I have been using Spartan for a few years but in the last couple of years there has been a noticeable decrease in the quality of work. This year, Spartan has disappeared and left me to find other companies to clear my snow. I signed up for the Spartan's premium package so I was expecting good service. Spartan has changed their website address to a mall in Quebec and their phone number to an out of service number. These are signs of a company in trouble. There has been no communication from Spartan and I can also assume that they have taken my money and run.

I hired TESO to installed a couple of the new Nest Floodlight cameras. The lights are new from Nest and have a few parts to put together. Thomas was able to figure out now to install the floodlight camera without any issues. He also cleaned up the area after.

We contracted Spartan for our 2019/2020 snow removal. I have used other companies in the past few years and so far I have to say that Spartan's services and on time reliability is far above all of the other companies that I have used. Spartan Emails before the storm, even for a few cm of snow, to keep you up to date on when they will be working. Spartan is a bit pricier but they are worth it. They also offer a payment plan to smooth out the payments across the winter. Update, Spartan is not longer providing the services and is no longer responding. I am out the money that I paid for a snow removal contract till April 2023.

I contracted Hometurf this year to maintain my lawn areas. I had arranged with them during the initial call to spray the areas that had only mulch with weed control. Since I had a small lawn they said that they will do that. I called again just before the first spray to confirm that they would spray the mulch area and they confirmed that they would do so. Today, the tech visited and did not spray the much area. In fact, his visit lasted less than 5 mins. I called the office and inquired why the area was not sprayed. I was then told "we don't spray" the mulch areas. My account had notes to reflect our agreement, but looks like a promise made and promise not kept. I cancelled my service today.

I have been using Johnny for the last 5 years for my carpet cleaning. Very knowledgeable and always gets the job done. He is easy to book and shows up on time. He has someone helping him with his appointments now since he is in high demand due to a WagJag deal.

After spending months getting quotes for the replacement of our windows we decided to use Galaxy mainly because of the reviews on this site. We contacted Alex and arranged for the replacement of our 22 windows and 1 patio door. He arrived on time and we had not any issues with him during the finalizing of the contract. Since this was a mid-December installation we had some concerns on how well Galaxy installs during the cold weather. We asked Alex for winter installation references which he promptly supplied within a few hours. I was a bit concerned that the installation would not be done before the snow came but Installation was started and completed on the exact day that Alex promised. I have to commend the two installers that worked very hard to complete the job on time. I did have two issues. The first issue that I had was with the dust that last left behind. I was not warned to cover up my furniture so everything including our beds was covered with dust. I think as a procedure Galaxy should warn their customers to cover up everything. Galaxy did offer to send a cleaning company over to clean up. The second issue was the lack of a screen door on the patio door. We had ordered the French patio door with a screen but it was installed without. Once contacted, Alex offered to come back and install the screen door or provide a refund to pay for the screen. It has been a month since the windows were installed and everything seems ok.

What could this company do to improve their services?
Warn customers to cover everything due to the dust.
Any advice to offer fellow homeowners facing a similar project?
1. Check references 2. Do a visit to their offices or plant. I was visited a few companies were the windows were being build in the back warehouse with no quality control. These were companies where the cost was more than Galaxy's.
