Capital Garage Door Ottawa

Emailed Capital about a problem with my garage door. Got an immediate reply. They suggested how I might be able to solve the problem myself, but if I couldnt, they would fix it. They let me know what their service call would cost, which was very reasonable.

From the moment he arrived, Albert acted with condescension and hostility towards me. My greeting at the door ("Hi Albert, how are you this morning," or words to that effect) was met with "Open the garage door please." And it went down from there. Everything I said was dismissed; everything I asked was ignored. it was as though I were a child.

At one point he lifted the motor unit to gauge its position on the ceiling. The signal wire got caught in the works, at the other end, and was stretched so much it was just about to snap. I tried to alert him to this, but he wouldn't listen. He just dismissed me with "it's okay." (It was most definitely not OK. that wire was as taut as a guitar string.)

I could see that what the guy really wanted was for me to just shut up and go away. So I did. A short while later, I heard a yell and went to see him in the garage. He then informed me that it would be $200 to reattach the motor unit to the ceiling and another $150 to reattach the rear rails. I reminded him that we agreed on $200 for the whole job, but he insisted that I only asked for the motor unit to be reattached. (Why would I do that? It'd be as absurd as asking a painter to paint only half the ceiling!) when I described the job, I wrote that I already have the rear-rail hanger hardware, and the first thing he said when he entered the garage was where this hardware was. So he knew perfectly well that the rear-rail hangers were part of the job.

I did not accept the new quote, and that was that. Before he left, he kindly showed me some marks he made on the ceiling where he thought the joists were, so I could use them when I attempt to install the thing myself. Except that what he marked was the location of the thin drywall strapping, not the joists. I'd never attach the garage door rail and motor to the strapping!

My home garage door's spring was broken and cannot be opened. When I called the company in the morning, they come within 3 hours in the same day.
After 20 minutes, it was fixed and both side spring were change to new.

Capital Garage Door was quick, efficient, professional and friendly. I contacted them, Albert showed up the next day to give me an estimate, and the work was done the following day. Simple and easy. Just the way we all want it to be.

Cable snapped last night. Called CGD this morning, Albert came 1 hour later, assessed the situation, gave me a few options including a firm price estimate. We agreed on the path forward and he immediately got to work. As soon as he was done, we walked through the work and he took the time to educate me on the parts that were replaced, why they had corroded, best practices to mitigating this happening again. So far, so good. He then went one step further and called out some inconsistencies he saw with my garage door and we discussed remediation steps (that I could do myself). Very knowledgeable, courteous, clean, I mean, it was a great, great experience and now I have my "garage door guy" locked in. Thanks Albert!

Great, fast and courteous service. One of the springs has broken into two pieces on the rod. The repair person had the parts, explained what had to be done, left the place clean and provided some maintenance tips for the garage door.

Broken garage door spring meant that we couldn't open the garage door and use our car. Capital Garage responded immediately to our call and showed up exactly at the agreed hour the following morning. The repair was done quickly, and answered any questions we had. Even though it was Christmas day, which could have meant a higher price, we thought that it was a very reasonable rate.

Badly twisted my garage door railing with my car. Contemplating having to leave my garage door open for a few days. Reach Albert at the company who told me to send pictures. Within minutes he phoned back and told me that Vitaliy would phone me which he did. Vitaliy told me that he could be there in 15 minutes to fix it.
I have used them before. Very professional. This time I was really impressed by the turn around time. I would not have wanted to leave my garage door open for the night or more with everything that I have in it.

Tensioner spring broke and door would not open. Emailed Albert first thing in the morning and he provided a quote for one or both springs. Tech arrived promptly at 10:30 and was done by 11:00. Indicated that one of my cables was rusty, but still good and gave honest opinion about garage door opener (still fine). One year warranty provided. I will be contacting this company to replace my garage door when the time comes!
