triple pane windows

Home Depot and Peak worked together to provide and install a counterfeit product. The install person came to the house to measure for 15 triple pane windows. They installed windows that functioned less than that of triple pane. The total unit width is 11/16 inch, not the 1 3/8 as in store models. Scraped ice off interior daily. They used toxic caulk that was stil attracting bugs a year later. No permanent label to identify source of manufacture, as required by law and which was on ll store models.Low e argon specified in the contract cannot work as expected in such a narrow space. Hydro tech experts speculated they might have squeezed 3 panes into a dual sized frame. They were supposed to be "worry free" and "results guaranteed". Written numerous letters since 2017 install. They wanted me to pay additional $6292 plus tax to get their Diamond brand of triple pane, claiming I had order their cheaper brand of triple pane, named Platinum. No brand names were mentioned nor in contract. This was one of the numerous tactics to avoid responsibility for all the damage done to my house. I have lots of letters from Home depot head office, with numerous errors of fact. I presented them with a letter from NRC Office of Energy Efficiency, stating the windows were "Not acceptable" but they claimed they exceeded required standards. If so, why did "my windows" look so different from the store display models? The store display models appeared to have the required spacing between panes of approximately 1/2 inch.I repetedly asked them to correct their deception but was hung up on, given false promises, kept on hold for longer than an hour before being disconnected, a few seasons later, after house is damaged, told to remove all 15 windows and bring them back to the store; difficult for a senior, a woman with no work crew. What would I have done with 15 holes in my house in winter?I would have preferred they put the house in the condition it would have been in if they had installed the correct product as specified in the contract they generated. Now I discover from Home Depot staff that some of the windows contracted for were never available in triple pane and are not currently available in triple pane. Why would they generate a contract for triple pane windows which they could not provide?

Bathroom vanity installation

We were assured that the installers were coming, by text, phone and email. They did this 4 times, and 4 times they did not show up. This caused us great inconvenience over a 2 month period. We gave up and got a refund for the bathroom vanity we purchased from Home Depot.

Roof Leaks

Roof was installed in 2016. Noticed leaks in Spring 2021. No one at home depot could find the warranty information in 2021.
Conveniently, the roof contract was found in in 2022, after the labour warranty expired.

"Also, Peak informed me that unfortunately the parts warranty is not transferable and stays with the Curtis"

This means that the warranty wouldn't transfer after the sale of the house. Don't contract with home depot. It's full of people that don't care because it's such a big company.

Window Installation

I contacted Home Depot online for a bathroom window installation. I wanted a frosted window because the window would be in the shower/bathtub in a residential home. It
had to be COMPLETELY PRIVATE.

The sales rep said they could not provide a frosted window but they could give me a TOTALLY PRIVATE window. He guaranteed that no one could see anything unless they put their nose on the window, and then it still wouldn't be clear.

The moment the installation was finished I was shocked. I was 12 feet away and could see their employee through the window (he was outside) - shapes, colours, objects. I immediately sent them a photo.

After many phone calls and emails PEAK INSTALLATIONS would not do anything about the window. They said they installed the window I ordered. I told them I ordered it because their salesman guaranteed it was private. I pointed out that since the salesman said they could not give me a frosted window he should also have told me they could not give me a totally private window. I was misled.

In the end, the regional supervisor said, "in good faith they would give me a $30 credit to my bill or a $30 Home Depot gift certificate". I did not think that was fair exchange for not delivering what was promised. In the end, I did not receive a credit or a gift certificate.

Disappointing Service and Warranty

HomeDepot Peak Installations installed 10 windows at upper level in March 2018.
Last year in early spring, we found there was leaking water from the frame of a picture window. The water was melt from the ice build-up around the jam. The installer didn't seal the window properly. I didn't claim it but I should.
This year about three weeks ago we found there is a long crack on the middle glass of a fixed wing of a sliding window. The window has been closed for months. We didn't pouch or touch it too. I think it might be caused by weather and maybe also the sealing. So I contacted Peak Installations. The labor warranty is only one year so I guess I am okay. However they told the window is limited lifetime warranty so this crack is not coved at all. This is absolutely non-sense to me. They didn't come and investigate the problem and already determined this is not a quality issue. Peak told me to buy some sealer in homedepot and seal the crack by myself. But, the crack is on the module glass of triple-glass. How can I reach it? So disappointed with such a giant company. Bad quality
and service.

Window installation

Ordered the windows in July they didn’t arrive till September. The guys came from London, arrived at 10 left at two. They did a terrible job ,crushed a screen, left a huge mess. Caulking job was sloppy, they left the stickers on all the windows. I’m still waiting in November to have this job fixed, they have cancelled three times. And I still don’t have a firm date from them. Avoid Home Depot in Windsor Ontario if you’re looking to get windows. No help from the store whatsoever.

Excellent service and installation

We had a new back door installed by Peak Installations/ Home Depot. The co-ordinator (Danielle) was very helpful working around our tight schedules to get the installation done.

The door is better than we expected! The installation guys were courteous, and did a timely and thorough job.

Overall, very nice people to work with and a great job!

I had what I through would be a tough job installing a new patio door...but the team that arrived at my house were professional and completed the job, making it look easy. The results were fantastic. Everyone who comes by can't believe how the door adds so much natural light to our living space.
