After our washing machine broke down in the midst of 6 family members staying with us, we were in need of a quick repair job. The problem was diagnosed quickly, but expensively ($320 for diagnostics) turned out to be quite simple (solenoid valve). They wanted to charge $430 for the part and installation. After hesitation, I agreed. We had to pay for the part (which actually costs $232 in a store), to get it ordered. I was assured the part would arrive in 2-3 business days and be installed the day received or the next day. After not hearing from them the 3rd day I called and was informed the part would take another week. By that time I understood the actual cost and found I could obtain it elsewhere, and a handyman could install it. I called to cancel that evening, as I couldn't wait another week with so many people in the house. They said I could get a refund since the part hadn't arrive, minus a restock fee. I called the next morning, and suddenly the part had actually arrived (another location they said) and I couldn't get a refund, but they could move installation up a few days (why, suddenly?). The manager was rude, and claimed I didn't understand the call the day before.
Since I couldn't get a refund for this very overpriced part, I reluctantly booked to have the part put in. I stayed home from work all day Wednesday waiting. Their phone line (Toronto) suddenly wasn't taking in coming calls! I called another branch, being told he was late. Finally I called again at 7pm and they said they could book me for tomorrow. He came, put the part in and left. After two washes my floor was flooded from a burst hose. Strange! They offered to fix it, but I have no trust in this company. I called 247 Appliance, they fixed it the same day, the tech changed his schedule to install the new one the same day! A Team is an unreliable and untrustworthy company!!
