Davey Tree Care Experts Thornhill

NOTE: I see there are numerous Davey Tree companies listed. I assume it's all part of the same organization. The arborist/representative who visited us was Kyle who delivered on all that he promised.

We've had this tree in our front yard for the 18+ years we've been in our house. In the past few years, it started dropping crazy amounts of sap on our cars and the pine needles got everywhere. It was time to take it down so we got several quotes. The winning bid went to Davey Tree since their price was competitive and they would take care of the permit process with the city of Vaughan. The permit process took several months, all due to delays at the city. Once we got approval the Davey team was here in a week to do part one - cut down tree. The crew of 2 arrived around 9am and after scouting around the tree, made a few cuts and it was down in seconds, falling exactly where they planned. The whole thing was cleaned up in 1 hour and 30 minutes. Then a couple of weeks later, a crew of one arrived with the stump grinding tool. He was extremely careful to work around our inground sprinkler system and explained everything he was doing. As the pictures show, it was a clean and problem free process. I highly recommend the team at Davey, the results are clear for all to see and the team was truly a pleasure to deal with.

Had my tree split by a windstorm and found their company online who came quickly within 24 hrs to assess the damage and offer us best options at fair prices with no sales pitch or pressure to proceed which is rare these days.

My experience with Davey tree was a disappointment. The first issue I had was that the crew that was sent to cut the tree down did not finish the job because they were not told about the metal fence that had grown into the tree and refused to do anything about that, although I had been told my the person who estimated the job it could be done.
The second portion of the work, which was putting lines and braces on a different tree they didn't do because they said that they had another job and had to go. The work was estimated in June the work due to weather conditions and different issues with Davey Tree not doing their job that it finally got completed at the end of August. Even then there was a portion of the tree that was hanging from a phone line and they made an appointment to come and look at it. I waited all day and no show. The piece of wood is still there to this day. Very Disappointed in their service.

At my request, Dan came around to take a look at our two large trees and provide an estimate. He spent some time explaining the various pruning options. I decided to go with Davey because Dan offered a clear proposal at a reasonable price. The work was done as scheduled, according to the agreement, and with appropriate care. All debris was cleaned up. I was very satisfied with Davey.

The Town of Markham left a note one day saying that two trees were dead and in danger of falling and that we should have them professional removed within 15 days. We called Davey Tree experts and they came with a special truck that had a ladder and the crew were very professional. They cut down the tree in sections to make sure the tree did not fall on the house or the street. We were very pleaed with their professional work and prompt response. We then notified the Town and they came back to inspect and were satisfied of a job well done.
