New garage opener from Sears, instal less than a year. Jan 31, 2009, technician arrived 11:45am, $120 to replace circuit board plus labour $55, plus tax. Senior light also burnt, can be replaced later around $80. To my knowledge, both the circuit board and the sensor light does not damage and burnt out that soon. Paid him $58 and let him go without fixing. Another technician recommended by my friend came and $60 for mounting the sensor on both side of the door. Both the circuit and sensor light are in good condition.
For the next 2 weeks, I kept calling 1-877-903-6677. Told me that their company is in Ontario, the company contract the job to technician in Vancouver. Told me that the technician was an expert, the circuit and sensor light might not last, he suggested to replace it. There is nothing she can do for me.
I wrote to Better Business Bureau, I received a letter back from BBB dated April 8, 2009, " the matter has been closed as a " no response " complaint in the company's file.
" we regret to advise you that our effort to assist with the satisfactory resolution of your complaint has failed. we have not received the requested written response from the subject company. From this we must conclude that the company chooses not to cooperate with the BBB in this instance. In handling complaints involving non-accredited businesses, we rely on the voluntary cooperation of the business."
Today is Feb 6 2017, since the fixation of the sensor for $60, my garage door opener is still operating fine.
