J Stewart Roofing Ltd

J Stewart has done several roofing jobs for me, my family and my neighbours over the years. We've never had a problem with the work, even many years later. I know they are not the cheapest in town but you can rest assured that they will do a proper job and not cut corners.

Early March 2011, I'm 9 1/2 months pregnant and Toronto gets heavy rainfall! Our roof was done 3 years ago, before we bought our house, by a company that is now bankrupt. Initially we had a small leak in our toddlers room, with more rain it turned into a big mess and our son had to relocate. John came very quickly gave us a quote and squeezed our job in before the next deluge. Our flat rolled roof had become unsealed where it meets the drip edge in several significant places. I was so happy to come home and see the work being done on the roof. J. Stewart Roofing is a professional company. What I most appreciated was his communication and non-patronizing approach. He explained what needed to be done and why and addressed all my questions and concerns. Thank you.

John did a thorough inspection of my roof and gave a reasonable quote. The work was done quickly and well. Afterward, when I had 1 small issue that required follow up, John came back and fixed that issue plus another that wasn't even his responsibility. Very pleased with the job!

We had a leak in our roof last year and chose J. Stewart Roofing after researching a number of companies and deciding that this was the best. We weren't disappointed. John came out, took photos of our roof and patiently explained what the problem was and how he would fix it. The repair job was great, the price fair, and the problem solved.

This week, after the day and a half rain storm, we noticed another leak. (Entirely separate from what was repaired last year.) I called John and he came out had the repair completed in less than 24 hours.

When it finally comes time to replace our roof, we will definitely be going with J. Stewart Roofing.

During the hottest days of the summer the J. Stewart crew perfomed admirably. They were polite, professional, and very tidy. The clean up they performed at the end of each day gave great confidence to my neighbours and me. Nothing seemed to be too much to ask. The eaves repair to previously poor work was better than I expected. Through persistence, the maddening leak in the eaves trough was found, repaired and is completely gone. The attached photos show what a an exceptional job has been done. My sincere thanks to John and his crew for such perfectionism.

We initially contacted J. Stewart back in November 07. They came by within a week to give us a quote, and pleased with the quick response, we arranged for the work to be done. Then they failed to show up twice (inclement weather to be fair), and we didn't hear from them again until January 08 when they showed up unannounced--I noticed they had arrived because there was a guy on a ladder outside the window! At this point we were just happy the work had been done.

This spring however we got on the roof to see what had been done, and we were very disappointed. The work around the areas we had requested was very sloppy.
