Peter was my energy advisor for the EPA and OPA grant offered when replacing your furnace and air conditioner.
I had the appropriate equipment installed that was eligible for the grants. I had 2 quotes done for the equipment. I got the equipment through him as he gave a better price, and he assured me I would get both grants as was also promised with the other quote.
I received the EPA grant, but have not received the OPA grant. On investigation, that should have been applied for early this year as my equipment was installed in December/2011. He also assured me on several occasions , verbally and in writing, that I would get the full attic insulation grant of $750. I only received $375. When I finally got him on the phone about this, he said he must have made a mistake. He knew what the rules were about the insulation as he rhymed them off on the phone to me, so not sure how he could make the promises that he made about the full grant.
It is obvious that he never applied for that OPA grant for me and now will not return phone calls or email inquiries. So I am out $1025 and it would have been much cheaper in the end to go with the other company after all.
I realized the energy program is now over, however Peter is a real estate agent as well, so based on this service that I received, you decide.
