Communicative, friendly, and informative!

Bayview Home Appliance is great! They immediately contacted me to get a little more information about the appliance issue and about my schedule. They planned to check it out that week, and true to their word, it was that week at the right time.

Adrian was incredibly friendly and up-front about the issue, possibilities, and expectations. As it turns out, there was a physical issue (a block) that I never would have seen or thought of! He opened up the unit, got the block out, and was out in under an hour. It was a silly issue, and he was so polite and honest about types of repairs and how diagnosing can work, and related to my frustrations. 10/10 empathy!

This was an especially great experience, as my manufacturer had previously set me up with a service center that had incredibly poor communication and did not follow-through with timelines and expectations. As well, due to limited services in my area, they came all the way from Richmond Hill to Whitby.

Thank you Adrian and thank you Bayview Home Appliance for the quick and communicative support!

Awesome service!

I had a noise issue with 7-year old Maytag dryer in June 2022. Bayview Home Appliance Centre technician, Dean, arrived at scheduled time, diagnosed, ordered part, returned when part arrived, and installed replacement part. Along the way, Dean provided explanations and education on proper use of dryer and washer.

Fast forward to January 2023. 7-year old Maytag washer spin cycle was stopping prematurely, so clothes were still wet at end of spin cycle. Again, technician, Dean, arrived at scheduled time, thoroughly diagnosed, confirmed that all is working well, and provided explanations and education, which were once again very much appreciated.

My experience with Bayview Home Appliance Centre, for two separate appliance repairs, has been awesome. I highly recommend them, and particularly, technician Dean, for great, courteous, professional appliance service.

Clothing Washing Machine Repair

Washing machine locked shut with clothes inside. Bayview sent a tech the next day. Diagnosed failed drainage pump. Suggested new struts as well. Charged for diagnostic visit. Ordered parts. Took a week, part arrived and sent another tech to repair (Named Dean). 20 years of experience. Replaced pump in about 45 mins. Works great now.

WASHER REPAIR

MY WASHER WAS NOT WORKING & I CALLED BAYVIEW HOME APPLIANCE CENTER & COMPANY SENT A TECH OUT RIGHT AWAY. CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS AMAZING & A TECHNICIAN CAME RIGHT THE DAY & TIME IT WAS SCHEDULED I AM VERY HAPPY WITH THEIR SERVICE

What a joke

I wish I could give them 0 stars. I had a technician come in due to issues we were having with our new (< 2 month) Whirlpool fridge as an authorized service provider. After looking at our issue the technician told us he agreed that there was an issue but he didn't know how to fix it and will let Whirlpool know so that they can either arrange for someone else to come fix it or give us a replacement. We waited 3 wks...no call back...so called Whirlpool to follow-up. Turns out on the official report, the technician wrote there were no issues, and so there were no plans to followup or investigate further. The technician literally did the opposite of what he said (probably so he could get paid instead of saying "there is a problem but I couldn't fix it) and if we had no followed up, our 2 month old fridge would have remained broken.

Thermador Gas Range

Had Bayview Appliance Centre come in as a Authorized Dealer for Thermador......I accepted the cost for them to come in and diagnose which was $145.00. The tech. came to the house with a couple of waivers....the first he said was a Covid waiver, however on close inspection of the waiver it states this "Do you agree that the company, and it's officers and the service call provider and technician are not liable for any damages or personal injury whatsoever.. These are NOT Covid questions and I didn't answer. Why would they put that in their looking to not be accountable??? The tech proceeded to work on the stove but I gotta tell ya, even though they were a auth. dealer the service tech. did not seem to know his way around the stove. The tech advised me what the problem is with the stove was.....

Bayview called me the next day for the part cost and the install costs.....this is where things went sideways. They are charging me $50.00 more for the part than any other place that I called.....they are charging $145.00 to install the part that takes 45 min. to install. More than $145/ hour rate. Absurd!!!

They also asked me to pay for the part in advance.....ummm why?? I'll pay for the part when it's installed. I don't get paid in advance for the work I do, why should they. This industry is very flawed and companies like this need to be held to account.

Thermador Appliance Repair

Thermador stove/over door hinge needed repair. Technician arrived and addressed the matter only to have the matter recur less than a year later. They do not stand by their work. When reaching out to the company, I was told another fee would be charged as their warranty is a mere 30 days. Not professional. Not reliable.

Terrible Service and Insistence on Staying Terrible

Steam function on dryer wasn't working. The first person said the water wasn't connected. A different company (the appliance installers) came and actually pulled the dryer out and showed that it was connected to the water supply. Bayview came back and was now able to activate the steam function, but it was squirting water instead of releasing steam. Now it was leaking water from the front door. They said it's not supposed to be water tight, and if there were clothes in it, it would leak. I added clothes and it still leaked. They then waited 2 months to get parts for the dryer (which was brand new and had been used twice since it was installed). Now they call to book appointments, but they only book a week in advance, and are always fully booked. Furthermore, I told them to only use my phone number, not my wife's, and to remove her number from their records. They said, "you never answer," but they called me twice, 3 minutes apart, then called my wife twice within 3 months immediately after; I was calling them back 3 hours after they left a message, but that's apparently too difficult for them to tolerate. I told them that I would call them back if they left a message next time. The conversation always ends with "ok, we'll call you again next week" when I can't take the one time slot they offer. They called myself and my wife again, 4 times in less that 10 minutes the following week. I told them no other company only books one week in advance, and that they should just book it while we're on the phone instead of playing phone tag for another 2 weeks. They refused. I told them not to call me, to cancel the service, and that I would advise whirlpool to remove them from their licensed vendor list while I asked for a different company. They told me, "That's fine, your opinion doesn't matter; they won't listen to you." #whirlpool #terribleservice #goelsewhere

Terrible service - don’t use

Whirlpool directed us to this repair company for our ikea microwave. It’s been two weeks since initial call. Said they had to order but gave no indication of when they would return. Called them after a few days, said part was not in. Called whirlpool on day 12, they said part was not back ordered and company would call us within 24 hrs. Day 15... no word. I called them, woman that answered phone sounded spaced out, tried telling me part was back ordered, when I told her whirlpool says it isn’t she had a vague response about needing to call her supplier, blah blah, I will call with info. Incredibly insincere, terrible service. Will be asking Whirlpool for another repair company

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

Had a problem with my dishwasher, this company was retained by the extended warranty company. First it took over a week to get an appointment. Then the guy needed to order parts which took another 2 weeks. The repairman fixed the dishwasher, however after the first use the water backed into my kitchen sink and clogged it. I called them back and they said it is not their problem, the sink has nothing to do with the dishwasher. The person on the phone, was rude and argumentative. This may be the worst company i have ever dealt with
