Toronto Van Lines

-promised piano specialsist did not come. The movers themselves were ill-equipped – they did not have the proper equipment to move the piano. Result-my wall and beautiful floors completely damaged! (Serious, deep scratches)
-no runners- I had to get professional cleaning
- not enough supplies to move or pack my house. I am sure half the stuff I put in storage will not make it out unscathed
- tiny moving van, requiring more than one trip- apparently they only have one size!
-time estimate to pack was way off
- time estimate to move was way off
- company not returning repeated calls after promising to rectify the damages
Horrible horrible horrible experience!

After reading the reviews I wasn't sure whether to go with Toronto Van Lines. This company was not my first choice for the move. But my first choice wasn't available. There were very good reviews, and very bad ones. It seemed to depend on what team showed up at your door.

Fortunately, we got a good team. Everyone showed up, right on time. The guys worked hard and the job went quickly. There were a couple of pieces that were tight to maneuver, but they handled them well. Moving is stressful.

The move was pretty simple. Once they got things out of the house and onto the truck, we were just putting everything in storage. But they drove quickly to the storage facility and didn't waste time there. We (the 4 guys) moved a 4-bdrm house into storage in 5.5 hours, including storage time. It was like pulling a bandaid off quickly. It was stressful during the move, but was over quickly and turned out well in the end.

After reading the reviews for this company, I was a little worried. But I had paid a $200 deposit and was committed.
After the move I felt definitely sorry I did not read the reviews before paying the deposit!
Everything went wrong: movers arrived late, they damaged my neighbour's property while maneuvering their truck, they had not brought blankets or anything other movers use to protect their customers' belongings, they were constantly taking lengthy breaks, they were not careful and a lot of items were damaged or even broken, allegedly it took 12 hours to finish a job that was supposed to be done by noon...
But here is the icing on the cake: before the movers finished unloading their truck. I was asked to pay them in full otherwise they would keep my property!
Simply put, this is extortion. Especially when the final price is more than twice the initial quote.

Stay away from these people, far far away...

I just had a move to North Bay with Toronto Vanlines. My move was long and complicated but with the help of Ana who did the estimate, to Victoria in the office, to the men who moved me everything went well. The movers arrived on time, protected my furniture and I am pleased to report no damage. I recommend them to everyone. Thank you Toronto Vanlines.

Had a great experience with Ana, their estimator. She quickly tallied up our estimated cost, the visit was pleasant and the estimate fairly close. Moving guys were competent, got the job done without any problems and worked hard. Good experience all around.

Ana at Toronto Vanlines was amazing from setting up a quote on the moving costs and to scheduling the move. The moving crew showed up on time, wrapped and loaded all furniture and boxes onto truck. They then unloaded everything into new residence, placed furniture in locations indicated, and removed all packing materials. They used mirror box for all my large paintings, glasswork and other fragile materials. The crew was very cooperate, courteous and effective, and NOTHING GOT BROKEN!

Toronto Vanlines movers were awesome to work with. They were on time,professional,careful, quick, friendly and fairly priced. They took care of my furniture like it was their own and load and unload it with expertise. Ana helped me to book storage and made all necessary arrangments. I would use them again and highly recommend the company for all moving needs.

Beware of this organization, good salesperson but a terrible service. Movers didn't bring any equipment, damaged my property & house and Dis not return items that I lent them(theft). I have been trying to make an insurance claim with the company for 2 weeks, nobody will return my phone call. They claim to be insured but seems doubtful at this point.

We had a horrible experience with the company. Upon the initial quote we where promised professional and experienced movers, company also stated they where insured against all accidental damages to both personal possessions and property. All these promises are FALSE, my possessions and property was damaged during there services. I've called there office numerous times trying to resolve these issues with no success. After numerous attempts I've finally realized all the damages incurred will be an initial expense at my own cost. Company is very deceiving.

Great company! We had an incredibly good moving experiences with Toronto van line. I would recommend them to family and friends and even strangers. They were kind, professional, quick, and we had no hiccups whatsoever. They packed all furniture and move them carefully. I will use them every time we move. They moved our stuff from North York to Etobicoke within a morning and were a real pleasure to work with. No damage no wasting time. Great experience.
