for us. Their service was beyond excellent: I wish I could give more than 10 stars. The initial site survey with Mark, the full and detailed communication with Mahtab, and the efficiency of the installation crew (Corey et. al.) made the project one of the easiest home improvements we have made. So many details were handled so smoothly and we were always consulted -- a pleasure! Many, many thanks! I believe that the total project cost is a bit higher than usual because of our choice for the location of the generator. I have not included the hydro isolation fee because it varies widely across the GTA.

Our Nortec steam humidifier needed to have a new cylinder installed, a routine maintenance job. Deo replaced it quickly and efficiently. More importantly, however, he noted a part which needed to be replaced because the unit is over 30yrs old. We got a quote for the replacment part (and installation) within an hour after he left -- speedy service indeed. Many thanks, Deo!

I was having trouble with my Office 365 account and login, so I called Max. I also wanted to sort out a nagging problem with two networked printers, and to install strong anti-virus protection on several devices (both PC and Mac). Max came within two days of my contacting him and, in very short order, sorted out and fixed all the issues I was having. He also explained in detail what he was doing and gave me tips about how to avoid future problems. Many thanks for the great service and advice, Max!

Recent storms had damaged several branches on two trees. Chris came by and gave us a quote to remove damaged limbs, to remove branches hanging over our roof (and our neighbours) as a safety precaution, and to create more light in the garden. He and Sam turned up on time, did the work efficiently, and left our patio in excellent order. Will definitely use Higher Place again. Thanks, Chris!

I got in touch with Yaron because my regular ivy trimmer failed to show up last fall and new spring growth was beginning to cover the windows. He replied immediately. Yaron kept me posted about when he would come (the weather has been changeable). He worked on the ivy for over three hours, trimming it well back from the windows and eaves. He very carefully removed some dead ivy from the house without any damage to the underlying stucco. Many thanks, Yaron!

Wifi speed in our house was erratic and connections were often dropped, due largely to its construction (a side-split addition to an older house, interior brick walls). Max advised us about the best equipment to buy in order to set up a mesh network to replace our old router and range extenders. He spent a couple of hours setting up the system and ensuring its best performance. The difference is amazing: speeds have doubled or tripled, connectivity is strong and solid, and we can now stream without endless buffering. In short, Max worked wonders given the awkward layout of our house and the growth of competing wifi signals in our neighbourhood. We have already set up another visit from Max to help us tweak our peripherals and to install strong antivirus protection. Thanks, Max!

Two of our Bosch appliances suddenly developed glitches. The dishwasher was not draining properly, even after we cleaned the filter. Ryan discovered a piece of glass was plugging the drain under the sink. He cleared the blockage and tested the dishwasher; all was fine (work order 440596). One of the burners on our stove was not igniting properly. Ryan repaired the faulty switch and made it work properly by adjusting the contacts, thereby saving us the expense of a new part (work order 440595). Many thanks, Ryan!

Jermaine cleaned the back flow valves we had installed several years ago. We have two units: one for our catch basins and one for waste water. He did the job neatly and efficiently, explaining what he was doing and letting me examine the valves before and after he cleaned them. Thanks!!

Our old leaf guard was letting too much debris into the gutters. Trevor and his colleague replaced it all in just under a day with a much newer and better product. He also replaced some damaged eavestroughs and installed two new larger downspouts to ensure good flow. Since our house has an addition, the job involved a fairly complex roofline. All the debris was removed from the site (and from the gutters!), the yard was cleared up and -- best of all -- the price was very reasonable. Thanks, Trevor!

Pete replaced our aging computers and monitors (10 & 20 yrs) and helped us to upgrade to Windows 10. He downloaded and set up the printer drivers. He also downloaded new programs, including ones to be shared across our in-house network. Within four hours, all systems were fully functional! Thanks, Pete!
