Very happy with my new floors! From first meeting Varant all the way to completion of this project, it has been a real pleasure and stress free experience. Reasonable pricing and timelines I would recommend Valiant Flooring for your project needs. Varant and his team were extremely nice and their workmanship was bordering on artistry. The process was great where they moved the bigger items around - aka didnt have to rent a pod or anything like that. They were done in 5 days and we are thrilled with the outcome. Thank you!

I wish there was a way to give more then a 10/10 review for Remodel Construction Company. I have made many improvements to my home over the years, and have worked with all different companies. I can honestly say I have never had such a wonderful experience as I did with Chris and his team, Tim, Dex, Joe. From my first conversation with Chris at the quoting stage, I knew that this was the company I wanted to hire for this job. Chris was experienced, with great ideas that we eventually incorporated into the plan. He also cared deeply for his team and ensured that safety was a priority. He was extremely organized and hands on with every aspect of the work, from permits, to sourcing out materials, up to and including the final approval of the work from the ministry. This was no easy task in a COVID era where we were plagued with lock-downs and delays, not to mention various safety protocols. Nonetheless as soon as the lock-down was lifted Chris and the team were at my door ready to start the work. Its crazy to say, but this was the first time that construction work was almost pleasant! This from a family that was working/learning from home while the construction was going on. I know! Unheard of, right?! But Tim and the team created this dust free-zone in the house where plastic tents were installed as well as this amazing (and I'm sure patent- pending) fan-thingy was added to ensure that none of the dust left that area. I should mention that part of the work was blowing out a whole in my brick/block exterior wall in order to install patio-doors leading to a new deck. So yes, there was a lot of dust stirring, but they managed to containing to the work area. In terms of the team, you couldn't ask for nicer people, and who were respectful of the space that we were all sharing for 3-4 weeks. Most importantly the final product was amazing. Really solid craftsmanship - this guys know what they are doing! We couldn't be happier with our new deck - I wish I was able to do it sooner! I can go on and on about Remodel Construction - like the time there was the freak May snow storm and Tim pitched an outdoor Tarp so they could continue working - rain or sun or snow! And the clean-up was fantastic as well. Seriously, I cant say enough about how great this team is! So, if you know of way to give a higher score, let me know, as this company deserves it!! Thank you again!

Sharlene we cannot thank you enough fir your testimonial about our company and how you described your experience with our team it really means a lot to all of us at Remodel Construction Co.

We approach all renovation projects the same no matter how big or small they are they all need to be planned and each project has its own challanges and subtle differences than a similar project. Our extensive experience and knowledge of being in the construction business for close to 75 years means our clients have the best experience and knowledge at their disposal.

When it comes to removing or opening losd bearing walls taking out the necessary permits is the only way we will attempt to complete a job like this. Taking out the necessary building and electrical permits ensures you and also us that your project is completed to the highest standards and provides you peace of mind knowing your home is safe for you and your family. At Remodel Construction safety for our clients and staff is an integral part of our business. Our staff is responsible and recieves regular safety training to maintain optimal health for everyone.

Unfortunately due to Covid-19 we have and are still experiencing many different challenges in the construction industry however with good planning your project was completed with minimal obstacles.

Keeping the dust and construction debris to a minimum is a challenge on any work site however we like to think that we have some creative ways yo minimize dust using modified fans in a window we csn draw dust outside which also creates a negative air pressure within your home and reduces dust.

Good communication on any job is very important because it helps keep your project on time because we can get answers to any questions or situations that may arise from the renovation.

Your deck and patio door looks fantastic and we are so thrilled that you love the work we completed for you.

We look forward to working with you again in the future.

Chris and the entire Remodel Construction Co team.

UPDATE (October 2022): It is with regret that I must edit my original review for TerraNova Pools. Although we still love our pool, I can no longer recommend TerraNova Pools as service provider of choice. It has been two years since our pool was installed (Pool installed August 17 2020; landscaping in Sept 12 2020) and items that were outstanding (as mentioned in my original review) have still not been completed. I have been more then patient waiting for the promised work to be completed and at first TerraNova Pools were very professional, assuring me that the outstanding items would be completed, even apologizing for the delay. However, now they have ghosted me Rob stopped returning my texts, and even the people at the head office who were initially trying to help, have also stopped returning my emails. Heres the thing. When I first decided on a company to install my pool, I thought to hire a Pool company that also did landscaping. I was wrong. The fiberglass pools (which are made by Narellan Pools) are exceptional and work well. TerraNova partners with Narellan, so the actual pool is top notch. What suffered and continues to suffer with TerraNova Pools is the landscaping and the communication. This is important if you are looking to have a pool installed I would suggest that you go with a landscaping company that also installs Fiberglass Pools. I have provided some PICTURES so you can see what I am referring to with regards to the landscaping: Picture 1: the entry to the skimmer basket. It looks nice, but please note that in order to lift the stone to clear out leaves and to install the vacuum, I have to stick my finger into the hole and lift the stone with one finger. This is not easy. TerraNova was suppose to provide some sort of chain to allow me to pull the stone up, or perhaps shave the stone down so that it was not that heavy to lift. As clearing the skimmer is something that has to be done a daily basis, trying to lift a stone with one finger is ridiculous and not ok. Many a finger have been bent and scraped trying to maneuver this contraption. Picture 2: the entry to the dewatering system. This is the hole that leads down to the bottom of the pool to ensure there are no leaks/or water around the outside of the pool. Again, they placed a heavy stone on top of this entry way and to date I have never been able to lift it. I have no idea if there is any water or are any leaks under the pool. I will hold TerraNova Poosl liable should there be damage to the pool due to this useless install. Pictures 3 & 4: landscaping around the inground pool blanket. First, I should say, the pool blanket is a great idea and I highly suggest that you install one however please make sure that the landscapers know what they are doing. TerraNova Pools installed my pool blanket in a way that stone spacers (slivers of stone) were installed closest to the blanket mechanism instead of having larger stones frame it. As you can see the slivers are useless as a frame and now the blanket flap will hardly close. No amount of sand will fix this and after only two seasons, the stones will have to be re-worked. As mentioned in my initial review, the communication was never great with TerraNova Pools it was the reason that I couldnt provide a solid 10 back then. But now I see that this was the initial red flag and I should have taken better notice. I no longer will be working with TerraNova Pools to open/close my pool. That ship has sailed and I honestly dont trust them anymore. In fact, that was my last communication with them I asked them about continued services on the pool as I was told that staying with them would ensure the warranty is intact. Again, no response. TBH, even if there was a warranty I highly doubt they would honour it. I hope this update is helpful to those thinking of installing a pool. _____________________________________ Original Review: Last spring I started researching pool installations and decided on TerraNova Pools. Rob was terrific and based on his experience made great suggestions on type (Madeira8) and placement of our pool which we absolutely love. The installation of the pool was a true feat with the pool being craned over the house to be placed in the backyard - definitely a show for the neighbors ! John and his team were very nice and friendly. The installation of the pool was very quick, once a final date was established - regrettably it was delayed from June/July to late August. Unfortunately we continued to have some issues with delays mostly with the landscaping. I completely understand that covid posed a lot of issues for many contractors, but as materials came on time the delay was due to labour - again with covid we accepted the delays as best we could. Although I am really happy with our pool, I wasnt able to give a 10/10. This was not at all due to the delays as I mentioned this project was started during a very extraordinary year. Instead my inability to provide a perfect rating was more to do with issues of communication. Im use to contractors advising when they plan to come to the house to work - that didnt always happen and I was either asking for status updates or was surprised when workers just appeared without any notice. For example once I was sitting outside in zoom meeting when all of a sudden workers showed up unexpectedly. There were also some misunderstandings on what would be included in the work (gate replacement) as well as some items that have yet to be completed. I spoke with Rob regarding these issues and he was very professional and assured us it would get done. As the pool is now closed we are fine having these items being completed in the spring. Other then these few issues, which could have just been my personal experience, I believe TerraNova Pools is well worth your time. This company is run and serviced by very nice and friendly people who really understand pools and illustrate excellent expertise in the area. Thank you very much for providing our backyard oasis. We cannot wait for spring/summer 2021 to come so we can really enjoy our lovely new pool. Wishing you all a happy new year!

My neighbors' two very large trees had large branches that were hanging over my backyard and needed to be pruned. I contacted a few services but went with Christ due to knowledge and suggestions on how best to manage the situation. He was a true professional, who was reliable and punctual. At the last minute I asked if he could also prune my front tree and he was able to accommodate at a very reasonable price. Quite the feat climbing up those big trees and pruning back those branches. It feels really good to promote company like Higher Place Tree care - very friendly and great customer service. Thank you Chris.

UPDATE: Regrettably I have an unfortunate update on Arcan Glass. Basically after the wind storm on March 1/21, one of the glass panes shattered. I immediately contacted the owner and he said that it should never have happed and likely due to a fracture in manufacturing - it is under warranty so it will be replaced. I thanked him and then waited. After two months of no news I emailed again and they apologized for the delay and said someone would be in contact shortly. After another month of no contact I emailed once more. They responded saying they would come within the week. They eventually showed up after another text to the owner. Two reps appeared at my door with no notice (good that I was home!) and one of them had a real attitude basically implying that I must have done something to pane and that I should feel grateful that they are replacing it. I was shocked as this was not at all the experience I had with Arcan Glass when it was installed. Not only was he rude he had the nerve to ask me for tools to remove some of the glass from the metal like somehow I should be helping him as he was doing me a favour. I should mention that my son and I handled and discarded all the glass shards back in March. We didn’t remove the glass in the spigots as we didn’t want to do any further damage to the system. In an extremely slapdash-way they replaced the pane. It was very poorly installed and after he left I filmed what he had done and sent it to the owner so he saw how badly it was installed. The owner noted it and apologized for the experience - said it would work for now and when they could, they can put longer metal attachments to make the pane more stable; but for now, it was safe. Again I really had a delightful experience with Arcan Glass (see initial review below), but how this whole situation was handled has really tainted my feelings. I really home the pane gets properly installed soon. —————————————————————— A real pleasure to work with - they were reliable and punctual, but also extremely understanding when I had to move the date a couple of times due to delays with the landscapers. The crew was super nice and very respectful and friendly. The fence and the work they did was amazing and looks so good - I am so beyond pleased with how it looks. And the price was competitive and fair. In summary, I would strongly encourage to contact Arcan Glass for your glass fences and enclosures. It feels good to support a company like this - thank you so much!

What started out great, ended a bit disappointing. Pat (the head guy) was so personable and knowledgable I automatically felt like my project would be in good hands . He responded very quickly and quoted a fair and reasonable price for my project. He even went above and beyond by helping me secure additional services from an external resources (an added feature to my eaves to include pot lights). And now, a year later, I'm quite happy with final results - my eaves/gutter and pot lights look great. However, I think its important to note that I was very dissatisfied with the mess that was left around my home once the job was done. I'm still picking up screws and shards of metal, which is extremely troubling particularly because I have small children who run around constantly outside. What's even more incredible is that shortly after the workers left the premises, my neighbor and I found my recycle bin full of waste materials from the job. We spend a good couple of hours empting the bin and properly disposing of the materials. Not good - nope not at all. So all though it started well and the final results were good, I can't recommend this company. Unfortunately it is lacking in offering the complete package.

Knowing my AC was nearing its end, I found Reliable on HomeStars and was blown away by the reviews - figured I had to call for no other reason then to see what all the hoopla was about. Well, Rob and Dave certainly delivered on all the hype. They were friendly, fast and absolutely reasonable. The job turned out to be a lot more complicated then first suspected (old homes tend to be that way), but the quote stuck and their positive and expedient work finished on time. I have refered Reliable to two other people who were equally satisfied. I will continue to refer these guys to anyone who needs AC/Furnance etc. Thanks guys!!
