Generator transfer panel

The electricians that AC sent over to install a generator transfer panel were polite and professional. They offered good advice, options to make the installation better for me, corrected an existing main panel issue, re-labelled the relocated breakers on the main panel, explained how to operate the transfer panel, offered to test the new transfer panel (but I had yet to buy the appropriate generator), and left the area clean. Top notch guys.

Home Generator

Generators are big, noisy and ugly. Nothing AC can do about that, Their electrical work was fine, but their gas line installers did a number on my house, huge mess, damaged brickwork, ugly yellow cable. They treated my home like the back of a warehouse. .

Themostat and Wiring

I looked for a reliable electrician/electrical company to fix my brokern thermostat. What I found was a relabile, friendly, understanding company and eletrician, willing to walk me through the work that needed to be done, as well as answer my questions thoroughly. My experience with them over the phone showed excellent customer care, as was the in-person experience with the Master electrician Kyle and assistant, who took the time to fix the problem and furthermore, identify a potential source of future problems. They were also very resepctful in accomordaing my hard-of-hearing father who was on-site for the work. If you're looking for someone you can trust - I'd suggest Ac Electrical without a doubt!

Nick and his team are outstanding! Very polite and friendly. Nick took charge of the situation and their professionalism was very reassuring. Efficient and clean. Minor issues were rectified promptly. I have taken 5 year extended warranty with them and look forward to continued excellent service.

install new pot lights and wiring in old existing pot light area

This company had done significant previous work for us and we were quite happy but the last job was quite disappointing. New potlights were re-installed but needed to be pulled down again and fixed, loose wiring lay floating in the ceiling, so when other construction workers came to do work on the ceiling, live wires were cut through. AC electrical couldnt send anyone in to fix the job until a week later. Very mixed feelingws about this company and their work.

Electrical

Go here first: do not go elsewhere. Their mantra -which is aligned in actions - is we work on your home as if it's our own.

That is accurate. They walk the talk. They are electricians, yes, but also craftsmen, knowing how to execute both the technical and creative sides of a job. They also were extremely diplomatic and collaborative with their peers, other craftspeople working in our home simultaneously. They have excellent relationship skills, back their work with excellent guarantees and are a joy to work with. Quinn was a joy to work with, but so too all his colleagues. Go here first - and stay!

Electrical Followup

Seven years ago AC Electrical replaced some old knob and tube wiring in our house. Recently I put up some new porch lights and had some concerns about the lack of electrical boxes. Nick came over and explained that the wire connections could be made between the brick wall and the light canopies since the materials were not combustible. He ended up hooking the lights up for me for free, even though he didn't have to do that. I was impressed that the company stood by its work.

Electrical panel replacement

After reading the positive reviews about AC Electrical Contractors, we contracted the company to replace our aging electrical panel. Jim arrived on time to give us an estimate, which we thought was reasonable. A week later, Jim came to do the job, which he completed in just over 4 hours. We are very pleased with the job Jim did and would not hesitate to contract AC Electrical again.

Replace 2 Fuse Boxes with Breaker Panels

Our rental property had two very old fuse-box panels (one for reach rental unit).

We were having some trouble with the baseboard heaters in the basement apartment and asked AC Electrical to come out to quote on fixing them, as well as possibly replacing the panels.

We had noticed the way the panels were wired did not look right, and were also concerned that previous owners/renters of the property might have swapped out 15Amp fuses for 20 or 30Amp fuses (which could potentially burn out a wire in the wall and cause a fire). AC Electrical confirmed that both these things were unfortunately true and also pointed out some other problems with the boxes.

AC provided a quote which was not the highest or lowest quote we received. One electrician quoted around the same price as AC, but then offered to charge $800 less if we would forego getting a permit and having the work inspected. $800 is a lot of money but hardly seemed worth risking someone's life over, or having our insurance company refuse to pay a claim because of faulty and un-inspected electrical work.

Everything went off without a hitch and the new breaker boxes came with a *ten* year warranty against any future problems with them.

My thanks go out to our electrician-for-the-day: Quinn. He was friendly, efficient and went the extra mile, taking the time to do a little carpentry, cutting the shelf we had below the old fuse boxes, to fit around the new breaker boxes. And Erin in the back-office took care of getting the permits, coordinating the power shut off/on with Toronto Hydro, and patiently answering an unreasonable number of questions from me. :-)

We would be very comfortable with calling AC Electrical for any future work.
