Verdun Windows And Doors

They took charge of the project to enlarge two of the basement windows to turn them into egress windows for bedrooms. Cut the foundation, installed window wells, and installed windows. The project went really well and the new windows look great.

The good:
1- On time
2- Polite and friendly crew
3- Great work on the exterior aluminum doors and windows (thanks Mario).
4- Did great correcting the wrong windows and door size.
5- Cleaned the windows and doors from outside and inside.
6- Good team supervisor.
7- Took the time to try to install the door handles that was missing some screws (thanks Gabriel )

The bad:

1- Floor was not covered completely and lots of debris went into the vents.
2- Felt that some of the crew were in a hurry to leave
3- Measurements were taken twice by two different staff but the doors and some windows were the wrong size. The installation crew had to cut around to adjust them leading to uneven windows.
4- Interior caulking and framing was not done properly. Lots of caulking on the walls, lot of gaps at the joints, and some of the caulking already splitting.
5- One window was not closing properly and I was told that the service guy is on his way but, never showed up or calls to schedule appointment.
6- Another window is not closing properly but was not told about it till I tried it by myself the next day!
7- I was told by the sell staff that the manufacturing date and Verdun brand would be on the seal inside the windows but, there is nothing like that
8- I was told by the sell staff that the windows are wider that my windows blinds would not stick out but that is not true. As a matter of fact they are narrower and now I have to buy new blinds.

Verdun replaced 6 basement windows, removing old windows and frames, cleaning window area, installing new windows, cleanings area, removing all old material and disposing up. The work was completed in a timely manner, staff were excellent, very knowledgeable and friendly.

Ghislain from Verdun installed a bathroom window for us. He was professional, efficient and courteous. I asked him to look at the flashing around my front door, and he replaced that as well. I liked that the company is so flexible. They didn't have to schedule another appointment for this smaller job.

I would highly recommend this company. Reasonable prices and excellent workmanship.

Our salesman, Andrew Fincham, was also very competent and pleasant.

We had our living room window installed this morning, by Ghislain & was very pleased with the service we received.
In addition to being very friendly, polite & professional, he did a super job of the installation & left everything nice & clean.
I would most definitely ask for Ghislain to be assigned to any future work we may have done by Verdun.

The contracting went smoothly and the windows were ready for installation earlier than advertised. The employees were careful most of the time with a couple of exceptions where they left tools and materials on furniture. They cleaned up inside and outside the house after completion. They also were careful when removing some windows that I wanted to keep. They were willing and helpful in helping me solve minor problems that were not part of the contract, which saved me a lot of headaches. They remained very polite throughout and accepted that I overlook their work almost the whole time. They also provided me with advice on follow-on work I would have to do.

Crew came on time to start work and completed an installation of seven windows in approximately 6hrs. They did an excellent job on the installation (I think), and cleaned up thoroughly after they left. They talked me through the work they did too.
