Pella Windows And Doors

Ah, Pella, the company that has proven to overpromise and under-deliver. A few things to know before you purchase:
- Pella doesn't make all of their doors. So you are paying for a middleman for no benefit.
- Pella has very uneven performance on delivery times. Ask in advance how often they hit their target. We have experienced long delays which we now understand Pella knew about when taking our order but did not tell us about. Even after giving them a 6 month grace period, they are still finding ways to stretch it further.
- Be prepared to have to chase. Our experience is that - once they have the order - you won't hear from them again unless you are persistent.

Love in-home consult! Nice savings! Friendly consultant, competent, quiet and polite installers. Work done in one day, as promised. work supervised by consultant. Very satisfied with quality products. Very good follow-up.

Our salesman Frank Polyzotis is a very nice guy, and easy to work with. And the installers were fantastic as are the windows.
We did have a problem with the installation date being changed on us, and there was no follow up when we did not get in touch ( only one e-mail was sent which went into “junk” and was not discovered until Pella did not show up on the schedule date). My husband and I had a very frustrating day ( missing work, and trying to get someone from Pella to return our calls). And NO ONE ever apologize for their lack of follow up, which I found very disappointing. Having said all this when the Windows were installed the installers were hard working, very professional, tidy fellows who did a beautiful job. We love the Windows and would absolutely recommend Pella. Just plan to call them to confirm your installation date.

We had always had good success with doors from Pella, out of the Toronto office, so when we moved to the Ottawa area we decided to splurge on a $7500 premium hardwood entry door. What a mistake! Ordered on June 23rd, promised on August 17th, the door was delivered on the 18th. My crew began the installation process on September 2nd, and immediately upon unpacking the door and sidelight assembly, and attempting to fit it into the rough opening, saw that the unit was significantly out-of-square - close to one inch over seven-feet. Thinking this was perhaps an error having to do with the rough opening, we lay the door assembly flat on the deck, and re-measured - again an inch out-of-square over the seven-foot height of the door. We reported the flaw immediately. A Pella engineer arrived two weeks later (our house was still without an installed door - we were using plywood to close our house at night!), confirmed that the door assembly was indeed defective, and promised that the company would be in touch within the next several days.

That was almost two months ago. We still have not heard from Pella regarding their plans to replace this door. We still have only a temporarily-installed front door. We have not received a reply to our many inquiries as to when Pella will take care of this problem. They pocketed our $7500 and left us with ... a door that won't close properly!

If you're considering the purchase of a high-quality premium entry door, I would look elsewhere. Pella, at least in the Ottawa region, cannot be trusted.

While they performed a great job at a reasonable cost, it took them about three months to perform the window repair because of the actual waiting for the actual material.
Pella was courteous, helpful, knowledgeable and efficient.

I was frustrated when my planning process went off the rails when the representative with whom I was dealing left the company and I did not click with the new guy. The regional manager personally took over my file and went above and beyond to travel to Ottawa to ensure that the process got back on track. I am extremely satisfied

One of our old Pella windows needed to be replaced but the model was no longer available so the Pella representative came to our home and took all the necessary measurements and had the new window made so it would match our other windows. The new window arrived several weeks later and it matched perfectly. The Pella techician installed it and it looks great.
