Less Mess Enviro Bag

Dropped it right where I wanted it & the product was/is good. The mushroom compost I paid for is composted, dark, smelly (in a good way), & moist. Great Product.

The soils was old promising to be top quality.

I don’t appreciate the miss representations since I didn’t wasn’t shredded plastic in my soil bed where I was growing food for my family to enjoy.

Brutal. I believe my experience was not unique as many reviews shared my complaint.

My order was delivered at the wrong place. I was very surprised, inquired about it and was extremely disappointed by their answer. Very poor customer service. A very unpleasant experience.

I ordered one bag of top soil and one of cedar mulch. The quality of both was terrible. This is the second time I used them (thought the first time was just a bad batch) but I will never use them again. The top soil is basically compost mixed with plastic, weeds and all sorts of rubbish. Never again.

I have ordered Premium Garden Blend from Less Mess and their Premium Garden Blend bag of soil does not come with composed of topsoil, compost but it full of sand, stones, plastic, metal and glass.
What a waste of money. I think better to order somewhere else.

I called less mess before ordering and asked what their compost is produced from. The rep misrepresented to me it is made from manure. I ordered an enviro bag of compost and found it full of plastic, metal and glass as another reviewer did. This compost is made of household waste, not manure, and the reps are told to misrepresent because nobody would order it if they knew.

When I called to complain about the quality and spoke to Matthew he asked for pictures and when I sent those in I waited a couple of days and had to call again to ask for a refund. I was not offered a replacement or anything. I asked for them to pick up their trash heap. Do not order.

I purchased the Compost Soil having read that it and manure are great for vegetables and fruit, also didn't want to spend over $400 for soil from another source. I found there was paper, plastic and metal in the soil, I called up the company and told the rep. Within a couple of minutes I had a call from Matt. He was very understanding and not happy about what his product had, I understood as I've read many companies source their compost from communities and you cannot control what people put into their compost. He said they switched over 7 years ago from manure to compost due to customers complaining about too many weeds. I get it, but he said he was looking into a conveyor belt and hiring people to pick the garbage out like other companies and he offered to replace both of my bags with their Premium Garden Blend. They offered for me to keep the one bag I had half of, I forgot my second plan for it and had them take both. I accepted and it came two days sooner than the email said, while there is some bits in the soil because the compost blend is in with it, there was a lot less. The bags the soil came in are in great condition, nearly no wear to them, I think it is really nice that companies can deliver in these massive bags instead of leaving a massive pile on the driveway.

Spoke with Matt the Mgr. who is personable, helpful, patient and highly customer focused. It was a pleasure dealing with him. Delivered on time and on the right spot on the driveway with the X. I organized my street for a volume discount and it makes it easier for them to deliver as it takes time to take the forklift on and off the flatbed truck. Also, Costco also uses them so it must be a good company due to their high standards on quality!

I ordered 4 bags of topsoil as i planting sod on my front and back yard. As the title says, everything went well and although i was worried about the quality of the soil based on the reviews, the soil I received was perfect. No rocks and the perfect combination of soil for my grass. Many thanks!

I ordered a cubic metre of pea gravel for my backyard from these guys online. They delivered it today and when I got home, immediately noticed the damage to my porch. The brick column was clearly hit and the limestone cap is now about 4-6" off centre causing the 6x6 pillar to lean significantly. Important to note that both of these support a large roof over my porch. My daughter was home when this was delivered and expected the guy to have paperwork for her to sign, but he took off after delivering the stone. It's difficult to believe he didn't know he hit this because these are pretty large. So he took off without saying anything, which makes this a huge potential liability. I called them immediately when I got home - no answer, no option to leave a voice message so I ended up emailing them. Will wait and see if I get a response and how they will fix this. The irony is this column was just rebuilt - the pillar and porch are brand new. We just finished the porch 2 weeks ago so I'm beyond furious with this level of negligence. Definitely do not recommend these guys. They also left 3 tonnes of pea gravel leaned against that column.

UPDATE: Talked with them this morning and Matt from LessMess basically told me I need to prove that his driver did this, because the multiple photos spanning the last 2 weeks of the redone porch and the fact that 3 tonnes of gravel is leaning against it isn't enough. I have now had to engage legal counsel.
