My front steps (made out of concrete) at the entrance to my townhouse needed to be replaced. They were weathered and sloping to one side. I saw that my neighbour had his steps redone in stone and they looked great. I spoke to John at Stone Feather Landscapes about having the work done at my place and he provided me with an estimate. He completed the work in a timely manner and always cleaned up at the end of each day. His work is excellent and the new stone steps have greatly improved the look of the entrance to my home. I would definitely recommend John and Stone Feather Landscapes.

It was time to replace the large concrete entrance to our townhouse as it was leaning and looking decidedly dated. John created a magnificent backyard terrace for us in 2021, so he was the first stone mason that we contacted and he didn't disappoint. Excellent work using Ontario stone and he expanded the landing area to give us more living space.
The work was so impressive that 2 neighbours asked John to create something similar at their places. I guess the highest compliment really is imitation! Friendly, honest and handworking fellow who I don't hesitate to recommend.

John is a true gentleman. We originally contacted him about our large armour stone retaining well, as one of the stones appeared to be sliding out of place. John came over the next day to assess and attempt to right the stone, but ultimately didn't have the right tools on hand. He returned the next day with a larger pry bar and was able to right the stone. He refused to take any payment as it didn't take him much time.

John offered some ideas how we could make our sloped garden more accessible with stone steps in a difficult to reach location, so we opted to hire him for the job. Most landscapers refused to bid for the job when they saw how difficult it was to get materials to the back as it would be too labour intensive. John found a way to get it done and was able to do it in one day by himself.

John's workmanship is top notch, his pricing is very reasonable compared to the very few other bids we received, and he is very easy to work with.

Installed a low natural stone wall at the front edge of our front lawn. Excellent quality work. Patient with stone selection. Prepared a proper base. Stuck to both cost and time estimate. Friendly.

John did a wonderful job in our backyard placing beautiful natural stone. The stone have held up well to the weather and he was a responsible, diligent and truly pleasant person to work with. Highly recommended!

John is a skilled stone mason and as soon as we met him we knew he was perfect for our garden redo.

John removed the existing planting, stone and trees. (A mammoth task in 40 degree heat). We showed him a couple of sketches we had in mind and he took that, gave us some options and in some cases better ideas and built us our new sanctuary.

John was absolutely great with some of the more fluid parts of the design - we made a few changes along the way and he was always so good about it.

Apart from having the most amazing work ethic, and being a skilled stone mason, he’s just a fun person and he was a pleasure to work with.

When I saw a friend's stone te3rrace in the Beach, I was really impressed and thought about getting one made for myself. I did look into the cost of wood decks and discovered that they were outrageously priced. When I looked into the cost of a stone terrace, I was surprised as they are well inline with wood decks.
Now, working with John was a pleasure. He was always professional, punctual and positive and made sure that our ideas were realized e.g., a custom made iron gate that is wonderful.
Our terrace is built on 2 levels and covers what was a weed infested area of about 500 square feet. We rarely ever used the space prior to getting the terrace. Now, it is a lovely area to have my morning coffee and an evening beverage.
I would recommend installing stone over wood. John is a very creative thinker so I am confident that he can turn your ideas into reality.

John has a "if you're going to do it, do it right" mentality, and it really shows in the quality of his work.

We originally engaged John to do some stonework for our (very small) backyard. He challenged our original design idea and suggested an alternate design, which would give us more usable space and require very little/no maintenance. We followed his lead and couldn't be happier with the result. The stonework is exceptional, he was fast and left no detail overlooked. He parged a portion of our foundation where we had water coming in before laying the stone down, and we have had no water issues since. Our backyard is now like an extension of our house - we use it more than we ever have before.

We were so pleased with the work John did in the summer 2020 that we engaged him to do our front yard in spring 2021, which involved landscaping, removing and old wooden retaining wall, replacing it with stone and creating a curved walkway for us to store and roll our garbage/recycling bins on. He ensured that water drainage issues, and went above and beyond, helping us with odd jobs around the interior and exterior of our home. We've received many, many compliments from neighbours!

John did an incredible job putting in a stone patio and Retaining wall at the front of our house. The work was somewhat complicated as it required a lot of working around small spaces and corners. John did the job very quickly we couldn’t have been happier. We had gotten 3 or 4 different quotes for the same work prior to deciding on John and his price was very reasonable. He also put in a new patio in the back yard and he was done in just over a day. He’s incredibly hard working and gives it to you straight. I would definitely work with him again.

John certainly knows his stuff, and his expertise helped us to pick a beautiful stone for our front walkway. John completed the job on time and on budget and so far, his work has stood up beautifully. We are really impressed with the final result and would recommend working with him.
