Water filters

I have been ordering my replacement filters & mineral stones for our counter Water Filter for a few years from GTA and have been very happy with their service. The reminder to re-order by e-mail is a great help. I now also ordered the Filter for our Iron Filter, again the service was excellent.

A little homework pays off

I'm a writer / journalist by profession, I am an inveterate online shopper and I am a stickler when it comes to web sites. I could provide GTA Water with a list of suggestions for its online storefront, but I have no quibble with their service or with the quality of the goods. I had been doing business with a US company. In recent months, the depreciation of the Canadian dollar notwithstanding, the US company dropped the ball on customer service. (I believe GTA once carried their line). Good riddance. I flushed them and went looking for something I could use with my existing (under counter filter) tap installation. Enter GTA Water. I inquired, they replied. I placed my order and was very pleased to unbox a sturdy 2-stage unit (twice the size of the unit it replaces), with all fittings taped and ready to go. Installation took but a few minutes and flow pressure is conspicuously improved. Shop around, do a little research and you will find GTA comes through on price and on technology.

WELL WATER FILTERS AND UV BULD

Worst customer service!
They rarely answer phone calls or respond to emails.
My experience with ordering two well water filters was billed incorrectly and charged again for remaining balance. Not sure this company's staff is qualified to run this business.
Gave them a second chance and tried to order an UV light bulb, sent them three emails with photos of all the model numbers and part numbers and took them more than a week to reply to my emails and still require more information and during this entire week they have not answered any calls or cleared their voicemail to leave any messages.

I WOULDNT RECOMMEND SHOPPING HERE!!!

GTAwater has two phone numbers, one local 416-618-3532 and a call toll-free number 1-888-322-3589. We would say 90% of the time people can reach us from one of the lines. The phone is open between 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Monday to Friday. Therefore, if this user can not reach us after a couple of calls, then it is just a matter of luck that we are busy helping other customers. Also, email can never be reliable. We feel this user’s rating=0/10 simply unreasonable. If it is urgent then there is no harm to just call again.

Water filter

Our friend recommended us GTA water. I would also recommend it. It had a good selection of systems and the price is competitive. The installer arrived on time, was very helpful, and did a great job. Very satisfied with GTA Water.

This is in reply to the review below. GTAwater has been in business over 10 years, proudly serving Canadian customers with brand name products and FAIR service. We follow standard industry best practices for online retailing. That is: 1) We will ship what the customer ordered, 2) If GTAwater made a mistake or the product is defective-on-arrival then we will cover related shipping costs to switch the product, 3) If customer made a mistake and order the wrong items then customer will pay for associated shipping costs, 4) If both parties made mistakes then we ask to split the associated shipping costs.

If a product is not in stock, we will make effort to inform and ask buyer if they ok to switch to alternate brand and reimburse the cost difference. Our people has many years experience on the residential water filtration products -- not often, but SOMETIMES, we may decide to simply switch to an alternate, comparable brand, mainly to save the buyer delay in receiving their products. This can make a difference in receiving the product in say 2 days vs 10 days. The brands may be different but we always recommend comparable quality and performance alternatives. There are many alternate water system and filter brands in the market, and many of them do perform very comparable to each other. Hence, as long as the fittings are compatible then customers will get similar performance, and oftentimes won't notice any difference.

If a product is switched, it is primarily to avoid delay shipping out the customer's order. However, if the customer is not satisfied with alternate item received, they are welcome to inform the company and we will make arrangement to switch the product at our cost. That is very reasonable expectation.

The customer below (Mfterns) wrote that long negative review even BEFORE contacting GTAwater and giving the company a chance to resolve the issue. That is unfortunate. That customer obviously had very very high expectations and the instant an issue arises, jumps to the conclusion that the company is a bad company. And goes on a tangent to write a multiple page review that touches on many unrelated topics. Those customers just care about their own interests and does not care about the negative impact it may have on others (despite many of its opinions are incorrect or taken out of context). GTAwater resolved that customer's issues promptly after she contacted us regarding her concerns.

GTAwater believes in providing quality FAIR service to all our customers. If the customer is a fair person, has reasonable expectations, and consideration of what is right or wrong, then they will be very satisfied shopping at GTAwater.com. If the customer is not tolerant of any unintentional issues that may arise, and believes the world owes them, then they may be better served by businesses
that cater to such needs.

RO System

I did a lot of research on reverse osmosis under sink systems and called a number of companies. GTA water had a good system and the price was very competitive. I asked a bunch of questions and researched the actual product they use - VERTEX - and everything checked out to be accurate based on what they said. The installer arrived on time, was very helpful, and I had him add on an extra filter that adds minerals back into the water. Very satisfied with GTA Water and would recommend them.

GTAwater Reverse Osmosis Counter Top

Be careful when buy from http://www.gtawater.com/

I would like to caution all Canadian residents who are looking for RO systems to protect their families by providing RO purified water.

I am an immigrant to Canada and since I felt that the water that I got at my apartment was not tasting good, I decided to buy an RO system. I had a feeling that the water was not safe to drink.

In my home country we had excellent RO systems from Eureka Forbes (http://www.eurekaforbes.com/) and Kent. I was hoping to get the same in Canada.

A quick search in Google will get you http://www.gtawater.com/ which shows a complete collection of water treatment and purification products.

This site talks a lot about how they provide the best certified products for water purification. All good information to convince you to buy stuff from their website. They even do a comparison saying that other companies don't sell products with the GOLD seal.

You will notice that when you look at their top end product it says that it has the GOLD seal. There is no mention of the company. So I am assuming that it is their own assembled cause they do not mention any reputable company anywhere. They keep saying it is from US. Who cares if it is from the US. Most products now days are sold out of China in countries like US and Canada. Sad to say that these products are [U]sometimes[/U] of very low quality.

DO NOT be fooled with the discounts and the sales. They are always showing a high price and then still sell at the same rate. They entice you to buy saying "Sales Ending <date>, BUY NOW!!"... This is all FAKE. Do not fall for these sales. They don't mean a thing. In fact the product that I got from them is of lower quality and that too for higher price than what I would have got if I bought the same from Eureka Forbes and Kent.

My Wife and I went ahead and bought an RO Counter top model and also ordered for replacement cartridges along with a TDS meter

Firstly they DID NOT send me a RO Counter Top. Instead they send me a cheaper basic water filter (NON RO) http://www.gtawater.com/index.asp?pgid1=167&pgid2=&pid=2272&lg=0 and then also send me incorrect cartridges. Even the TDS meter that I asked for which is the the higher end HM digital AP1 (http://www.tdsmeter.com/products/ap1.html) was not sent. They charged me for the AP1 but send me a cheaper basic TDS meter which does not have temperature compensation http://www.tdsmeter.com/products/zt2.html

When I contacted their support and asked them why the complete incorrect order they replied that I have to send them pics. I sent them pic. Then they apologize and say we dont know how a mistake like this can happen. Then they say, we don't have that TDS meter. We only have one which is this one and you can keep it. (I am thinking why should i pay higher and get an inferior product). I ask them to replace the RO products and cancel my TDS meter and refund the amount.

After 5 days I get the actual RO Counter Top that I ordered for. I thought to myself. At least they were nice enough to send it.

But Wait... I notice that the filters that they have sent for the RO are not the same as the ones that come originally installed. Over that the ones they have sent actually cost less when you order them separately on their own website.

The original replacement cartridges are
Omnipure K2505-JJ Sediment Water Filter - (Dirt and Sand Reduction)
Omnipure K2533-JJ GAC Inline Water Filter - (Chlorine Taste and odor reduction) (PRE)
Omnipure K2540-JJ Coconut Carbon Water Filters - (Chlorine Taste and Odor Reduction) (POST)

They Charge 79.97$ for the replacement. But send me (two K2533-JJ cartridges and one K2505-JJ cartidge). Total cost if ordered separately is 59.97$. So they are actually charging 20$ more by fooling us to pay 79.97$ on the page where the RO Model is selected.

They never sent K2540-JJ which is the post carbon filter. Even though they sell it on their website. There is something really wrong here.

If a company tries to push inferior products and not even inform the customer pro-actively. They are unethical and trying to fool you.

If you refuse the complete order from GTA they will charge you a restocking fee and processing charges and shipping charges for something that is not at all your fault.

My advise to all future RO buyers. DO NOT buy from GTAwater without doing your own research. Can you risk your families health to the inferior products from an unethical company.

NOTE: All the prices and links that mentioned are as on 28th June 2012. I have screenshots to prove the prices if you see that they have been changed by GTAwater.

Update:
Quick Update on my above post.

GTA water replaced the Incorrect products and also refunded the excess charged amount after I contacted them.

The refund was processed without any issues which is a good thing.

I would however like to state that the company constantly says that they will give similar products in place of what was ordered, incase they dont have what you have ordered for.

They will decide what you need and not ask you if you are ok with it.. If you have questions then you can come back to them to dispute the products and then they will do a replacement. This is the business model they follow.

They say they have 1000's of products and don't have any real time inventory tracking. So if you have ordered an item .. you may have ordered an item that is not stocked and they will give you a different product that they feel is similar. Sometimes and this has happened in my case they will pass of a product that is costing lesser than what you ordered.

the company has not made an effort till date to change the pricing of the filter bundle or also put a note that though all products are listed .. they do not have them in stock.

So I would suggest that you contact GTA water and check for availability of a product before ordering from them.

What could this company do to improve their services?
They should have clarity on the availability of products. They should proactively contact customers if they do not have the product in stock and not send customers similar products where the cost may be lesser than what the customer paid. Improve the website to show upto date and correct information. They need to understand that what customer needs and what they want to give in place of that need is not always acceptable. You cannot decide for the customer. Interact with the customer more before shipping out similar products to the ones ordered. They have a good business on hand but they are not transparent and ethical when dealing with the customer. If they are improve on that front they will do much better. i hope they improve and will them all the best.
Any advice to offer fellow homeowners facing a similar project?
If you have to buy from GTAwater then please call them and ask them specifically for the product or filters or accessories you need. If they have it in Stock then order otherwise dont bother. Look else where. Check the price difference for the products you need and the products they say are compatible. All the best.

Water Filtration System

I was looking for a reverse osmosis water filtration system and found GTA Water via Google search. They had a special promotion on the system I wanted and I called to place my order. My order was handled professionally and the installer arrived on time.

I was very nervous because my granite counter top required a hole to accommodate the new water spout dispenser. That mean they had to drill my granite counter top. They reassured me that they do this all the time and if they break or crack my counter top they would replace it free of charge. They assured me that their work was insured and guaranteed.

Much to my delight the installation went flawlessly and I am extremely with their service. Needless to say they have earned my trust for amy future water filtration products.

I recommend GTA Water highly.
