I recently had an extremely disappointing experience with Canadian Appliance Source (CAS) and I want to share it to warn others.
We purchased a fridge from the Vaughan showroom with specific instructions about the tight space we had. The salesperson assured us that the fridge would fit. However, after delivery, we discovered that while it fit the space, we couldnt open the door because it required an additional 2.5 inches of clearancesomething the salesperson failed to mention.
The customer service experience only made things worse. After realizing the issue, we attempted to contact CAS to resolve it. The only way to reach their after-sales team was through a web form, and even after multiple attempts, it took a full week to get a response. During that time, we were without a functioning fridge. When I tried calling, no one would speak to me directly, and I was repeatedly told I couldnt be connected to the person who could help.
In the end, CAS offered to exchange the fridge but insisted on a 25% restocking fee and additional delivery chargesdespite the fact that the mistake was due to their staffs lack of knowledge. CAS boasts about its "exemplary" customer service and knowledgeable staff on its website, but my experience was far from that. There was zero accountability for their sales teams error, and the entire process was unnecessarily frustrating.
We ultimately chose to find another solution and will never do business with CAS again. If youre considering purchasing from them, be prepared for poor customer support after the sale.
