Bullet Proof Heating & Cooling

Had a furnace out problem in October that was somehow fixed for ~$300 that reoccurred in November just as the weather was turning cold. Could not get my regular company out so called a new service in 15 minutes was told my heat exchanger needed replacement and provided three options from $4K (repair) up to $13K (new heat pump package pre rebate). I tried one more service just to be sure - Bullet Proof. Sylas was out the next day, did a full review, even tested for CO2 leaks everything. It wasn't the H/E. I felt for once I really got my moneys worth. He narrowed it down to a $100 part that had blown (flame rollout sensor). Next day showed up with the new part and the furnace has run flawlessly ever since. Both he and his manager were great, responsive and helpful. So happy I called and save $000s on a new system to repair or replace one that was only 6 years old.

AC evaporation coil froze up. Defrosted it and it froze again. I could hear the refrigerant line gurgling, so I knew that it needed recharge. Too bad my regular HVAC guy was at his cottage for another week, and we're in a heatwave this whole week. My regular HVAC guy charges $100 to recharge R410a, which is a very good price, well below market price. Called up Bulletproof Heating and Cooling, they were friendly and scheduled me in the next day (nice!). When I asked Scott on the phone how much it would be to recharge R410a refrigerant, he said "uuuhhhh...ummm... I think...it's $60 per pound and we charge $100 just for us to come out and diagnose the problem". Ok no problem, $60 per pound installed is a fair rate for R410a since it's about $180 for a 25lb cylinder of this regulated material. My air conditioner takes 3.5lb max to fill and it was freezing over, meaning there was some left in the system. I'm expecting $120-180 for 2-3lb refrigerant and $100 diagnostic fee, or $220-280 for the visit. Bulut and his crew arrived on time and were very nice guys. But here comes the gotcha: they added a $200 service fee for "doing the work" of refilling the refrigerant, even though $60 per lb is usually the price of refrigerant including installation. The $200 labor fee was also never mentioned on the phone, even though I asked "How much would it cost to recharge R410a?" Ended up paying $450+tax for recharging 2lb of R410a refrigerant. Oh well, at least my wife is happy that it got done quickly :)

$100 diagnostic fee
$120 2lb R410a refrigerant
$200 labor fee

Total materials cost: $15

The price was on the high side, but keep in mind that they are very nice guys, they fit my appointment in at the last minute, and my wife is happy with the cold air. They told me that they've even done service calls at 5am in the morning, so they are very hard working. Just wish they'd been upfront about all the fees on the phone.

Bulut and his team was great. He solved my A/C problem and provided speedy service. He is professional, knowledgeable and very honest.

While performing the diagnostic, Bulut was also patiently and thoroughly teaching his trainee. He took the extra steps to ensure my HVAC is working efficiently and maintained well.

Called Bullet Proof Heating & Cooling after seeing all the rave reviews on Called Bullet Proof Heating & Cooling after seeing all the rave reviews on google about them and was not disappointed. I had them come out to check on my air conditioner in the peak of the summer after receiving a complaint from my tenants that the Air Conditioner wasn't working properly. They gave me some steps to troubleshoot the problem myself which unfortunately didn't work so they went to check on the unit and let me know I needed a new one (which was expected as my unit was over 20 years old). They gave me a very competitive price and finished the work in a very timely manner. They were very professional and accommodating to my tenants.

Unfortunately the condensate pump gave out about a month after they had installed the Air Conditioner so I had to call them back and have them repair the condensate which they did at a favorable price of about $250. Hopefully I won't require it, but if I do I would definitely use them again!

I had to have some one come check if my window AC unit had been properly installed as a lot of condo and apartment landlords have been wanting proof recently due to the by-laws. Bullet Proof was able to get some one out in a timely manner and send me a letter shortly after getting my email address confirmed. I was able to pay much less than quoted as my AC had only one minor thing they needed to fix and was a quick 10-15 minute job. It was extremely nice of them to do this, and their staff were super friendly when I inquired on when I'd be receiving the installation letter.

Bulletproof installed a furnace and ac for us. While there was some issues with the install, bulletproof has been fair and responsive in their repairs and we are satisfied with the final product. Bulut and team are friendly, experienced, and responsive.

Bulut and his crew from Bullet Proof Heating and Air Conditioning came in September 2019 to diagnose inconsistent heating in our house and to make the duct work more efficient and effective. Very professional people to deal with. Every question answered. I would not hesitate to use Bullet Proof Heating and Air again.

Technician Marcin Wajda arrived early and got straight to work. They rolled out coverings to protect floors and worked with the utmost care and professionalism. All tubing and cables were tidily routed and secured. He was very polite and answered all of my questions. Excellent work! BulletProof quote for equipment and installation beat 3 other quotes for same products. Love the bonus Nest thermostat that was installed. Highly recommend this company.
